I connected another few more dots thanks to this tweet (please don’t swarm I don’t know if they’re okay with that but I feel obligated to credit them for making this connection)

Op theorized that Rudo’s white hair may be an allusion/reference to “Mary Antoinette syndrome.”

One thing is important here: Urana is very inspired by Western folklore/mythology, if Jabber being a reference to the Jabberwocky poem isn’t enough, if the ties to Greek mythology through Typhon/Cerberus isn’t enough either…idk what to tell you.

So. Why is this interesting? La da da, the scientific name for Mary Antoinette syndrome is

Lucky for y’all, I’m a second generation Latin nerd who studied Latin at the same high school my mom did and took it in college for a bit too. My mom bullied me into memorizing latin prefixes at a young age.

Here’s a little breakdown for those who don’t know Latin: like English, Latin is made up prefixes and suffixes. Unlike English, the prefixes are their own words. The suffix depends on how the word is being applied. Like professor versus profession. They both have “profess-” in the beginning, same Latin prefix, but…

Okay it’s been awhile god dammit, I don’t know how to explain it and I dropped out of college Latin because it was too hard. Just understand it.

So.

The prefix in Canities subita is “Cani.”

Cani is a conjugation of Canis, like Canis Surebrec, meaning dog.

But…in actuality the prefix is canit.

However…they still connect.

“Canit” and “Canis” are both conjugations of the Latin word “canere” [canō, canere, cecinī / canī cantātum <- evil language], specifically the “active indicative present” form of canere (do you understand why I dropped Latin 1)

“Canere” means “to sound, to sing, to horn.”

This relates to something else I’ve been thinking.

The Sphere is obviously inspired by the biblical Heaven, and Typhon is a serpent beast, which the Bible is full of. The leviathans are serpents, the fallen angel Lucifer first appears as a serpent.

Of course, as a young southern woman, I’ve been hearing about the rapture since I was a little baby.

For those who don’t know, the rapture is the little doses of prophecies that allude to the book of Revelation in earlier books in the New Testament.

Believers of the rapture mainly point to these sections of Corinthians and Thessalonians:

“…We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.”

1 Corinthians 15:51-52

“For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.”

1 Thessalonians 4:14-18

What’s a synonym for a trumpet…?

A horn. Lol. Both are used to “sound” something, or to announce something. Military trumpets in the morning, all that.

The rapture itself is seen as what comes before the “little period of Satan” or when God tests the unbelievers in 7 years of actual hell on Earth.

Well, some say the rapture is at the end, but I don’t believe that’s true. This is a very good video that goes over the book of Revelations.

After the rapture, there comes the antichrist, which is supposed to be a direct mirror to Christ. So, there is a being that represents Satan, but claims to be the messiah (Christ).

He unites the world under one banner, or one nation, and swears all must pledge allegiance to the antichrist. Like a ruler of the Earth…of the ground. (Imagine 500 Mymos in your head right now)

Since Christianity is over two thousand years old and if you add ancient Semitic religions (what Judaism sprang from), it’s based on like another 3 thousand years of interpretation, there’s a lot of interpretations of the New Testament. The Antichrist is sometimes interpreted as the first horseman of the apocalypse, riding a white horse, who wears a crown and represents conquest and pestilence (disease). If you’ve watched the music video for Ghost’s “Rats,” you’ll make the connection.

The second rides a red horse and uses a great sword, representing war and bloodshed.

The third rides a black horse, and carries a balance scale, and represents famine. (Hi Canis~~)

The fourth horseman, rides a “pale horse” (beige?) and represents Death, or Hades. He’s the one that brings about the final culling. The one who causes the “stars to fall,” making darkness descend.

Mmm yummy. The number 4.

So…um. Man this kinda went off topic.

I got here because of hair color? Fuck. Literal tower of Babylon held up by a vertical 4x4 plank of wood. But…like, this is still interesting, right?

So…I was thinking, “what if the Sphere is supposed to represent the rapture, and the trash represents the punishment of the ‘unbelievers’ but the people of the ground never got the message?”

So maybe the eternal heaven never came.

Maybe the ground is still ruled by someone who alludes to the biblical antichrist.

Why does the hair color matter…? I forgot to mention this until now. Uhh…Rudo may have incredibly severe trauma and it caused his hair to go white and that is known scientifically as canities subita (sub means below btw).

Did I hurt myself with this stretch?

Yes. Yes I did and it hurts real bad.

Additionals:

1. Typhon from the Greek myth is the son of Gaia and Tartarus, or the son of the heavens (Sphere) and Hell (the Ground).

And if you’re reading my fic, Impasse, I bring up a contradiction in my current theory.

How come Givers can also use the watchman series, if I believe that Receivers exist, and have different anima abilities from Givers?

This is my reconciliation. I think there’s a third subset, people who are both. In my au, Tamsy is one of these people. It’s handy.

This is one of the symbols the four people associated with Macaca Icol. Like I’ve mentioned in a previous post, this one reminds me of mana/magic.

Now it also reminds me of the sparkling clean symbols we put in cartoons and ads, all that.

Do I win the “most batshit fandom post” award on tumblr? I mean I’m sure there’s more wild ones out there, but I think this post represents a very disturbing level of obsession that is required for someone to even think of this.
