I think people tend to forget that Junko isn't entirely heartless and actually did care for people like Yasuke, Mukuto, and her classmates. The whole reason she went to the extent she did with them and killed them was BECAUSE she cared about them.

Furthermore the reason she went out of her way to just brainwash class 77 instead of getting to know them is because she simply didn't care about them. However, she did put her classmates through the killing game because she loved them.

"I already wrote the Danganronpa/Zero novels, but Enoshima loves her classmates from DR1. I wanted to write more of that. All of the DR2 characters are small fry to her. She just brainwashed them all at once, like, I don’t even friggin’ know these guys! But she deliberately let the DR1 crew survive and turn the school into a shelter so that she could make her classmates kill each other. The entire "Danganronpa Kirigiri" series is now available in English.

I don't do Reddit much, which is probably why I only just learned yesterday (courtesy of @vampietears) that Danganronpa Kirigiri Volumes 1-7 have all been translated into English and made available as PDF versions in the past year.

I searched Tumblr for any mention of this and found absolutely none, so I feel confident that I'm far from the only person who didn't know these were available.

CLEAR YOUR SCHEDULES, DR fans! It's definitely going to take me some time to work through the whole series, but I hope (eh? eeeehhh?) to enjoy the process.
