💫 —O, HIATUS.
I will be putting this blog on a hiatus for February while I get some health and life things done. It’s heckin busy, and I feel awful when there’s not enough time at the end of a day to get my replies done. So I’m just going to take a little break to help with focus and time management. *(what even is it???)
I WILL MISS YOU ALL, but I’m looking forward to coming back in good health and better vibes in the spring! SEE YOU ON MARCH 1st!
This also follows for my other two blogs, @anahori-simon, and @choudaigurrendan!!
Also! I will still be rping on Discord. So feel free to ask for mine if you want. Be warned! I don’t do hardly any OOC chatting though. It’s really a creative/RP platform for me.
I gotta be honest and include a disclaimer for discord, too, because I don’t want to host an unpleasant revelation. Please don’t ask for my discord if you’re not going to focus on rping, or our muses. I’m really terrible at small talk. I hate it. I can focus on creative writing, memes, our muses, anything fun - for hours!! But I’m literally not going to chat about politics or ask how was work, or talk about what I’m eating for dinner. UNLESS WE”RE TALKING ABOUT IT IN CHARACTER??? IDK. But otherwise, those kinds of conversations will make me ghost, instantly. I’m very sorry about this in advance, or if I’ve ever done it to anyone who has me added on discord, already. But being immersed in my muse is just something that I really and truly love. Please lemme live my best catshark life, and I’ll happily give you all the encouragement OR space that I can, too!
AND HAPPY (slightly early) VALENTINE’S DAY TO ALL OF YOU!!
(just in case I don’t get to send any messages on the date -- I will certainly be working.)

VIOLETS ARE BLUE.

WHO BELIEVES IN YOU.❞

Soon enough, Deuce’s searching for Viral took him outside the inn. He still had not eaten breakfast, but that was hardly his worry at this point in time. Ignoring his urge to stop by the kitchens or dining hall, Deuce headed outside and took a glance around. Viral was not far off, leaning against the wall and seated in silence.
“Are you ready to be off?” Deuce asked. “I’ll admit I haven’t eaten, but I know you have no need for such sustenance. Though…is eating something you’re capable of doing, or something you like? I suppose we could enjoy a meal together at some point.”
Deuce then cleared his throat. “Regardless. It’s time we be off to Stormwind. The city is not far…about an hour’s walk. I’m sure our chat will pass the time, no?” The mercenary offered his hand to the Captain, to help him rise, and then paced onwards.
While they walked down the road, Deuce continued to speak of some of Azeroth’s history. He discussed more about the Burning Legion, about the Third War and the fall of Quel’thalas, and about the recent invasion that had seen heroes from across Azeroth converge upon the Broken Isles. He spoke of his deeds amongst the Nightborne and Nightfallen in Suramar, and of the rebellion against Magistrix Elisande.
But the time passed swiftly, and soon they arrived amongst the towering white gates of Stormwind, near the statues of the heroes that stood tall in the entry. Deuce glanced up at Alleria Windrunner for a moment before turning his gaze back to Viral.
“Alas, we have arrived. You told me you have a meeting with King Anduin, yes?” Deuce tilted his head. “I could lead you to the castle. But it is there our paths diverge.”
@imherebecauseyourehere
🚀—“Join with yesterday's foe to smash fate,

with our own hands!
❝Eh? You shouldn’t neglect your energies. As it happens, I can enjoy a meal with you, and would gladly do so. And certainly I would prefer that to you going without!❞
Viral grasped Deuce’s hand to return to a standing posture; and it occurred to him that it could very well be the last time their hands would touch like that. Even through the gloves and armament, he could perceive the slender hand that he’d watched last night, scrawling studiously in that notebook. The last time he would see that, as well?
The Beastman listened, for the most part, to the recounted history of the world; though his mind was also preoccupied by the inevitable parting that must transpire in order for him to complete his summons... and for Deuce to continue his gallant, untamable journey.
Was he just going to issue his thanks and let that be the end of it? They hadn’t planned beyond the arrival to Stormwind, after all. Was... was Deuce glad for the reprieve? Did he prefer traveling alone? ...would he miss the Beastman? The blond shook his head, turning attention instead, to the massive, imposing statues that lined Stormwind’s walk.
The mercenary hadn’t mentioned his personal feelings at all, and Viral had to wonder what they were. It had been a pleasant journey, all considered. He would... he would miss Deuce’s company very much. Azeroth was a brilliant, diversified world; unfamiliarity wasn’t something he could afford to shirk from. ...and yet... he would rather discover its facets with Deuce’s insight, his wit, within their comfortable closeness. As he spoke, he didn’t look away from the towering statue of the Elf maiden that the mercenary had gazed upon. Else, his eyes might have conveyed the hint of dishonesty in his gladness to have arrived.
❝Alas, you say... No, I’m grateful to you. I could not have arrived so swiftly, and with such a grasp of understanding of the world’s history without you.
...thank you, Deuce.❞
Viral conjured a smile, for the Elf’s sake, and turned it upon his guide. Partings were just as important as the meetings they offered; he wasn’t bound to a single world. He’d met and departed from countless locations, bid farewell to countless beings of worthiness and good humor. Why was this instance so difficult to stomach? Deuce seemed to be accepting of the collaborative journey’s close; he could damn well manage that much, too.
❝I suppose this is farewell, for now.❞
He formed up the traditional parting bow of the Kaldorei, hoping that its sincerity would mitigate some of the somber sense of loss in dividing himself from Deuce’s company.

It seemed a mystery as to what the scavenger was hunting for. A reaction, merely picking the surface clean like the marrow of bones on a stolen meal. Would be that he could steal information in passing submission and none would ever be the wiser. Bellamy knew better. Danger had not given up on dogging what so many times had been left in the past. It’s etched into his face, his palms; the remnants of discord run wild behind the cover of shades. Regardless, there is a pleased heave of the chest now laid bare in the uncrossing of arms .
❝ Do they? I wonder… ❞ Every hint of feral nature muted beneath months of spotted trouble. He was not one to settle, not for long. But teeth found their own purpose over the course of well-spent idle time. A flick of the tongue against the backs of teeth. ❝ Heheh . ❞
But underlying motives bring curiosity to bare, a flash of white and back released from its comfortable place against an unevenly painted wall. Time spent without conversation outside an undisturbed rhythm of speech meant to answer a superior lead to a certain restlessness. What a bother it was to contain such energy. The stoic and loyal were not so willing to speak to strangers, but the blond had always been the friendly sort. Edge dulled, violent desires buried, he partakes comfortably in amiable conversation .
❝ Mmh ── might be. Guess the only way you’re going to find out is by getting me a few. ❞ Old natures surface in snarky remarks more playful than hostile. Far more entertaining than the typical inquiry and answer. An intrigued posture suggests he’s more than compliant without the offer he’s long since snatched. ❝ Haven’t had a real conversation in awhile. Lips could really use a bit of loosening . ❞
🚀—“Join with yesterday's foe to smash fate,
💫 — and grab tomorrow's path
with our own hands!”
It was uncanny; he knew that he was in the company of a Human, but the nature of his conversation partner reminded him of his own kind. Feral and unapologetic, he nearly reminded the Beastman of his own youth, by even the simplest gestures and words issued by the fair-haired pirate. It was problematic, only in the sense that Viral felt increasingly comfortable in the fellow predator’s company. It could have been the ruffians and hellions within his own companions, who had instilled an appreciation for the reckless qualities of Humanity, but either way he explained it, the results were the same. He would spare some coin and beckon a drink for the restless fellow.
❝Real conversations are a rarity by necessity, as I’ve seen thus far. But you don’t seem bothered by the tension that seems to weigh upon everyone else’s thoughts. A secret insight? Or are you just more hellbent on your own vision, that you can’t be bothered to pander to someone else’s concerns?❞
The Beastman permitted his companion to request the drink he preferred, himself. Viral didn’t often venture into drinking establishments, so he was unversed as to the types of drinks that the locals cherished. Olivine eyes surveyed his guest, noting the conditioned body and defiant stature -- this man was certainly a fighter.
Viral had posed his fair share of inquiries; he hoped inwardly that his belligerent new friend was truly obliging and offered up his side of the answers.
Nonetheless, he considered the engaging possibility that Bellamy would find additional welcome company aboard the Engann, with the rest of its crew.

unfortunate-rabbit:
Stunned by words of such weight, he promptly shook his head. Holding his hands up dismissively, humbled if not disagreeing someone was indebted. “ N… No no! It’s okay… Uhm… Although, I’m glad I found you too and… If I can be of assistance… ”
Words teetered out, and instead patiently waiting in silence for the stranger to gather his word. Curiosity piqued when he apparently did not have a friend, and the odd demeanor he seemed to have for his vehicle. Confusing at first, although he would soon get his answer as to why. Although it seemed odd to Unlucky, it wasn’t like he could judge the other. He’d just try and smile faintly. nodding slightly. “ Ah… I see… Uhm… I think it is good to put your faith in things… Sentimentality isn’t bad… It must mean a whole lot for you… ” Glancing over the carnage, Unlucky would sympathize with the other. Even though he couldn’t quite understand why this certain object, he had enough experience with losing things and people to know how it felt. “ I … hope… it can be recovered too. ” The sudden question directed at Unlucky made him visibly flinch. Anxiousness drowning him again as he almost sunk back, looking away. Reminders of what was lost. “ I don’t have… ”
Tugging at his ears nervously, he fell silent for a few seconds, leaving his initial thought. As much as he tried to hide it, his demeanor seemed to rather easily fall into melancholic. The loneliness was something he was all to familiar with, avoiding the topic of actual family swiftly. “ It’s alright, I… I live out here alone… It’s… very very far away from civilization… But it is gonna be a really long walk… I don’t think you can make it… No human really can… Uhm… ” Hesitance, trying to think of ways to help the stranger. After all, staying with Unlucky for too long well… There was a reason he was put out in the middle of nowhere. “ I could… Call for someone to get you to a city? Ah… You can stay with me meanwhile though… I have some food if you are hungry, although it’s not much… ”
🚀—“Join with yesterday's foe to smash fate,
💫 — and grab tomorrow's path
with our own hands!
The Beastman could understand that his methods were unfamiliar to his host, but he was certainly touched that Unlucky went to such an effort to find a middle ground of acknowledgement. This fellow... was very kind, indeed. He assured that the mecha would be collected, and almost certainly repaired. Reassuring Unlucky went a long way to reassuring himself, as amusing as he found it to be.
Navigating the unknowns of a foreign heart was just as crucial, and at times, risky as navigating uncharted space. Viral almost regretted that he broached the subject, as Unlucky’s reaction conveyed all that it needed, to the captain. It was a painful territory, it seemed, but Viral was glad to know not to tread upon it heedlessly. He also knew the ache of that lonlieness all to well, himself.
He dismissed the concept of walking back to town fairly quickly, and instead, wagered the value of his arrival here, on spending some more time with the lonely, but incredibly gentle individual before him. He spoke softly, and away from the subject of family and solitude -- even though he was certain that he could manage the walk into town (he wasn’t human, and fatigue wasn’t a problem for his enhanced biology) it appealed to him more, to learn more about his gracious present company.
❝I would be very grateful for the place to stay until I can contact my allies. But only if you’re certain that I wouldn’t be imposing upon you too much.❞
He strove to find a reason to suggest his presence, aside from the fact that he liked Unlucky very much, and he wanted to discover a way to repay the kindness that the rabbit-eared fellow had shown him.
❝I think it might be better for me to stay out here, and work on a relay signal to my comrades. I think I might cause a commotion if I heedlessly wandered into town. I won’t disturb you, but if there was some way that I could assist you while I’m here, in exchange, don’t hesitate to let me know.❞
The Beastman’s heart warmed to the brim when Unlucky offered to share what he had of his own sustenance. How was it that such a softhearted individual found themselves living alone, secluded from company, miles away from civilization? The arrangement stung of injustice, but he didn’t discount the fact that he was likely missing pieces of the whole ordeal. In the meantime, he hoped his company wasn’t too intrusive for his shy and reticent host.
❝I’ll never forget your thoughtfulness; but you don’t have to worry about dividing your food stores. My biology doesn’t require me to eat to survive, so I won’t be adding undue pressure upon your resources. I am deeply grateful for the offer, though.
I don’t need sleep, either, so you don’t have to worry about amending your usual schedule or accommodating my sleeping pattern, either. Keh, I hope to be a painless guest!❞

So it was military like? But… things still raised questions for them. It made no sense still. The way he spoke on it made it like he wasn’t from there at all. Maybe they were just really out of the know on such things? “Chronicler of living history”? What?
❝ I…. feel like I have more questions from this… honestly. ❞ It was the first thing Plum could say on that matter. Fixing themself in their wheelchair they stared to him.
❝ I’ve never heard of anyone known as a “Chronicler of living history” Or anything on military-like forces not being needed anymore. This sounds a bit sy-fy like in all honesty, like, something that would be in some movie or something or even in novels. ❞ It was the only way Plum could even see it or understand it almost. It just didn’t sound real and it all sounded like he was some sort of space time traveler.
Maybe they’re just really confused on it all and REALLY don’t understand a thing.

Too much, too fast?
He could be too forthright, at times. Perhaps it was better to leave it at that. Viral smiled and shook his head to dismiss the aspects of his story that seemed unbelievable. There was no merit in overwhelming his peaceable company, with unnecessary information. It was true that the young Human had asked, but he... he could have held back, truthfully. It would have been enough to give a less intricate answer. Viral tried again,
❝Well, those details could go on ad nauseam, but we don’t have to dwell on the uninteresting parts. It’s sufficient to say that I’m currently an ambassador of peace, and that I’m glad to meet you.❞
He bowed his head a bit, in decorum, and continued,
❝…part of my mission is to learn what I can about the people here, while we’re ...ah, visiting.
Is there anything I may ask about you?❞
His host had expressed a lack of familiarity with his presentation, but there wasn’t much in the way of fear. That was partially what had led Viral to believe that sharing further details was an acceptable tactic. He expected fear and confusion to follow hand in hand, and that usually indicated that he’d do better to play it safe and vague for the duration of their research. But this Human was different. A nice, pragmatic change, in a way.

protectorrs:
Maybe if she were normal, she’d react better to his touches, wouldn’t flinch at his helpful and kind gestures, but as it is she isn’t normal. Overhaul has made it abundantly clear that her existence, in general, is one of pain. If she ran away she’d only cause trouble to those who tried to help her. She knew this and yet here she is, unable to catch her breath after running with all her might for the past two minutes.
“…” She accepts his offered hand (notes how gentle it is…) and allows him to hoist her up, not having enough strength to do so herself. He asked a question, but Eri can’t seem to find her voice. She keeps jerking her head from either side, checking if Overhaul or any of his goons have caught up to her. There’s still no sign of them, but that couldn’t last for long… She needed to keep running. She couldn’t do so with this man in her way and he doesn’t seem like the type to just let her go. So upsetting, she really doesn’t want anyone else to get hurt!
“E-Eri…” She looks over her shoulder one more time. Her feet, raw as they are, make it difficult to stand in one position for too long, so she begins shifting her weight from one to the other. Maybe she can start running against once he looks away… That’ll give her enough time to breathe.
🚀—“Join with yesterday's foe to smash fate,
💫 — and grab tomorrow's path
with our own hands!
❝Eri, is it? That’s a good name.
Daring, and lovely, too. You’re a brave girl, Eri.
Mine is Viral. Viral Teppelin. You were headed this direction, weren’t you? We can go together. In fact, I could carry you.❞
He spoke soothingly, a faint, encouraging smile never fading from his mouth. But Viral was honest to a fault, and his eyes were incensed with a deep and boundless ire. Just what kind of hell had this child climbed out from? Her every motion, her every response, expounded volumes upon her fears and even mistreatment. ...as if the surplus of bandages weren’t enough to confide those dark secrets...
The Beastman pressed his thumb up beneath her fingers, her whole hand being too small to adequately encircle the single digit. But he could read her desperate desire to move on from that spot. If she was fleeing the site of cruelty, then he couldn’t take a chance in slowing her down. He rose to a standing posture and offered to leave with her,
❝It’s dangerous, right? Let’s hurry.❞
How far would they get before the enemy appeared? Where could he take her? Was it beyond UA to intervene? He didn’t have many answers, but he did have one truth: he would do anything it took to protect this child. Would she acquiesce to his company?
Moreover, he was a guest here, in this world. His purview, even as an honorary Hero under special conditions, was limited by the government, itself. And of course, without hesitation, if protecting this little girl meant that he had to violate the clause of his visitation contract.... then he would accept the consequences. Viral gave her hand a little squeeze,
❝Take heart, Little One.
No matter how fearsome or insurmountable the obstacles before you seem, don’t give up. They may try to fool you into thinking that you’re all alone, with false ceilings to cage you in, but there are as many caring hands as there are stars in the sky; so never stop reaching out.❞
That brave little hand of hers... its weightlessness, like a bird in his palm, reminded him of a dream he’d once had. He’d let go, back then, of that autumn child. Left behind a good dream, to contend with the endless truths and challenges, and joys of the waking world. Yet he loved her, even now. And even now, he remembered the tumbling laughter of the child he’d dreamed of, ringing like bells, as she was held fast and safe within his arms. That had been years ago. It was an old dream. But he would never forget that tiny hands had once planted their touch in his hair, upon his face. And he would never forget how it felt, to place her back upon the earth, knowing that goodbye was all that he could give her, by waking.
He wasn’t letting this little hand go.

Viral observed a moment of silence, in memory of what seemed to be the last ounce of this fellow’s vitality, as he all but dissolved into the seat offered prior. Even on those inhuman features, fatigue was evident throughout. The Beastman felt compassion for the chair’s occupant. Exhaustion wasn’t something he, himself, had to contend with (for a few decades, now) -- far from complacent about it, he tended to observe the conditions of those around him to gauge whether rest was due. That was more often for his comrades, and exclusively for their sake, but... it extended to unfamiliar entities, on occasion.
❝Think nothing of it.❞
He stood next to the specter, arms crossed over his chest in quiet assessment for a moment more. The fair-haired figure looked absolutely ransacked. Viral sighed inwardly; a break wasn’t going to be enough to put that mess back together. Even a glance could tell that much. He really didn’t have much clout where someone else’s affairs were concerned, but anyone could tell this fellow was wearing thin.
❝I‘m not expected anywhere for awhile. Did you... want to rest? A reprieve here won’t serve you as much as you may need, but even so, you could close your eyes for a bit. I could wake you within a time-frame, if you’re worried about making an appointment.❞
It was a considerate offer, in its own way. Viral couldn’t assess what was pushing the unusual individual to such self-neglect; but time was something he could spare freely, and thus, he didn’t hesitate. It wasn’t his world, and it wasn’t his business, but those were hardly reasons not to get involved, anyway. That too, was how the Chou Dai-Gurren Dan rolled.

🚀—“Join with yesterday's foe to smash fate,
💫 — and grab tomorrow's path
with our own hands!”
Ah, caught right in the act. There was no point in denying the very blatant facts.
The Beastman took a deep breath, and ignored the tinge of heat to his face, at being so unguarded with his curiosity. It had always been quite a strong trait. Feline eyes drift from the inhuman speaker, for just a moment’s worth of self-reproach, before Viral’s olivine gaze trained again, upon the stranger’s countenance.
❝That - ...that’s fine, don’t worry about it.
I apologize for my lack of discretion; but I’ve never seen a being like yourself, before, and I’ve... certainly put a few miles behind me. I’m not suggesting that I’ve already seen all there is by any means. But still. It was surprising.❞
His attention flickered all over the demon’s physiognomy -- gleaning as much visual input as he could while he spoke. The blond’s fascination was unbridled, even with all the diplomatic considerations he offered, verbally. A feral quality permeated his otherwise idle curiosity. It wasn’t as though Viral was necessary hunting the eldritch entity, but he was seemingly pleased with the novelty before him, in a candid, fearless way that only the truly adventurous -- or at least, the truly immortal, could display.
Having committed the brief but amusing interaction to a lasting memory, the chronicler’s expression warmed some, with tapered ivory slipping from behind a faint smile.
❝Now that I’ve seen and spoken with you, I won’t forget you.
A photograph isn’t necessary for that.❞

unfortunate-rabbit:
It was a relief to see the other smile so brightly. Smiles were good, and it wasn’t often he got to see those anymore. Whilst it helped lessening the anxious worry, it didn’t render it obsolete. Particularly when his attention was brought to the term ‘we’. Did he have a friend around? He’d glance around, as if looking for someone else.
“ That’s… that’s good… I’m glad it wasn’t… more severe… ” Looking at the vehicle and crater, it was severe enough. Quite honestly it was a miracle he hadn’t been hurt worse, something that was rare for Unlucky to see. More often than not, the worst of the worst happened. Not that he wasn’t grateful at the moment, but it was certainly a surprise.
Thoughts interrupted when the stranger presented himself, Unlucky promptly got nervous for entirely different reasons. Waving his hands in the air, he wasn’t sure how to react to the stranger so respectfully bowing down to him. A soft squeak, before glancing away. “ Ah… It’s… it’s alright, I’m told I get… easily scared… ” He’d lean his head down, bowing down slightly in return, although not fully committing. Stuck between deciding if he should return the custom or not. But at the very least, he had no issue presenting himself back. “ I’m… People just call me Unlucky… It’s uh… nice… to meet you… ” Ah, probably not the best to say. “ N… not in these circumstances- maybe but uhm… ”
What was he supposed to say in this situation? It was certainly a first for him, he wasn’t quite sure how to react. It brought him back to his earlier concern. “ Is your… uhm… your friend alright…? I can’t see them… ”

What a gentle fellow; that was the captain’s deepest impression of the one who called himself Unlucky. The name seemed a little callous, but he couldn’t judge the customs of a place to which he’d only just arrived. Viral offered a bit in the way of reassurance, as a gentler facet of his nature was tugged to the surface, by the hesitant but compassionate words and efforts of his present company.
❝I’m indebted, Unlucky. The crash wasn’t too grievous, and I have experienced worse. Ah, and I’m glad that you met me out here. It would have been a lonely trek towards civilization, otherwise.❞
He watched the nervous waves of motion and concern course their way through the peculiar fellow’s conduct. The Beastman was thankful that this person was the one to receive him after an arduous landing. He didn’t have to act with defensiveness or alarm, though he did worry that he was causing too much of both for his host, instead.
❝Ah, no, I’m here alone. I just...❞
Viral paused, and gestured towards the battered remnants of the Ganmen he had crashed while piloting. A respectful silence meditated before he spoke again, an apologetic, but still resolute smile to his sharper features,
❝I just included this mecha, to give the Ganmen here his full dues for being such a resilient shield between myself and the impact. It might seem strange, because this is a machine, just a mech, but... after so many years working and living so closely to them, I’m given towards being a little sentimental from time to time.❞
The blond shrugged a shoulder, rotating it loosely to condition regenerated muscle tissue, and refocused his attention back to the fair-faced young stranger.
❝What about yourself? Do you reside alone out here? Or do I have amends to make for disturbing your family, as well?❞
