ALEINS + WHUMP

So, guess who's been getting into whump recently...ME.

I also happen to love sci-fi and alien stories, and seeing the lack of aliens in whump is SO sad to me. Theres so many possibilities!!!

-Alien carewhumper who GENUINELY sees humans as dogs, not even in a mean or cruel way, they just simply don't know how intelligent humans are (or they are just far more intelligent than humans could ever be, could go either way.)

-"I don't know why they keep making those little vocalizations! It's like their trying to talk to me, ha!"

-"Oh they love when you pet that fuzzy stuff on their head, it's so soft!"

-"I don't why they keep clawing at their collar, I made sure it's not too tight or anything!"

-What if they eventually realize, overcome with guilt that they're sweet pet who they've been treating as nothing but an animal is a sentient being. Hurt/Comfort GALOREEE after that, all while the human is trying to piece together why their suddenly given a whole room to sleep in rather than their glorified doggy bed, or why their 'owner' is suddenly kneeling down before them holding flashcards with cartoonish objects painted on them, meticulously sounding out each word in hopes to breach the language barrier. OR if you wanna do something more comedic, you could write how the alien now has to come to terms with the fact that the cute squishy little creature they found on an unregistered planet is a full person, who has seen them pigging out on the least nutritional food you could imagine, sitting in their underwear in the dark at 3AM because they assumed they were nothing more than a pretty animal. They could practically die from embarrassment....

-What kind of person is the owner? Maybe a frat boy (Or whatever the alien equivalent would be) who throws parties AT LEAST once a week, meaning there's always a hoard of half-drunken students cooing over them, and or hiding with them when they don't want to socialize. Maybe it's a rich aristocrat that can only afford such an exotic and rare pet due to their gross wealth, always making sure their prized possession is well fed and groomed so they can show them off properly, adorning them in only the finest silks and jewels. Maybe the human gets put into a circus for crowds to jeer and gasp at, forced to preform tricks under the harsh lights, their face caked in uncomfortable (And frankly quite ugly) makeup. While their 'handler' treats them cruelly, keeping them in a cage, whipping them so they comply, ect, the alien performers always manage to sneak the human small snacks and gestures of affection, knowing their situations are more similar than they would like to imagine. Maybe they get picked up by a pirate crew who stole them from a search and study vessel planning to research a new species (humans) getting to tag along in the adventures now that their free from the painful experiments and borderline torture that they were subjected to. Even with the language barrier, they can't help but think of the crew as family, not just another cluster of aliens come to gawk at them. Maybe the owner IS a scientist, making sure they're in top health so they can properly monitor and study their behaviors, realizing more and more each day that this is not just a simple animal their dealing with. Maybe whumpee was given as a gift to a spoiled alien child, who doesn't really know how to act gentle just yet, pulling on the human's hair and manhandling them for cuddles.

-Speaking of, what's the human/whumpee like? Do they bite and claw at every interaction? Do they relish in their new life free from taxes and jobs? Do they tremble in fear at the sight of towering alien beings that have stolen them from their home? Do they manage to escape and thus fight to survive on an unfamiliar planet?

-Again, SO!! MANY!! POSIBILITES!!

-ALSO!! Aliens are the ONLY fantastical creature where you can do WHATEVER you want with them; you have no limits and infinite possibilities. Why don't more people take advantage of this?! You want a fifty-foot-tall alien? Sure! One foot tall? Sure! Telepathy? Sure! Speciesism and or prejudice based off of carnivores/herbivores? Sure! An alien race that has terraformed the very stars and planets in order to rearrange galaxies to their liking and make them habitable? Sure! An alien race that HANSN"T become advanced yet and is living through a bronze/stone age, watching with awe as a strange hairless creature emerges from a floating hunk of steel and steps upon their planet? Sure! Genderless character? Sure! Eldritch horror that breaks the very minds of those who gaze upon it? SURE!

Omg sorry for taking a million years to respond! I went to a different country and then got sick from someone on the plane for a solid week and honestly forgot about this, my bad!

But to answer your question, I honestly didn't think anyone would be interested, a lot more people interacted with it than I thought would. I'm lowkey a tumblr newgen and that may or may not have been my first post (gulp) but I'm glad so many people liked it! I have a rlly hard time constructing plots for things, like I have so many favorite tropes and ideas but just can't figure out how to use them. If I can lock in and get my shit together I hope to make a fic or at least a few drabbles (Emphasis on IF I get my shit together.)

HOWEVER I will 100% be posting a list of my haso recomendations at some point, so if you want to find some more stuff akin to what I wrote then it'll be on that list!
