happy solstice weekend, my heart is filled with love and gratitude. I’m starting a bucket list of things to do this summer. I started the summer with a trip to the beach and the first ocean swim of the year. We were celebrating a dear friend’s birthday this weekend, I met so many lovely, interesting, inspired people. We drank a beautiful bubbly rose and prosecco on a blanket in the park Friday, last night danced until the sun came up, wearing sparkly dresses in a smoke filled room. I feel like I’m in love again.. with life and z and my friends and the city. Other things I want to do before the summer ends.. read 3 books, make 5 drawing/paintings (small scale), continue yoga, continue running, continue dancing, sleep under the stars, go camping, get a bike, bike to the beach, host a dinner party, spend an entire day walking the city, get a cone from the ice cream truck, go to a jazz show, learn how to play a song on the key board, sing karaoke, volunteer at the local urban farm, get some house plants, cultivate my creative practice, continue finding myself and learning about myself as I enter this new era of life

I’m not immune to the pleasantries of a quiet, suburban life

I really do believe there are an infinite number of miracles, life-saving exchanges, intimate embraces and fleeting glances of beauty and connection just patiently waiting for us to be receptive and vulnerable enough to meet them

I feel as tho I used to be full of conviction and creativity and something happened to me idk when or what the turning point was but there was an inflection point where the trajectory of my spirit got flipped to a new direction and I want to rewind to that point and forcefully stop that occurrence. I understand this is not how life works, time is cyclical not linear right, and even if this were possible to go back in time the universe would present these lessons to me in a different way at a different time and the inflection point of my life or spiritual journey would still have to occur. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with feelings of loss and anxiety over the thought that I have actually unintentionally severed a part of who I was or had some potential to be. But I know I have an untapped energy that lives inside me and every day lived, every thought, every experience drives me towards my truest self. Even if at times it feels like a backwards shift it’s just another turn in the spiral jetty that never ends, like life is really a big wave and god is the orange hued strawberry moon shining down at me through humidity induced, low hanging, milky evening clouds

being at my parents house again means taking a full shower at night and then immediately getting into bed with sopping wet hair, wait it actually feels so good and comforting to be here <3
