Made this baby in March because Doll Chateau was stopping making Lilian and Centaurbie had just hit Tumblr. Thought I'd hit two flies with one stone 😂

She usually hangs around wearing just boots but sometimes she wants to feel like a normal barbie.

My hair order arrived from 100cm “milkhair” fiber at aliexpress.com/item/32994972254.html ($6.40) that I suspected could be nylon and two new colours from the known and trusted Polyethylene supplier at at aliexpress.com/item/32996198624.html ($4.82 each)

The two polyethylene colours are gorgeous: there’s a coral pink #44 and a pure white #20. Since I have some Siberia nylon which is the whitest of white nylons I thought i’d show you the difference between fibres: we have very similar deniers which is the diametre of the extruded plastic string but one is stiff and straight, one is slightly porous giving it a slightly kinked look and floppy/soft. Both feel silky to the touch but one hangs on the head like real hair and PE likes to defy gravity until tamed with heat.

As soon as the “milkhair” fibre was out of the bag I could tell it was that gorgeous high quality soft nylon, there’s actually less of it weight-wise than the PE hair and only 12 colours, mostly variations of blonde or black. But considering you pay £5 ($6.52) + postage for 25g of nylon on retrodolls, I felt like taking the risk*.

*Of course, at the time I was flush with about $90 in bratz sales which very quickly got spent on mostly hair (30$ at retrodolls, $25 at aliexpress), star darlings lavender, clawvenus and some hasbro bodies LMAO.

Conclusions: the milkfiber nylon is high quality and if you want a cheaper pure white, PE #20 from the 55 color listing is as close to white as you get before they start adding blue pigment to trick your eyes.

Shibajuku dolls look so much better on big bodies

Gayle lives! I hadn’t been able to throw away the stained, broken hips body from doris (because the other day I needed a thing to focus on and fixing that body somewhat was it) so I got it out, cracked open the epoxy mods and stole the torso + stained arms and attached the slightly heat warped hips and clean legs. Her waist joint is floppy and her head likes to slide down the neck but I’m going to add some e6000 to her neck hole for grip and teflon tape to her waist. Why? because this I gave this shibajuku with the awful eyes and the worse hair a name which was mistake n°1, then she got cute eyes… nah it’s probably that it’s been a crap week, month, year and mum’s seeing a disability assessor tomorrow which is the shrödingers demon of chronically ill folks everywhere in that they could be make your life hell or just get on with their job and respect your doctors’ assessment but either way it’s demeaning, you have to dredge through aspects of your life you try to pretend aren’t there the rest of the time and answer very personal statements about your personal life and body functions. aaaand i keep making doll or music posts with deep dark junk in them. Bet you’re glad you followed me for my cutesy rainbow reroots. Woop Woop.
