I heard on a different blog that if someone leaves a bad review about your product and it is a seller review, Amazon will remove it. From time to time, you'll come across niche sites that rank really well and sit comfortably in the top 3 above authority sites in that niche. I've noticed that most other guides on Amazon affiliate marketing advise people to avoid keywords where there already are niche sites on page 1. I'm completely against this reasoning. So, I wouldn't recommend beginners to try and rank a site in a medium competition niche especially if you notice a lot of strong sites ranking on the first page of Google.
I've never played with paid traffic (at least in regards to trying to get them to Amazon) and I know you cannot directly link to the products with the ad, per the Amazon Associates T..S. But it might work if you direct that traffic to a review on your site, which points to the product you are reviewing. On some of my sites, I have pages that rank well that have a few hundred affiliate links on them. The reason being is that although you can rank for ~1,000 word reviews and guides, it takes a lot more work, and most of the sites that can rank for shorter content are the huge sites that have extremely high domain authority.
