          “  don’t  think  i  won’t  .  ”  maybe  she  needed  to  add  ‘  must  be  able  and  willing  to  reach  things  on  high  shelves  ’  to  her  list  of  must - haves  for  hiring  new  security  personnel  .  now  that  she  thinks  about  it  ,  it’s  not  a  half  bad  idea  .  “  i  just  think  the  color’s  absolutely  gorgeous  .  ”  she  gushes  ,  hand  laying  flat  on  the  bag’s  side  as  deep  brown  eyes  studied  the  ornate  structure  .  “  too  distracting  ...  too  tacky  .  i  think  you’re  right  .  ”  she  says  after  a  moment  ,  accompanied  by  a  small  nod  of  her  head  .  “  it’s  like  ...  why  would  i  need  to  scream  out  that  i’m  wearing  louis  vuitton  when  everyone  knows  i’m  that  bitch  anyways  ?  i’d  be  doing  too  much  .  ”

      she  didn’t  care  about  whoever  else  was  at  imogen’s  party,  because  no  matter  where  they  went ; it  was  always  just  them.  in  a  room  of  a  hundred  people,  juno  and  imogen  were  GOOD  at  acting  like  it  was  just  the  two  of  them.  lost  in  their  own  little  world,  wrapped  up  with  each  other  both  physically  and  mentally.  juno  can  vividly  remember  nights  where  they’d  be  in  complete  different  countries,  complete  different  timezones,  but  still  making  the  effort  to  talk  even  for  just  a  few  moments.  juno  starting  to  doze  off  on  her  end,  listening  to  the  sounds  of  imogen  quietly  moving  around  her  tour�� bus  in  the  early  morning  and  some  muted  conversations  happening  somewhere  in  the  background.  a  part  of  her  missed  those  nights,  the  two  of  them  giggling  on  the  phone  as  they  talked  about  ridiculous  signs  they  saw  in  their  crowd  that  night,  followed  by  a  moment’s  silence.  not  an  awkward  one,  but  more  so  the  two  of  them  enjoying  each  other’s  company  ;  but  she’d  never  admit  those  feelings  to  imogen.  she  doesn’t  try  to  ask  herself  why,  in  fear  of  what  truths  may  spill  OUT  of  herself  if  she  picked  any  deeper  at  those  old  wounds. 

      it  feels  like  her  palms  are  SWEATING,  juno  wiping  them  on  the  fabric  of  her  jeans  just  as  the  door  gets  pulled  open.  so  there  really  is  no  turning  back  now,  huh  ??  a  soft  exhale  leaves  the  blondes  lips  just  at  the  sight  before  her,  as  if  she  hadn’t  seen  imogen  a  MILLION  and  one  times  before.  but  hey,  juno  swore  that  each  time  was  BETTER  than  the  last.  but  a  breathy  laugh  leaves  her  lips,  a  soft  grin  playing  on  the  edge  of  her  lips  as  imogen  makes  comment  on  her  timing.  ❝  sorry,  sweetheart.  didn’t  get  to  call  in  my rsvp  without  the  invite.  ❞  it’s  playful  banter  of  course,  that  same  grin  never  once  faltering  from  juno’s  lips  as  she  melts  into  the  kiss  on  her  cheek.  but  when  imogen  comments  on  how  she  MISSED  juno,  that’s  when  her  grin  quivers.  cause  yeah,  it  wasn’t  rocket  science  to  see  the  feelings  were  obviously  reciprocated.  ❝  i  missed  you  too.  ❞  she  all  but  WHISPERS  it,  the  pad  of  her  thumb  caressing  into  the  skin  of  imogen’s  hand.  but  juno,  always  one  to  never  take  her  emotions  seriously,  paints  that  grin  back  onto  her  face.  ❝  s t a y  ?  well,  i  HAVE  to.  you’re  having  a  party  without  me,  and  that  just  isn’t  gonna  fly.  ❞

          even  when  they’re  through  ,  even  when  they’re  over  ,  it  feels  as  if  all  imogen  knows  is  loving  her  ---  worrying  about  her  .  because  the  stupid  truth  is  that  juno’s  always  lingering  in  the  back  of  her  mind  .  she’d  spent  so  much  time  in  her  head  that  imogen  is  sure  she’d  be  able  to  recognize  her  from  the  way  her  breath  fell  alone  ,  or  the  way  her  lips  turned  upwards  in  a  smirk  when  she  was  being  a  little  shithead  (  for  lack  of  better  term  )  .  if  only  it  was  easy  to  relay  that  out  loud  as  it  was  to  know  it  .  imogen  doesn’t  need  to  say  it  though  ----  she  screams  it  in  the  way  she  always  goes  back  ;  the  way  she  watches  her  with  those  deep  brown  ,  doe  eyes  of  hers  with  a  certain  tenderness  she  doesn’t  bother  to  muster  up  for  anyone  else  .  she’s  giving  her  that  same  look  right  now  ,  feeling  the  electricity  of  her  touch  on  the  back  of  her  hand  .  it’s  no  secret  that  imogen  is  a  fool  for  her  ...  no  matter  how  much  she  tries  to  keep  it  to  herself  .

          but  that  sweetly  gaze  is  soon  overtaken  by  a  fond  roll  of  her  eyes  when  than  grin  is  plastered  onto  juno’s  face  once  more  .  her  friends  are  really  gonna  grill  her  about  this  later  .  imogen’s  always  ‘  over  it  ’  until  she  lays  eyes  on  her  features  again  ,  and  then  it’s  like  nothing  ever  happened  .  dazzling  smile  pulls  on  the  corners  of  her  lips  ,  reaching  out  to  shove  at  the  blonde’s  shoulder   .  “  it’s  not  a  party  without  you  ,  darling  ,  you  know  that  .  ”  now  ,  manicured  hand  is  reaching  out  to  grab  a  hold  of  her  hand  ,  eagerly  tugging  her  inside  to  join  in  on  the  small  gathering  .  suddenly  ,  she  wants  everyone  else  to  leave  .  her  plan  had  worked  :  juno  was  here  now  ,  but  she  hadn’t  really  thought  past  that  .  she  never  does  .  fingers  lazily  lace  together  with  hers  ,  though  her  pace  quickens  as  she  pulls  her  towards  the  kitchen  ,  “  actually  ,  it’s  a  good  thing  you’re  here  ,  ‘cause  i  need  you  to  climb  up  on  the  counter  and  get  another  wine  glass  from  the  top  shelf  .  ”  she  says  without  missing  a  beat  ,  batting  her  eyelashes  and  gesturing  up  towards  the  cabinet  .  “  i  would  ,  babes  ,  but  ...  ”  she  trails  off  ,  gesturing  down  to  her  heels  .  the  same  excuse  she  always  uses  .  “  i  can’t  hurt  my  ankle  ,  ‘cause  then  i’ll  be  confined  to  wearing  nothing  but  sneakers  !!  and  ,  honestly  ,  that  sounds  like  living  hell  !  ”

          the  stem  of  the  wine  glass  sits  gingerly  between  her  fingers  ,  glossed  lips  resting  in  its  perpetual  pout  as  she  pondered  over  levi’s  statement  .  an  impulsive  rendez - vous  to  france  does  sound  awfully  fun  .  she  can  stand  to  be  in  the  world’s  fashion  capital  for  a  moment  ---  it’s  no  secret  that  she  likes  to  exercise  her  black  amex  quite  often  .  manicured  nails  tap  against  the  glass  ,  bringing  the  rim  up  to  meet  her  lips  .  “  didn’t  realize  you  were  a  mind  reader  now  ,  darling  .  ”  words  accompanied  by  a  melodious  little  giggle  ,  happily  taking  another  sip  of  the  wine  .  “  the  bullshit’s  fun  though  ,  mon  ami  ,  when  it’s  got  nothing  to  do  with  you  .  ”  ever  the  shit - stirrer  ,  she  was  .  “  ...  unless  you’ve  got  something  to  tell  me  ?  ”

          caz definitely could pretend he has no idea what she’s doing, but he knows her well enough by now — this friendship between them may have started out as a DEMAND from their parents, but it’s turned into something genuine enough. the jury still may be out on whether he truly enjoys her company or if he merely finds her antics AMUSING, but there is a certain fondness he’s come to associate with her. regardless, he still huffs out an annoyed sigh,       “ are you REALLY cold or are you just trying to make away with another one of my hoodies ?? i don’t have an endless supply, you know. ”     his gaze doesn’t turn toward her, only wanders from the tv down to his phone as it buzzes in his lap. imogen will likely get another sweatshirt regardless of his protests or not, but it makes him feel fractionally better to at least offer a token of resistance.

          manicured  hands  paw  through  his  closet  ,  pulling  faces  as  she  critiqued  his  various  clothing  options  in  her  head  .  “  ...  both  ?  ”  hey  ,  at  least  she  was  transparent  .  “  can  i  pick  which  one  i  get  this  time  ,  ‘cause  some  of  these  honestly  aren’t  cutting  it  .  ”  she  says  ,  nose  scrunching  up  in  distaste  ,  ponytail  swinging  with  vigor  as  her  head  whipped  around  to  look  at  him  .  “  i  think  i  need  to  take  you  shopping  ,  cazzy  ,  then  you’ll  have  even  more  hoodies  and  they’ll  actually  be  cute  !  ”  she  clasps  her  hands  together  upon  finding  a  sweater  she  deems  worth  her  while  ,  plucking  it  from  the  rack  ,  dangling  the  hanger  on  her  fingers  .  “  cazzy  boy  .  i  think  this  is  the  one  !  ”  voice  sing - song  and  peppy  ,  “  okay  ,  okay  .  this  ---  ”  she  holds  the  white  hoodie  up  to  her  torso  ,  “  with  some  platform  boots  ,  right  ?  so  chic  .  ”  eyes   narrow  a  bit  ,  head  tilting  to  the  side  ,  “  are  you  even  listening  to  me  ?  ”

             ogling  over  the  far  overpriced  louis  vuitton  belt  buckle,  gabriel  has  run  himself   quite  the  bill  on  this  week’s  shopping  excursion  with  imogen .  without  batting  an  eye,  this  trip  alone  likely  runs  him  near  a  few  thousand  –  that’s  being  modest.  imogen  and  gabriel  might  not  agree  on  much ,  but  they  do  see  eye  to  eye  on  one  very  important  thing .  luxury  fashion.  he  lets  out  a  sigh  and  turns,  hearing  the  familiar  ‘darling’  calling  out  to  him.  “ we’re  gonna  start  carrying  a  little  ladder  for  you.  this  is  getting  real  exhausting. ”  he  jokes  under  his  breath,  making  his  way  over.  gabriel  grabs  the  bag,  looking  over  it.  “ now  –  normally,  i  love  the  pastel   aesthetic.  i  do.  but …  i’m  not  sure  about  this  one…”
