at last getting off her shift from the town center’s book shop, a huff of relief left luna as she headed out the door. one hand clutching the warm wool fabric of the coat she had on, the other gripping her bag adorned with a bat shape on the front draped over her shoulder. making her way over to the sidewalk across the parking lot, she made sight of pink. it wasn’t the sight of a much more favorable red head sporting the color, rather it was aphrodite rayfield; the girl one could argue got under luna’s skin the most since showing up in mumford. at least the feeling seemed to be mutual. luna lost her train of thought of where she was seeing the other girl for a second, almost losing her balance all while wearing shoes that were gritty enough to walk up a steep hill. “look what the cat dragged in,” she complained, adjusting her coat to cover her hips. “were ya headed this way for a reason or do ya just love runnin’ into me all the time?” he questioned sarcastically, turning her eyes to a false interest across the street. 

it was the last place aphrodite rayfield wanted to be—a bookstore. she would’ve much preferred to at a posh restaurant in town or at least going through local mall, searching for something that suited her interests... but no, she had a summer reading project she was dreading on doing. so rather than pushing it off, like she normally would’ve done, her best friend ezra had convinced her to get a head start—offering his help to her. the redhead pushed through the doors of the quaint little shop, and her emerald hues fell upon luna. the two had never exactly seen eye to eye, but maybe things wouldn’t be so bad when they actually spoke to each other, instead of exchanging hateful glances at each other all day. “ i’d love running into you as ‘bout as much as i’d love to run into a knife, ” aphrodite remarks, lips pursed closed and arms crossed. “ anyways, it’s not realy much of your business, but some of us come to the bookstore to get books, ” dite answered, annoyance etched into her features. “ now, do you have a doll’s house by... henrik ibsen here, or do i have to go to fuckin’ books a million ?? ”
