my take on mew from only friends series as fellow virgin

Sorry the rant is long. This is my 1st time writing something like this and also English id not my 1st language so it's full of blunders 😁😁

i think people are confusing mews (over) confidence of knowing what other feels about way too seriously. I think all he is a nerd who has gather people memorised people's behavioural pattern and it's understanding. He has been a table keeper all his life. And what is a life of a table keeper lonely and boring, though we get to observe people he also get enough time to drown in boredom. His friends definitely enjoy their night life so he joins them so he does not become a bummer to them though we saw him not enjoy it a least bit .

So when in this situation Top come and show unhinged interest in hin he is swayed. Top is hot desirable though not not what mew is looking for top cannot be ignored. Mew is instantly attracted (and we have all been there attracted to someone we never planned to) also top putting on effect in building up this relationship attracts mew. He is now in love (not the true love of eternity.....none the less it's love). He is a person of desire. He loves to be desired.

Now mew and ray. We also have a friend who is infatuated by us. And we do not return their feelings . Is it cruel yes but we cannot fake feelings. But calling Mew fake friend or he doesn't care about ray is so far fetched. Mew is rays friend not his therapist. Rays drinking habit or childhood trauma should not be mews or even sands to fix. He has to work on his own. We all have a friend who is going through one or other addiction and trust me there is no helping them. They destroy your fut becouse of constant worry or aftercare.(But like any other media outlet I guess the are going to romanticize addiction here for sand and ray) they are also there to enjoy or at the very least they are not there to clean up after someone always. Ones and twice are okays but every damn fucking time gets annoying.( I wouldn't wanna hangout with them honestly couse I am not gonna have any fun at all) His friends annoyance and criticism are valid.

Also today's episode people criticizing Mew for calling Ray (his best friend) when in urgent need. Yep he cock blocked ray and sand but he did not know they were getting any action. Also comparing to 1st episode of ray getting drunk and ditched. Them remind you director af the show tweeted it out that mew went with top after Boston assured his that he will take ray home. Boston ditched ray not mew. Even if mew stayed he cannot drive aka he is useless it that situation . And he did not missed any call from Ray couse no calls were made (Rays phone battery was dead).

So my take in 3 episode is that mew is just a average smarty pants with normalish take on friends (college friendships are no fairytale bromance sorry it's same as how it's depicted in this show ). Right now he is not going scheming any thin. Just going with the flow with the equation he made regarding top. Which is not far of. But what he did not know was the variable name Boston. And have no idea he is doing it wrong

What we heard of calculating mew is the post betrayed mew who comes to know the full equation. Then he will start taking revenge and detry life of top and boston in the proces
