The Chosen: Rise of Arcadia
Before Arcadia, there was Spratias. A land ruled by the five divine pantheons who govern everyday life. With humanity being guided by the people chosen by these deities. These chosen are the paladins and clerics, the absolute pinnacle of worship and power as they spread the word of their god's pantheon and performed miraculous marvels and feats of great wonder for nobles and commonfolk alike.
The God-King is the ruler of Spratias and is blessed by all the pantheons, consider the apex chosen of the people, who is the physical avatar and speaker of all the gods. However, there is a war brewing between the five pantheons as their chosen disagreed with one another and the ruling God-King, alongside a growing discontent amongst the gods themselves.
The MC, a ward of a forgotten lord, and their rival, the illegitimate child of the current God-King, must unite to save the people they care about and create a better world. Their own Arcadia. Whether with or without the gods' divine providence.

It had started out as any other post apocalyptic story for you, losing your peaceful everyday life to the mobs of devils that had spawned in the middle of the US and other major countries. But something happened. After surviving for nearly two decades against these fiendish monsters and carving a decent life for the next generation, you finally succumb to the hellish threat and died.
Your very last memory was your last stand to protect the only people you had left. Defying the odds in order for your adopted kids to get to safety while you and your partner held off the demons. It should have been the end for your miserable existence, but you woke up in your bedroom. A room you haven't seen in over twenty years.
You were back in the past before the monsters and ghouls have truly dominated humanity. Before the fall of civilization as you once knew it, desperately trying to keep your friends and family safe amongst the horde of demonic hellspawn to little success. But you did manage to save a few others along the way. It's a hopeful wish that your sacrifice did manage to save your little ones.
So, seeing the old faces of your friends and family was bittersweet after all of the agony and misery you went through. So young and full of life in this heavenly reality that you thought to have been gone forever. But you can still remember every gruesome death they had suffered in that forsaken realm like a scar.
You don't know how or why you were in the past again or even what greater purpose it serves, but you don't care. You have a second chance to save the ones you have lost in that dark future. You won't lose anybody again.
No matter what.

Characters of Losing Dogs
Seth/Sabra Kaplan was your Partner in the War Games and your fellow survivor after you managed to escape the final simulated battle within the arena. Initially very self-preserving and was planning on abandoning you at the start so they could make it back home to their siblings. But stuck with you due to advantages you two were unknowingly receiving during the War Game. They ended inspiring and leading a movement within the Rusticus Sector (the largest but poorest zone of the Caelum Republic and often used as day laborers in other sectors or servants in the main Capitol) after exiting the games as a Victor. The group known as the Judas Brigade planned to rise up against the Republican Consorts and remake the Republic into a paradise for the poor citizens of Rusticus.
Erik/Erika Thoren was your Mentor for the War Games tasked with guiding you through challenges and delivering gifts to you depending on your performance. An Caelum citizen originally from the Colonus Sector (The second largest sector that primarily deals with Agriculture) after they won their War Game years ago. All former Victors are forced to move to the Capitol after the games to parade the honorary citizen/civilized savage to the elite class. They're known as the Butcher amongst the media due to how bloody their War Games was with many Caelum citizens believing that their red hair was permanently dyed by the blood they split. They’re a member of the secret Army of Liberation, a resistance group made up of different sector citizens that seek to escape the Republic and stake a new home in a different country away from Caelum.
Wilhelm/Willa Marshall is the Dog of War for Caelum. They were drafted into the illustrious Pacem Cohorts, the guard of the Republican Consorts, after they won their War Games in savage bloodshed. As a Cohorts commander, they didn’t receive as much backlash as E for their monstrous actions within the games. But, W is considered a traitor for becoming the Capitol's dog. They were initially tasked with sabotaging you and S during your War Games as the Rusticus Sector was becoming more unruly from the decades of oppression and the Consorts wished to make an example of Rusticus again. However, something about you made them reconsider and provide you with secret aid during your games since the games were rigged to make sure you and your partner will die gruesomely. Something deep inside them cracked after providing you that show of mercy and they’re beginning to question their role as they're now tasked to watch you and your partner for any show of dissent towards the Capitol after you’ve became the unlikely victors.
Andrew/Andrea Xiphias is the angelic poster child of the Games. A privileged child from Medicus, they managed to win their games without a single drop of blood. Which was unprecedented due to the warlike nature of the Games. Despite the major upset amongst the ruling class, A was made the new saint-like figure for the Games. Showing the other sectors that the War Games doesn’t have to end in bloodshed due to A’s miraculous feat. A even strong armed the government to create the Pax Regiment, an organization meant to provide basic care and nutrition to lowly sectors, by using their popularity amongst the elite. Twisting the narrative as a way to show the Capitol’s mercy towards the low working class. They even helped W with their secret plots to aid you in the ring, providing medicine and secret tips to draw the public towards you and your partner since you were supposed to be doomed from the start. Now, they stay by your side to keep you out of trouble and guide you through the treacherous media and two face Consorts.
Francisco/Francisca Sasaki is Marshall’s second in command and your old childhood friend from Rusticus. They were kidnapped by the Capitol as a child due to the dwindling population in the Legion Sector, one of countless other young souls to fill in the gruntish ranks. It was you that kept them going through the tortuous training and the scrimmages with the Capitol’s enemies as they held onto the picture they grabbed during that initial raid in their helmet through every horror they witnessed. So when they saw you get picked for the games, they were quick to make sure you survived. Sneaking in weapons when they can so you will live another day. They’re not fond of S due to them almost abandoning you in the beginning of the games. F hasn’t been completely indoctrinated by the Capital unlike their fellow kidnapped compatriots and held on tight to their identity as a Rusticus citizen. Now, they are serving as your personal guard after you’ve won your games, ready to follow you anywhere as long as they can protect you from the pit of vipers inside the Caelum.
Oliver/Olivia von Herzog is the eldest child of the Head Consul and the future inheritor of the position. They’re the model of the prefect Caelum citizen with numerous interests and feats in art, war, philosophy, and science paired with a deep love for their home. Which was nurtured by their father having them join the Youths of Heaven as a child, a group of young Caelum’s citizens who are deeply entrenched in the divine glory of Caelum Republic and pledging themselves to expand their greatness everywhere. O is intrigued by you and S after you won your games since it was deemed impossible for the most poor and lowest of sector citizens to even win any of the War Games. The Rusticus Sector was meant to be fodder and stepping stones for the Republic’s greatness after all. So they made it their mission to become your guide in becoming Caelum’s citizens since all victors must live and breathe the ideals of the Republic after winning the games. Especially so they could learn why exactly made the two scrappy Rusticus citizens so impossibly amazing despite their low background.
Got back into the Hunger Games with the recent release of 'Sunrise on the Reaping'.
Which promptly made me think about a story similar to the Hunger Games but not quite.
It's just another mini wip when I want to think about something other than Double Rainbow.
I titled it Losing Dogs since the story is mainly about the aftermath of one of these games and how one copes with what they have done to survive in a death battle.
The setting is definitely more focused on the Roman Empire aesthetic in regards to how the citizens interact with each other. Also there's a minor allusion to the circles of hell with the sectors surrounding the main Capitol but nothing really inspiring in my opinion.
I've been mainly focused on the world building and how the current government would result in using a death game in this universe. As the current idea is that the main Capitol, Caelum, picks representatives from each sector to commit a War Game. Both to punish the sectors for numerous uprisings and to know what would work when they attack their neighbors.
There are victors in these War Games but not quite like the Hunger Games. Essentially any number could survive if the overseers deem the War Game to be a success against their current target. Maybe half of the representatives survive after they show that the Capitol should use a raid to dismantle their neighbors trade lines.
But oftentimes they wait until there is one person left standing to lean into the game aspect of the War Games. Showing that you have to be vicious and brutal in order to come out of the War Games alive, which helps with the propaganda of the lowly workers of the Sectors being savages.

Power-Less Main Cast/ROs
Brief Overview
Alessandro/Alessandra "Sandro/Sandra) Medici
Superhero|Hyperion|Solar Empowered|29
The top superhero in the city of Eden Park, who uses their sun powered abilities to bring peace and hope to the citizens. The closest thing to a modern Superman for how powerful they are and inspiring the common folk with their upbeat and positive attitude. Almost a sun personified. But like all superheroes, they have a secret identity when they're not flying over the skyscrapers and clouds. For they're one of MC's best friends when they're not wearing their golden tights and cape.
Damon/Damian Barnett
Supervillain|Azrael|Shadow Manipulation|29
The nemesis of Hyperion and the dreaded supervillain of Eden Park. The dark shadows that always followed them caused dread within the populace, their black visage making all fear of what could come next. It would make sense that the top supervillain and superhero would be such polar opposites despite being former partners in justice years ago. But regardless of their issues with Hyperion, they're willing to put that aside monetary for their best friend,MC, who doesn't know their identity.
Emil/Emilie Ellingboe
Vigilante|The Marshall|Empath|30
A well-known vigilante who stalks the alleyways and back corners of the city for trouble. They were once a soldier who had wanted to find purpose in their life after being discharged, so they became a vigilante to protect the common people from the criminals that superheroes won't touch and deal with the seedy underbelly of the city. They're also the thorn in MC's side with their antics since MC is often called to deal with them. But many don't know what actual connects these two.
Jamie Dantes
Revolutionary|Abbadon|Reactive Adaption|28
The leader of a growing anarchist group who operates in the underground. Nobody knows who and where this person came from, but most know that they have all consuming hatred for the government and the system of superpowers. They've slowly created a group to topple the system down through force and blood, gathering other like minded people who hate the system. But they hold a strange fondness for MC, a fact picked up by their comrades since they proclaim the officer off limits in any of the group plans.
Odilo/Odila Monet
Investigative Reporter|Memory|32
A reporter in the biggest newspaper in the city. They're not the lead reporter in their division, but are still well known for picking up facts and happenings in the cities like a bloodhound. Often, they disappear for days investigating a lead even if it seems frivolous or a red herring. One of these trips lead them to discovering a strange rumbling in their city which will spell trouble for everybody whether they're civilians, superheroes, or villains. Which led them to MC, their most trusted source within the police department.
Nikol/Nikolai Kovaylov
Engineer|Tyro|Unpowered|26
The mechanic and engineer of the items used by the superheroes stationed in Eden Park. But they're mainly known as the sidekick of Hyperion despite being considered a unpowered person. Tyro is often having to keep everything in check when their partner is doing their thing, mostly helping with evacuations and dealing with lower thugs. However, they're often overlooked due to the extravagance of Hyeprion's actions. But they often find some solace in their fellow unpowered, MC, even if they feel something off about the officer.

So, I had been tossing a little plot idea for a while now. I'm posting a simple version of it here before making a more extensive one on the other blog. It's essentially a superhero story that was burning in my brain for the last couple months and I wanted to get it down before it fades away to that make sense.
Its name is Powerless, stylized like this (Power-Less), and it follows the main character who is a police officer. They're consider an anomaly in this world where everybody have superpowers since they seem to not possess any, however that is wrong. They have the ability to negate or lower the capabilities of the people around them, which was soon found out by the government when MC's power went out of control as a teenager and caused a lot of damage unintentionally. They were soon kidnapped and experimented on to figure out how this power could be replicate for the military's usage but it was a complete failure. Which resulted in MC being forced to join the police task force so they could be still be observe and track when they were released by the scientists.
Essentially, this story is about MC trying to find their footing again after being shown the darker side of their supposedly heroic and moral world. With the characters they meet along the way helping to shape their new ideals and what they truly want to do with themselves and their mysterious power.
Edit: Posting the link to other blog here
