Bangkok | Information from the backstage #2
Support Dario"Akraken" Falcao-Rassokha was jumped up and down. There, they saw that the close of the game on the dugout monitors, observing when Sweden's success was confirmed.
Team Australia trainer and Los Angeles Valiant assistant coach Jordan"Gunba" Graham stated he largely observed Sweden's success coming. "Going to the game, we had a sense it may go that way, because Denmark has a particular playstyle that was feeble to Sweden's playstyle," he explained.
Immediate CLASSIC
Sweden's triumph put the Aussies up nicely, but they needed one map triumph from China--a daunting task, undoubtedly. Gunba, nevertheless, needed a very specific way of this game he considers helped them attain the job.
"Therewas a great deal of focuson that we had yet another map, but from a training standpoint, we attempted to operate with the notion of'Heywe can win the string,''' Gunba explained. I understood when we slid down, we can bring it back."
Really, Australia appeared much more powerful following halftime, carrying both Anubis and Rialto. The in-studio cheers since the Aussies affirmed their BlizzCon excursion were chill-inducing:
DPS Huseyin"Hus" Sahin played a starring role in both channels, showing up large on Sombra and Widowmaker. When asked what he had for breakfast which made him play insanely, Hus appeared at his teammates muttered,"I can not say what I wish to state."
After a minute's hesitation, he leaned forward and added,"I ate a few Chinese"
"That is not correct!" Team Australia GM Andrew"Rqt" Haws stated having an I am -watching-you gesture. "He had been overdue for breakfast"
Despite only falling short of this reverse-sweep from China, Team Australia had been in high spirits when they moved for the last moment.
Custa walked past them approached the clinic area. He looked in the Swedish players said, quite sincerely,"Thank you"
Team China might have completed the Group Phase with a perfect 5-0 record, but they hit a few bumps along the street, as Thailand, Denmark, and Australia took them into tiebreakers. Their proficiency control maps was the gap, letting them complete off games even in stressed situations.
Do not allow the five-map games for Team China fool you, however. Head trainer Wang"RUI" Xingrui clarified that portion of the late-game battles were because of this Overwatch World Cup substitution principle, which only permitted for player swaps in halftime. "It truly restricted us from conducting the roster we desired to specific avenues," he explained.
1 place that China understands they will have to improve is that their goal control on payload maps, since they lost a couple of rounds because of inattention throughout weekends. "We had it occur actually 3 occasions during the whole weekend," flex tank Tianbin"LateYoung" Ma explained. "We'd decision-making troubles."
LateYoung additional Team China was really pleased with the outcomes, irrespective of how they got there, plus they will try to get even more powerful for BlizzCon.
"We've got no specific competitor in your mind," he explained. "we would like to concentrate on ourselves. There is a very long road before us, and we've got problems, so we really wish to concentrate on ourselves instead of our competitions."

Bangkok | Information from the backstage #1
The Royal Paragon Hall at Bangkok yawned early on Sunday morning, rows of seats fanned across the massive distance bathed in blue light from over. Throughout two sets of double doors, neighborhood Thai fans made a very long line that snaked around obstacles. The fans waited patiently, clinging to Thai flags, sporting Overwatch League product, and carrying little digital signals. Since the doors opened, fans were given thundersticks, they inflated as they poured into the hallway.
So much was online on the Last afternoon of this Group Stage, as China, Denmark, Australia, and Sweden all remained in contention for the two places available in the Top 8 at BlizzCon. The matches, as always, didn't disappoint.
At the end of this afternoon, Thailand's triumph over Spain capped off the Group Stage in the most fitting manner possible, providing the hometown heroes one final well-deserved spotlight. But before that happened, there was a lot of enthusiasm that unfolded, both onstage and backstage.
China maintained the initial BlizzCon slot using a fresh 4-0 victory over Spain, which supposed the struggle of Scandinavia will be critical for the outcome from the general standings.
Watch Total Match | Denmark vs. Sweden | September 16 Both Denmark and Sweden were discussing a huge game, and though Denmark dominated the initial map, Sweden came back to Hollywood--a surprise map select given the incidence of King's Row throughout the World Cup Group Stages up to now.
Team Australia was seeing the game in the player lounge, and they lit up as the teams entered Temple of Anubis following halftime. Opponents earlier in the weekend, the Aussies were fans of Team Sweden at the moment, requiring the Swedes to prevail so as to keep their chances of progressing.
"Perform [triple-triple], you cowards!" Scott"Custa" Kennedy cried at the monitor. "This isn't the play"
Every elimination by Sweden will evoke a cheer against the Australians, but as Denmark gradually floor the Swedes down, they became silent.
Together with Denmark ongoing their Point B strike, Tim"Manneten" Bylund defended attractively with a few motivated D.Va drama, and abruptly Sweden started popping away, carrying wave after wave out of Denmark. Australia began hammering again, slowly becoming louder and louder till time ran out.
Custa stated, before leading his group at a chant. "One, twothree, Sweden!"
As the match moved onto Watchpoint: Gibraltar, Team Australia even started backseat shotcalling, like they were playing at the match.
Someone cried out when Denmark's Mercy was reduced in health.
"Do not allow him res!"
Their staff supervisor popped in unexpectedly, telling the players that they had to visit the toilet before their game against China, which could instantly follow.
"No!" Custa pleaded, pointing towards the TV.
"Yes," the group manager said.

Bangkok standout players: last pt
Team China used a three-DPS spinning system all weekend which enabled everybody to showcase their ability, such as that of 17-year-old Shy, who's famous for his hitscan art but can also bend to encourage if necessary. He did not need to at Bangkok, but he did play with a bit of Bastion, Junkrat, and Brigitte, Together with the meta heroes such as Sombra and Widowmaker. After cutting his teeth LGD Gaming within the previous two Contenders seasons, Shy's positive performance last weekend ought to count as a very long trailer for that which he would bring about the Overwatch League when he has picked up this offseason.
Dario"Akraken" Falcao-Rassokha--Australia, Service The Majority of Team Australia's Contenders contingent comes in two groups --Blank Esports and Dark Sided. The exclusion is Akraken, who recently defended his Contenders Australia name together with all the Sydney Drop Bears following an undefeated year --they fell two maps all season, and none before the playoffs. On the large point in Bangkok, Akraken formed a powerful support duo using Scott"Custa" Kennedy, along with his Ana drama stood out, particularly his clutch Sleep Dart plays during the weekend.
