With flavors of dried fruit and warm #spices The Glenlivet Nàdurra Oloroso Matured is a #singlemalt that should be the topic of every good conversation. The Nadurra series is Glenlivet's range of 16 year old single malt Scotch whiskies, which have been matured in ex-bourbon casks and then bottled at cask strength with no chill-filtration. A fantastic small batch expression. This edition comes from batch OL0614, bottled in 2014. The nose is quite full and well-balanced. There are notes of toasty charred oak with a most gentle of smokes with notes of marmalade and orange with a touch of apple blossom. There palate is quite full and rich. There are notes of sultanas and rich dried porridge oats steeped in honey. There is a honeycomb note with winter spice and notes of peppery oak. Old dumpy bottle of 12-year-old #Bowmore. Very interesting whisky from Bowmore, that was most likely bottled in either the late 1970s or more likely in the 1980s. We'd give it a good thumbs up with a high rating and also mention, that some notes are said to tastes far better than the current 12 year old! What an adventure for whisky enthusiasts. What makes a warm evening, we think it's lighter, brighter whisky. Tonight we're going with the Balblair 2000 vintage 10 year old single malt expression. Balblair was founded in 1790 by John Ross. The distillery lies in Edderton in the Northern Highlands, surrounded by rugged mountains, from whence the Allt Dearg - Balblair’s water source - springs. We are defined by the company we keep and we prefer the company of bold. Dark Origins is inspired by the cunning spirit and courageous personality of Highland Park’s infamous founder, Magnus Eunson. The man often credited with the foundation of the distillery at the end of the 18th century. Eunson was not a preacher as received wisdom would have it. He was a beadle by day and a smuggler by night, the latter operation based from his bothy on the High Park above Kirkwall where Highland Park Distillery now stands. In addition to this he was a born character, brimful of pawky humour and resource, which extricated him from many a scrape (W. R.
