This lifestyle is also known as polyamory (poly = many; amor = love; hence, many lovers). There are many types of swingers – those who swap/exchange their partners, those who engage in sexual activity with their own partner with others in the same room, those who engage in threesomes, and so on and so forth. But the single, MOST IMPORTANT premise of swinging or polyamory is that it is done with the CONSENT of both partners, for the PLEASURE OF BOTH partners, to bring MORE INTIMACY in the relationship of the committed couple (counterintuitive it sounds, I know, but those who truly follow the lifestyle will swear by it).

WHAT MOST INDIANS DON’T KNOW (BUT THINK THEY DO) ABOUT THIS LIFESTYLE

After interacting with a LOT of people on Tumblr, we’ve figured out that most Indians don’t understand the connotation of “lifestyle”. For them this is, crudely put, a “license to fuck others”. If you have been approached by singles or couples in your inbox with questions like “Can I get a chance to fuck her?” “Are you guys looking for a 7’ cock bull?” “How many couples have you fucked so far?”, and these questions have made you cringe then you know exactly what I’m talking about!

Most of the videos that I have seen so far, of their adventures and escapades, look more like “use and abuse” than mutual pleasure…especially for the women. Mind you, I said most, not all. If it’s multiple partners, it looks more like a rush to get to all her holes as quickly as possible.

The photos that are posted are mostly of the woman partner, in poses that suggest “selling” rather than true exhibitionism, with captions like ”who likes her boobs/ass/pussy/cunt” “comment and tell us what you’d like to do to her” etc. This is a complete turn off for people who are actually looking for connections.

And finally, there’s this trend unique to Indian blogs of “gifts from fans”. They claim not to get paid for their sexual favours but on the other hand say that the woman will wear all the gifts her “fans” send her and will even do things in them. People, wake up, this is not what the lifestyle is all about! You’re putting her up on display just because you get off on it, and most of the time when she’s not 100% in on it.

Now, I have absolutely nothing against people trying to run a business here. It’s an open forum and people can do what they like. But please, don’t call it a lifestyle and misguide those who are uninitiated or trying to venture into these waters. It’s like exposing a teen to dirty porn and making him/her believe that this is what actual sex looks like!

The swing lifestyle is about devoted love, complete trust and mutual pleasure. It stems from the feelings of compersion (if you don’t know the concept, Google it!) and it can be something really fulfilling, elegant, classy and sophisticated. And Tumblr taught me that if we want this lifestyle in its true sense, we have to be patient and not shy away from weeding out the ones who just don’t “feel right” from the get go .We’ve tried it and have met some amazing people on Tumblr who we talk to on an almost daily basis and have a lot of good laughs and that’s certainly a great start to this lifestyle, and all those out there who relate to this post, you’ll find them too!
