I do mention them briefly in my Brit-splain of The Prime Minister's First Day but they were leaders of the Conservative Party when that party was in power. So they were Prime Minister of the UK. Neither Theresa May nor Liz Truss were voted in to be Prime Minister.

The Conservative Party were in power, the previous Prime Minister (David Cameron in the case of May, Boris Johnson in the case of Truss) resigned, leaving the leadership of the Conservative Party open. Theresa May and Liz Truss won the votes of the Conservative Party members (not much competition!), and were duly asked to be Prime Minister by Queen Elizabeth II.
