I made a personality quiz for a mediocre fantasy series that doesn't exist
I am in a bummer mood and this made me laugh a lot. Please enjoy, perhaps share your results. Know that this is not a real series and this is not a real indicator of your actual personality. Unless you want it to be, I guess?

In 2001, right after Bionicle wave 1 was released, I tried to draw my own Kanohi mask designs. Nothing spectacular and I wasn´t satisfied with it back then. Now I revisited them and made actual 3d versions. I hope, I could capture some of the mystical vibe of the first generation. Later masks tended to be more futuristic and overdesigned, the originals felt like ancient artifacts.

Im in a discord with a few people who have bionicle-related projects and they were wondering about incorporating your matoric conlang in them if possible, but we're unsure on whether that would be ok with you so id rather ask first
I am always happy to see people incorporate Matoric and related stuff into their own projects. In fact, I'd say that's largely the purpose of the project: to provide inspiration and creative material for use in the fandom. If any of these projects become public in the future, I'd love to see them as well!

Kicked Out: A Series for Unhoused and Transient Youth
In the United States, we know that LGBTQ+ youth are 120% times more likely to experience homelessness than their heterosexual and cisgender peers, and that up to 40% of homeless youth identify as LGBTQ+. To help us understand these inflated and disproportionate rates, we must tie them to larger social and political context:
"Consistently across studies, intersex youth are also especially likely to experience homelessness. In the United States, BIPOC youth are 83% more likely to experience homelessness than non-BIPOC youth in general, and these percentages increase when the youth are LGBTQ+ identified. Because of institutional racism, youth of color are significantly more likely to experience barriers to accessing services to get out of homelessness....
In other cases, homophobia, transphobia, or both in the family makes home unsafe and LGBTQ+ youth have no choice but to leave home in order to survive. Religious community rejection and discrimination are also frequent causes of LGBTQ+ youth homelessness. In some cases, religious leaders may be encouraging families to reject their queer children and kick them out of the home. Or the religious leaders may encourage mistreatment of the LGBTQ+ youth resulting in the teen leaving home for their mental, physical, and/or emotional safety."
When we look at the larger context, we see how systems that provide little support for marginalized youth are linked to higher rates of homelessness among LGBTQ+ youth. Homelessness is due to systemic failure, not individual failure.
Are you being, have you been, or are you afraid you might be kicked out? Former kicked-out kid, excellent human and writer Sassafras Patterdale brings their lived experience to Scarleteen in this series to help you get through it while staying safe.

I want a culture of platonic relationships in society (
Because I see a cute, cool person, and I want to spend time with them and hug them and make gifts for them, but this is perceived by them and others as romantic/sexual. I don't want that.

I wonder if there's some sort of distributed hypocrisy going on here. As in, there's just about room for someone to have a position like, "a Democratic candidate with Obama's views would work, since the Republicans reaction to him back then was because he's black." And there's also people who'll say to you, "How dare you say that right-wingers' values have anything to do with racism, you're exactly the sort of radical leftist who's alienating them." Unfortunately these two different groups of people start off saying "right wing radicalisation is because the Democrats won't compromise," indistinguishable until you've put in a whole load effort teasing apart their positions. Perhaps they don't even realise the extent to which they disagree with each other.
I mean, it really depends on what you mean by "Work".
I get pulled into side tangents because to some extent I sympathize with affirmative action and various Democratic policies. But that's not really my main point.
Trump's 2016 term represented probably the most wildly successful Republican presidency in the history of the modern party alignment.
And Biden still beat him.
I happen to think that the lesson of 2020 is, "The American public is so checked out that they are mainly deciding whether to vote against the incumbent, and neither party is going to get three consecutive terms in office for the foreseeable future"
In a fair election in 2028, I heavily favor "Not-Trump" to win, based on his platform of not being the incumbent.
The thing I object to is the idea that Republican paranoia and radicalism are best countered by aggressive moderation on the part of the Democrats.
Because we... like... already tried that.
After 8 years of Democratic reassurance (Remember the Beer Summit? Remember ACORN?) followed by four years of incredibly successful Republican work to ensure that the Supreme Court will reliably prevent the next several Democratic Presidents from doing anything that the base will object to, the result was...
The Jan 6th riots storming the capitol building.
12 years of the exact medicine that was supposed to cure the Republicans has only made them more feverish.

I think jokes that rely on confusing the english punctuation for exclamations (!) with the mathematical notation for factorial (!) are officially not funny anymore.
they weren't all that funny in the first place but they're definitely not funny now
