As we just commemorated the 48th death anniversary of The King, ELVIS PRESLEY, I thought it would be important to showcase how huge he was as an universal icon, all around the world - and not just in the US - through many of his movie posters culled from the Gallery's collection and covering many countries : Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Japan, Sweden, the UK and the US.

Obviously the US posters for Elvis Presley movies are the best known since they are the originals. The various formats allowed many designs to be created and displayed.

It is important to note that ELVIS himself required Robert McGinnis to design 4 of his movie posters between 1967 and 1968 (Clambake, Live A Little Love A Little, Speedway and Stay Away Joe) as he was obsessed with the James Bond posters that McGinnis had done.

FLESH GORDON (1974) - PORN SPOOF MOVIE POSTERS (Part 2/20)

Another instance of how the Porn movie industry (in its still booming infancy in 1974) preceded the real movie industry to revive a famous character, i.e. Flash Gordon made famous in both comic strips and TV serials, with a big erotic spoof production - 6 years before Dino De Laurentis greenlit the now classic 1980 Sci-Fi movie.
