Polyester’s used to getting what he wants. Status, attention, praise. It’s always been handed to him, no questions asked. So when it comes to you, he thinks it’ll be the same. A few smooth lines, a grin, maybe a flex of his muscles here and there, and you’re his.

Except… you don’t bite. At all.

He’ll lean against your doorway, giving you his most practiced half-smile.

“C’mon, sweetheart, tell me you don’t think I’m peak boyfriend material. Like, be honest. If I slid in your DMs, you’d fold.”

You don’t even look up from your book. “You’re ridiculous.”

He laughs like he meant for it to go that way, but inside? His ego takes a hit. He’s used to people blushing, stammering, or something. But you? You just roll your eyes and call him silly, like he’s a kid trying to show off.

So he doubles down. Little gifts, inside jokes, and compliments that teeter on the line between playful and serious. He’ll drape his jacket over your shoulders with a cocky “Don't say I never did anything for you,” expecting a spark. Only for you to smile and say, “Thanks, bestie.”

Bestie. The word alone is enough to make him short-circuit.

Polyurethane doesn’t flirt the way Polyester does. He doesn’t stand back and play it cool. He’s in your space constantly. Arm around your shoulders, fingers brushing your hand, head dropping onto your lap like he owns it. He thrives on closeness, little whispers, and testing how far he can push until you blush. Except… you don’t.

“Love,” he drawls, leaning so close his lips almost graze your ear, “you realize you’d be top-tier if you were mine, right? Like legendary status. One of one.”

You just push his face away with a sigh. “Poly, stop being dramatic. You’re my best friend.”

Best. Friend.

The words hit him harder than any blade could. He pulls back, blinking at you like you just spoke another language. “… Bestie? No, nah, you don’t get it. I’m serious right now.”

But you only smile, patting his cheek. “And I’m serious too. You’re like… the brother I never asked for.”

He groans out loud, flopping onto the couch beside you. “That’s actually the most brutal L of my life. No respawn. No revive.” He covers his face with both hands, peeking through his fingers with a pout. “You’re cold. You know that? Ice cold. I’m out here pouring my heart out like a simp, and you’re calling me ‘brother.’” When you don’t budge, he whines, dragging out your name. “C’monnnn, don’t do me like this. You’re telling me you don’t feel anything? Not even, like, 1% rizz damage?”

“Zero percent,” you say, deadpan.

Polyurethane groans again, rolling onto his stomach like a kicked puppy. “This is actually insane. I’m clinging to you like a koala, and you’re just… chillin’. No effect. I hate it here.”

And yet the next day, he’s right back at your side, trailing after you, making you laugh with his over-the-top dramatics. Because even if you won’t give him what he wants, he can’t imagine not being around you.

So he swallows the friend zone with a pout, whining the whole way… but never leaving.

After your fight, you decided to get creative with payback. When Mystery came into the room, he stopped mid-step, frowning.

“What’s with the spoon?”

You sat on the bed, holding it up like a weapon. “It’s silver. Keeps you away.”

His brow arched. “Who told you that?”

“The internet.”

Mystery stared for a long moment, then slowly walked forward until he was nose-to-nose with you. No sizzling, no barrier, no effect.

You blinked. “Wait. It doesn’t work?”

He smirked, plucking the spoon from your hand and tossing it onto the nightstand.

“Anything else? Garlic bread? A stake through the heart? I’m not a vampire, you kn—NOT THAT AGAIN.”

You slipped on your protection charm, lips quirking mischievously. “Guess I’ll just go back to the basics, then.”

🌀 BABY

After your fight, you stormed off to the bedroom. When Baby followed a few minutes later, he stopped in the doorway, blinking hard.

He pointed at the circle, utterly offended. “You made a salt ring? Around our bed?”

You fluffed your pillow with pointed calm. “For protection.”

“From what?!” He jabbed a finger at himself. “Me?”

“Exactly.”

He gawked, pacing at the edge of the salt like a dog barred from entry.

“Unbelievable. You turned our bed into a no Baby zone,” he groaned, storming out dramatically. A minute later, he returned with a blow dryer.

You sat up as he plugged it in, a smirk already spreading. “Time to blow away your little demon-proof barrier. I’ll only sleep beside you, babe.”

🌷 ROMANCE

You’d just finished a big bowl of red bean stew when he leaned in, all soft-eyed and ready to kiss you better after a spat. His hands cradled your face, lips brushing close.

And then he froze.

“Wait.” He sniffed. Once. Twice. He immediately pulled back.

“You ate it,” he whispered, horrified.

“Ate what?”

He stepped back like you’d stabbed him. “You knew it repels me. And yet you still ate it.”

“It’s dinner, not betrayal.”

He pressed a hand to his chest, looking devastated. “Sweetheart, you’ve made yourself unkissable. By stew.”

You rolled your eyes. “You’re such a drama queen.”

“This is life and death!” he claimed, retreating to the couch with a sigh.

🍿 ABBY

Abby noticed immediately when you walked into the kitchen, protection charm still on.

“Oh. So I’m on the banned list today.”

“Yep.”

He crossed his arms. “Cool. Love being treated like a stray raccoon.”

“You said I was overreacting.”

“You were overreacting!”

The charm glinted under the light. Abby scowled at it like it was mocking him. Finally, he grabbed a spatula and pointed it at you like a sword.

“Fine. Enjoy your magical restraining order. I’ll just be over here, cooking my own dinner, tragically unloved.”

You smirked. “Tragic.”

He muttered something under his breath about burning the thing while flipping eggs with unnecessary aggression.

Jinu wasn’t one for theatrics. Until you kept your protection charm on after a fight.

He reached for your shoulder, hissed when his hand got close, and pulled back with a scowl.

“You’re weaponizing it.”

“You said give you space. So I’m giving you space.”

“That’s not space,” he grumbled, pointing accusingly at the pendant. “That’s an anti-Jinu force field.”

“Works great.”

He threw his hands up like an exasperated dad. “You’re unbelievable. What’s next, talismans taped to the walls? A salt circle around the bed?”

“Oooohh, so those work, too, huh? Thanks for the ideas.”

He groaned so loudly you had to hide your laugh behind your hand.

CHILLING WITH THEM AFTER PRATICE

nobody said being an idol was easy—even for a group of demon boy and idols. warnings: a little ooc (i don’t write for them very often, but I tried my best 😭)

ABBY

Abby is a weightlifter (and secretly a demon—but you don’t know that yet), but you’ve never seen him as tired as he is now. It’s strange. He can lift 200 pounds easily, but from 9 hours of singing and dancing rehearsals? He’s barely keeping his eyes open as he stumbles through the door of your shared penthouse.

“Abs?” You call, seeing him nearly fall on the floor in exhaustion.

“What’s wrong!?” You ask, eyes filled with panic. Abby just pants, hands on his hips as if to gain more air. (Do demons even need air?) “Practice was rough today.” He pants. You nod knowingly. “You should get some rest.” Abby smirks. “Only if you join me.” He says, picking you up bridal style.

“I thought you said you were tired!” You squeal as he carries you to your shared bedroom.

BABY

Baby was cocky. A smug bastard. So seeing him walking through the door completely exhausted—it was strange. “What’s wrong, babe?” You ask, walking over to him carefully. Baby liked his alone time when he was like this; so you weren’t really sure that walking over to him right now was the best idea.

Baby just lets out a sigh and walks over to your white, leather couch.

He plops down on it dramatically. Face first. You quickly follow after him and sit beside him. “Do you wanna talk about it?” You knew how hard it was for Baby to be represented as the ‘baby’ of the group. He was constantly babied by the his fans and the others. “No.” Baby groans, sitting up and scooting closer to you.

“Let’s just stay like this then.”

JINU

“I’m home.” Jinu’s tired voice rang out through your shared apartment. “Hey.” You say soothingly as you walk over to him. Despite being such a powerful being, the demon looks absolutely worn out. “Long day?” You ask. You couldn’t even imagine 9 hours of lyrical and vocal practice—straight.

You half expected him to pass out on the spot.

“Yeah.” Jinu says, walking over to the black leather armchair and sitting down, putting his head in his hands. “You won’t believe what happened today…” As Jinu fills you in on all the workplace drama, you can only focus on his beautiful face. His beautiful eyes. Everything about him was absolutely perfect.

“Are you even paying attention?” He asks, gently grabbing one of your cheeks. “Yes!”

MYSTERY

Mystery was always…well…mysterious. A man of very few words. But that’s what drew you in. It enticed you. But it also almost always gave you trouble in times like these. When Mystery was so ‘mysterious’ that he didn’t communicate what he wanted or needed. And right now? He looked half-dead.

“Are you okay?” You ask, brushing away his bangs.

That was something reserved exclusively for you. “Tell me what you need.” You plead. But Mystery simply walks you over to the couch and leans you into him. “I’m good.” He says, cradling your body into his. He was always so cryptic. But you loved it—and wouldn’t change it for the world.

“Good.” You say, dozing off with your demonic boyfriend.

ROMANCE

Romance. The true romantic out of the five boys—hence the name. No matter how tired he was from practice, he always had enough energy to greet you and give you a quick peck on the lips or cheek; when you greeted him at the door. But today was such a long day, he almost forgot.

“Rome?” You ask as he begins to walk towards your shared bedroom.

“Is everything okay?” Then he suddenly remembers. He nearly comes running at you. “I’m so sorry, my heart.” He says, picking you up and spinning you gently. “Romance!” You squeal in excitement. “I forgot your kiss.” He grins, pressing gentle kisses all over your face. You giggle. “Wow.”

“You can get the rest later.” He smirks.

Tamaki: Obsessive Overwhelming

Tamaki seems like someone who is very obsessed with the things he's interested in. He wants so badly to know everything about you, about the things you like, the things you want, the things you think, it becomes almost like a sport for him. He takes it upon himself to become the person who knows you better than anyone else, to the point where he takes simple actions like people being your friend as a challenge. How could they possibly be your friend when they don't even know your shoe size or what the weather was like on the day of your birth? He overwhelms you with his love and adoration that it becomes almost impossible to ignore, causing the people around him to become acutely aware of his obsession, not that he's complaining. Most of them view it as a joke, a silly little fascination, but to him, it's much more. He prefers if the entire school knew about his feelings, because in a way it's like the universe is telling him that you're meant to be together. Everyone else thinks so. Despite all this, Tamaki doesn't take that many extreme measures to insure your favor. He might beg and cry, but that is the most he'll do, at least in your eyes. His bread and butter is teaming up with others, mainly Kyoya, in order to get more from you, whether that be information or physical action. When it comes to the members of the Host Club, he's more willing to share and combine their expertise it it means you don't leave his sights.

Kyoya: Posessive Controlling

Kyoya is someone who likes to control every little situation, and that of course bleeds into you. One of the way he does this is controlling small minute things in your life. He'll encourage/manipulate you into taking certain classes, classes that he is in. That way, it'll be easier to get you to come to the Host Club when you have free time. There, he can control who you interact with, what you eat, where you go. It's easy to insert himself into your life in more physical ways as well. He'll gift you jewelry, expensive and a heavy reminder of his presence. Speaking of gifts, it's easy for Kyoya to find things you like, as he knows more about you than Tamaki. The Host Club's leader might know useless things like your shoe size, but Kyoya knows the hospital you were born in, the company your parents work at, the different types of medication you take. He uses this information to unknowingly place himself close to you. The beauty of it is that you're barely aware of it. In a way, the gifts are all just a way of distracting you from the bigger picture. Why would you question your parents suspicious raise right after you complained about their low pay when you were gifted a neckless worth more than your home?

Haruhi: Anxious Mother hen

Haruhi is constantly worried about you. It consumes most of her thoughts, causing her to be very worried and hovering over you. In a way, she's a lot like Kyoya, wanting to control aspect of your life. However, it's not in a "I wan't to own you" type of way, but more in a "I am so worried that something bad will happen if I'm not watching you" type way. She'll catch you in the hallway and ask a million questions, worried about the hour or so you weren't together. She only feels peace when she's able to insure you're okay, and often that involves doing things for you. A lot of it Is admittedly cute, cutting food for you, organizing your homework, walking you to and from class. However, it becomes a lot more dark when you realize that if you don't let her tie your shoes she might freak out. Haruhi knows that he feelings are very strange and not okay, but she can't help in. She tells herself constantly that by doing these things, she's keeping you safe from the others, even thought in many ways she's actively helping them or just as bad as them.

Hikaru: Insecure and in denial

You wouldn't know it from first look, but Hikaru is incredibly insecure about himself and his love life. Despite the suave persona he puts on, he's constantly questioning if he's enough, not just for you, but for the other people around him. It causes him to come across as really mean, pushing you away in fear of actually proving all his fears. This causes him to be in deep, deep denial, trapping his feelings away to the point where he doesn't even believe they are there. No one but his brother is really able to recognize his behavior as a crush, most people assuming that he just hates you. Eventually your relationship will morph into a friendship, but he isn't really hoping for that honestly. The more he interacts with you the harder it is for him to ignore his feelings. It gets even worse when his brother is around, because unlike him, Kaoru is so obvious with his love that it fills him with even more insecurities. Kaoru is so much better for you and unlike him, isn't afraid in showing it. There are too many emotions inside of him for him to figure out, so he shows it in the most repressed way possible.

Kaoru: Sweet Yearner

Kaoru, along with Honey and Tamaki, is the most obvious with his affections. He's sweet, and unlike his brother, is more willing to make his feelings known. He wants to understand you on a personal level, he want's to know your dreams and aspirations, making him a little overwhelming. He'll ask you really deep and personal questions randomly, rushing into a deep interpersonal relationship really quickly. However, despite that, you don't really see him as more than someone who's really passionate, because a lot of his stranger behavior is displayed behind closed doors. He writes you love letters that he never sends, has these journals discussing what gifts you might like, what you were wearing each day, your schedule. He writes out his thoughts of what life he would like to have with you, each passage written in incredible detail. He doesn't get jealous often, in fact he understands that a lot of other people would like you. His most rocky relationship is with his brother, who he wishes he would just admit his feelings. He wants his brother to be happy, but he's tired of feeling his harsh gaze on his back whenever he's with you, or having to deal with another page being torn from one of his journals. Everything would be a lot better if they could just work together.

Honey: Sweet Manipulative

Honey is the most manipulative of them all, it's something that comes naturally to him. He's pretty used to using his looks to get what he wants, and that's not something that stops when it comes to you. It's not obvious because he's sweet and cute most of the time, but there are moments where you could notice a darker side to him. He gets jealous pretty easily, wanting all of your attention on him, causing you to spend most of your time with the Host Club with him. He also does manipulate you with money, gifting you food and cute plushes and then asking you to spend time with him as payment. He'll cry and whimper and trap you in a tight hug as he mumbles about how he just wants to spend time with you before he graduates and never really sees you again. This isn't true though, as even after you go your separate ways he'll still keep you close.

Takashi: Cold Obsessive

Takashi has a very cold persona, despite being very obsessive underneath. Deep down, he is pretty shy, and doesn't really know how to express his emotions, making him come across as cold and distant. Most of the time he spends with you is when you're with Honey, which neither of them minds. Takashi learns a lot about expressing emotions and being more open from you, which he very much enjoys. He'll tries a lot to be more expressive when you're with him because he fears his more stoic persona might make you uncomfortable. Because he's so quiet however, he's able to learn a lot about you easily, listening being his greatest strength. He pays attention to everything you do or say and will remember little details about yourself that even you might forget.
