Your twenties are the best years of your life. You're freedom is fresh enough to be enjoyed uninhibited, you will do things simply because no one has the authority to stop you. For the first time in your life you can do as you please, and this will inevitably lead to mistakes, but they are the best mistakes you will ever make, because you made them on your own and you are fully responsible for them. As you age, the novelty of freedom will wear off. Don't let it die. Embrace the abilities and opportunities you have, they could disappear at any second. Do things simply because you can, the day you can't may be tomorrow.

When he says I look sad, those longing gazes, I am stealing pieces of him to keep as my own. One day I won't have the chance, the privilege, to capture those moments with my possessive eyes. These glares are mine forever. I can store them, I can cherish them, I can remember them when he is gone, as he inevitably will be one day. And I press a cold glass to my lips as I write this, he listens intently to the sounds of the bar. He is genuinely oblivious, honestly content. But I know, I feel, that he is not mine forever. So I will steal what I can while I can. Pieces of him to remember when this has faded into the past.

We’ve got to distract them. They should be watching the Superbowl or sitcoms or violent movies. Every once in a while you call on them to chant meaningless slogans like ‘Support our troops.’ You’ve got to keep them pretty scared, because unless they’re properly scared and frightened of all kinds of devils that are going to destroy them from outside or inside or somewhere, they may start to think, which is very dangerous, because they’re not competent to think. Therefore it’s important to distract them and marginalize them.

I am a human being. I was not made for this kind of life. I am not cut out for the rat race. I have aspirations that surpass the immediate goals society has impressed upon me. I am forced, I feel compelled, to correct the ills I see every day, but it wears me so thin. How can you endlessly consume without regard for the consequences of your gluttony? How can you hurt others, those you don't even know, because it lines your pockets? The way we treat each other as a means rather than individual ends breaks my spirit and corrodes my morale. This is not what we exist for, in a perpetual search for material gain. We step on each other to get ahead. What kind of life is that? It's a sickness, a disease we are so infected with we've come to accept and even charish it. I see children, young girls in pink striped onsies clutching their cuddley toys and gazing up to their mothers, standing barely two feet high on wobbley legs. Are they infected yet? Is it already too late to save them? No, but it soon will be, as they already frequent Starbucks and no doubt observe Mommy and Daddy's greedy ways daily. Their soft brains are ripe for infection, and we have yet to find a cure for this dangerous ailment.
