The Russians are more mythical creatures than human beings. The Germans are psychedelic. The Italians only care about eating and gambling and hasn't got a single care for God. The Spanish and Swiss dissolve into other populations. The Brits are so isolated it's like before the invention of boats. The Czechs are non-existent.
The only hope for Western music history lies in the Frenchmen. They are like the glue to Europe's broken pieces. We can never thank them enough.

the 2nd movement is generally my least favorite (nothing wrong with it!! i just like the others more!!) but the oboe duet was just *MWAH!!* fantastic. the oboists were so in-sync it felt like 2 oboes being played at once by the same person.

wagner-tuba was a little odd and didn't blend great with the rest of the brass, but it's just a weird instrument. not the performer's fault.

okokok. first of all dudamel did the whole piece from MEMORY. THERE WAS NO DAMN CONDUCTOR STAND HE JUST MEMORIZED ALL OF MAHLER 7. ALL THE CUES? MEMORIZED. DYNAMICS/STYLISTIC STUFF?? MEMORIZED. HIS PERSONAL ARTISTIC DECISIONS??? MEMORIZED. WHAT THE HELL.
