One of the reasons The Apothecary Diaries is my favorite anime is because MaoMao specifically calls out a serving girl who was deliberately feeding her mistress foods she was allergic to, but in a subtle enough way for her to learn her lesson about how serious allergies are without risking her being accused of deliberately poisoning the poor girl.
Even though I don't have any serious allergies myself, it's always nice to see shows and movies taking allergies seriously, and helping to inform people who might've otherwise done what that food taster did, not realizing that feeding someone something you been told they're allergic to is no better than poisoning them, regardless of if you believe the allergy to be real or not.
A hill i will die standing on is that picky eaters deserve respect and accommodation and to eat food they enjoy too. Sensory issues, disliked flavors, allergies, intolerances, cultural differences, religious restrictions, moral or political choices, they all deserve to be given consideration if you know you're gonna be cooking for them and to not be excluded from the fundamental right to food & access to the many important social bonding acitivities centered around food

Paranormal Activity series my beloved (I grew up on those movies)
Found footage movies that get turned into a series of found footage movies are always so funny. We keep buying cameras and the guys keep getting eaten by ghosts and I said well its seems like you're just feeding journalists to the monsters and then my producer started crying

Hey, heads up folks. New bot comments on ao3 are skimming sections of your story to use in comments while gushing about it and trying to get you off site. Its usually weird or not even from the same chapter. I have gotten 3 today. Please be on the look out.

Alright y'all, imma say something that might piss a few of you off. You ready?
If you choose to post your art (any medium) publicly or online, you have no control over who views it or how they perceive it. With all the conversation lately about censorship, it is important to remember that what a person views, experiences, or consumes is up to the individual. In the case of minors, monitoring that is literally the job of the parent, not you, the creator. You are responsible to share your work in appropriate spaces, but what happens after that is not your responsibility.

Hey ya'll, another scam apparently going around (cause I just got a message) is a sugarbaby scheme. If you're anonymous on a social media site and people don't have access to pictures of you, and they ask to be your sugardaddy, it's a scam. People who do not know anything about you, especially what you look like, will not reach out to you to give you money for your looks (BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE). They are trying to gain access to YOUR bank information so that they can TAKE money from YOU. They have no intentions of giving you money. Please be safe and use critical thinking on the internet.

forced immortality is a fun trope. unappreciated. someone/something wants you to remain so it makes you. it will not let you die

This is a reminder that your work's popularity has nothing to do with it's quality!!!! Just because you might not have a lot of readers doesn't mean your work isn't amazing.
#the reverse of this is also true#think about how many published books are borderline unreadably bad#< prev tags#If I remember right- isn't Twilight just published fanfiction?#and isn't it like- super popular for not being that great?#Just because it's published doesn't mean it's good- and just because it's not published doesn't mean it's bad

PSA to all writers, I am told that there’s a new influx of spam bots on AO3 (and also other fanfic posting platforms) where authors get comments from guest users or empty accounts and these comments express their interest in “making comics” from their fics. before proceeding to invite authors to “discuss with them over discord”.
apparently that is 95% a scam.
the easiest way to spot a scam bot is that nowhere in their comment will they mention anything specific about your works. there will be no mention of the characters’ names, no mention of any specific scene from your work. instead their comments will be something vague about how they “see potential” in your work and how they “would like to draw a comic panel about your work” and then they ask to “discuss this over on discord”
they have been mass leaving the exact same copied and pasted comment on various authors’ works at random. but they will make you commission/pay for “the comics” of your own fics (and you probably can guess where this is going, yes, you’ll never get your comics).
but they don’t just scam you into giving them money. I’m also told these bots are trying to hack your password, personal data, credit card information, etc.
report these types of comments then delete them when/if you get them.
it’s disgusting these pathetic losers are doing this, but also, scammers keeping coming up with a new way to scam people is sadly nothing new. stay safe, y’all
