If you just found out you're queer and you're panicking about it ("i'm going to ruin my relationship with my parents!! I'm going to die! Everything is different now! What if my friends hate me?") then i'm holding your hands as i say this.

This panic you're feeling? It won't last forever. Every single queer person goes through it. There will come a point where your new identity will fit so well that you won't even care about coming out/staying stealth with people. There will come a point where you feel as comfortable with your queernesd as you did when you thought you were cishet.

Being queer can be scary and unsafe. But it's also joyful and beautiful, because being queer is embracing love (or lack thereof, hiya aspecs <3)!

Reach out to other queer people. Find a support system of people like you. And that grief and panic you're feeling will go away and leave you to be your true self, i promise <3

Compilation of queer terms for any new community members <3

Transfem - a trans person who is feminine-aligned. Could mean a trans woman or a non-binary person who feels close to the female gender.

Transmasc - a trans person who is masculine-aligned. Could mean a trans man or a non-binary person who feels close to the male gender.

Transneutral - a non-binary person who feels aligned neither with the female gender nor with the male one

Egg - trans person who hasn't realized they're trans yet! (It's not cool to call out people for being eggs irl usually, it can be a delicate subject; you can suggest the idea of them potentially being trans tho!)

Enby/Enban - short word for non-binary people! Boy, girl, enby, man, woman, enban (plural is enben). (These terms might not be your thing, but don't be shittin' on them! Nothing wrong with an extra word.)

Xenogenders - non-binary genders that align with concepts, like pupgender or stargender or robotgender! (Make sure to always respect xenogenders, those are your siblings even if you think their pronouns are weird)

Neopronouns - new pronouns like xe/xem, ae/aer, fae/faer, and more! You use them by putting the first word (so xe, in the case of xe/xem) where you'd put he or she in a sentence (he talked to me. Xe talked to me.), and the second word (so xem, in the case of xe/xem) where you'd put him or her in a sentence (i talked to him. I talked to xem.). That's it! Pretty simple, but if you get confused you can ask the person for clarification on their pronoun use

Tranny, fag, dyke, sissy - slurs! These are slurs. You can say them if you belong to the group they refer to (trans for tranny, gay for fag and sissy, lesbian for dyke), but don't use them for another person unless you know they're okay with it

HRT - hormone replacement therapy. It's when you take estrogen or testosterone to physically transition your body to have traits matching the way you want to look

Medical transition - changing your body through hormones or surgery to look more like the gender you really are (not necessarily male or female)

Social transition - dressing and introducing yourself as the gender you really are

Intersex - a person who was born with ambiguous sex traits! They might have no uterus and ovaries, or xxy chromosomes, or ambiguous genitals, or other stuff; they're really cool people! Also don't use the word hermaphrodite, that's a slur. Yes, even for animals.

Perisex - just people who are not intersex! This includes people who have medically transitioned with HRT and stuff :D

AMAB/AFAB/AGAB - your assigned sex at birth. It's usually the sex on your passport! AGAB stands for assigned gender at birth, AMAB stands for assigned male at birth, and AFAB stands for assigned female at birth! These are terms made in the intersex community though, so to communicate that you have a certain set of sex traits, it's better that you use wolffian or müllerian!

Wolffian or close-to-Wolffian - a person with typically male anatomy, like XY chromosomes and a penis. (This includes trans men and others who have medically transitioned with testosterone/surgery!)

Müllerian or close-to-Müllerian - a person with typically female anatomy, like XX chromosomes, boobs and a vagina. (This includes trans women and others who have medically transitioned with estrogen/surgery!)

Transmisogyny - bigotry specifically targeted toward trans women/transfems

Transmisogynoir - bigotry specifically targeted toward black trans women/transfems

Transandrophobia - bigotry specifically targeted toward trans men/transmascs

Exorsexism - bigotry specifically targeted toward non-binary people

Intersexism - bigotry specifically targeted toward intersex people

Aspec - in the spectrum of 'a-' sexualities! This includes asexual, aromantic, asensual, aplatonic, afamilial, and more!

Arospec, acespec - apart of the (aromantic, aro, or asexual, ace) spectrum! There are lots of specific ace and aro labels, so arospec and acespec are umbrella terms to just mean "in there"

Things to remember:

Use people's correct pronouns when it's safe

People can have multiple genders or none! Sometimes people's gender changes. People are cool!

You can identify literally however you want, labels are just words to describe how you feel. This includes transmasc lesbians and male women and other 'contradictory' labels.

Don't police the way people use their own pronouns or identify themselves, it's not hurting anyone for that person to identify as a stargender trixic star/star/it/its person. Live and let live!

No matter what anyone says, other queer people are not your enemy. Those are your siblings! They love you! <3

Mostly because it’s all white men, and their issue isn’t that they don’t like songs being sampled, they’re just racist. Y’all had no problem when they made “Fast Car” mainstream country, even though it was a Tracy Chapman song first (A black female artist), but as soon as a black woman makes a song that covers another song, which is also a cover ( “Somebody that I used to know” was a sample of the song “Seville” by Brazilian guitarist Luiz Bonfá) people are all up in arms about how they’re ruining music. Pissing me the fuck off. Music was meant to be sampled from and inspiration was meant to be taken from other artists, like how music originally most like was a mimicry of birds.
