“I bet places have been influenced by interactions with other places”
What are you even supposed to say to that??? What answer was he aiming for???
Like yeah, I fukin hope so???? When two groups interact they usually influence each other to some degree, good job having like, a basic understanding of cause and effect???
Like that’s such a weird sentence. That’s like saying “I bet America was influenced by Canada and Mexico” yeah, that’s what happens when you share borders and occasionally fight.
Today I was talking with an acquaintance about traveling abroad and different countries in Europe.
I said, “I really want to visit Poland again.”
And he goes, “Yeah! Poland has been influenced a lot by like Germany and the Soviet Union, right?”
…and I felt hundreds of Polish fans leaning forward and I imagined Feliks just sitting with his legs crossed giving me the death glare. And I truly just froze as I struggled to come up with a coherent answer to this question.
…and finally I just said, very slowly, very deliberately, “Poland is Polish.”
And he goes, again, “Yeah, but I bet they’ve been influenced a lot.”
And I still didn’t really know what to say, so like a broken robot I go, “Yeah but Poland is Polish.”

DID SOMEONE SAY AMECHU???
That alone is enough to bring this blog back from the grave.
Tumblr media
The dynamic is really just
“He’s the only one who takes me seriously” and “he’s the only one who doesn’t act so serious around me” and it’s just really good. Each one brings what the other lacks and they bring out the best in each other and hhhhhhh
(Plus I am a huge sucker for Al having the most ridiculous crush on him like just a single smile gets him blushing and tripping over his words cause like oh my god you’re so hot and so smart and talented and good at everything and gorgeous and I’m just a loser like I’m not even cool-)
Underrated America ships?
Ah yes, my favorite topic.

On the subject of number 4
I bet the group did a “nose goes” (which is where someone says that and the last person to put a finger on their nose has to do whatever the group can’t decide on) and England didn’t actually know what it was so he just stood their watching everyone touch their noses like “is this one of those ‘memes’ the kids are taking about????”
So he has to go to the big meetings representing everyone in the group.
Questions
1.Do the nations have their own options on stuff like ghost or politics or what their citizens think?
2.Who gets an personification? We have japan'cities and other
Mr newspaper
A boat
Microntions
And other I cant think of
3.What counts as an underrated ship? Because one of ship I put a little thing next to is not very popular in the west maybe but is very popular in Japan
My favorite underrated ship are
Ameliet-America X Lithuania
Engport-England x Portugal
Spuk-Uk x Spain
Ameripan-America X Japan @
4.What should we call him?
It is England which the country name, Britain which the island that Scotland,Wales and England are in, or uk which the those countries and northern Ireland
1. I think they have their own opinions. They are influenced by what their people think but ultimately they are still their own person too.
2. I think it gets a personification if it represents a unique population that has its own collective identity as a group and feels strongly enough about its identity to separate it from those around it. To me that mostly means countries/nations/tribes, but could possibly also extend to states and cities. I personally am not a fan of the micro nations and I take things like Mr. Newspaper and the boat as sort of one-offs since Hima never came back to them or explained how they exist. I don’t regard them as a part of my personal canon at all.
3. It’s hard to put a metric on that but I’d say anything that gets less than 1 update per week in its tumblr tag (from different people, since one person producing a lot of content doesn’t necessarily make it popular). Of course it will vary between eastern and western fandom though. I think Ameripan is the Japan ship of choice for western fans but for eastern fans it’s Asakiku.
4. Call him England, that is the country he represents. The other countries of the UK/Britain have their own representatives, England just tends to act as their collective representative abroad.

Tbh I “ship” them is really unconventional ways. Cause like aushun always felt like they had good platonic character chemistry but I could never really see them like MARRIED married.
And lietpol sort of feels like “I love you to pieces but living together we drive each other crazy so we’re going to adore each other from separate homes”
Irl maybe it’s just cause my idea of “love” is skewed by the fact that I don’t really “fall in love” like the rest of y’all seem to (I still feel like you’re all exaggerating a bit with the “I saw this person and immediately wanted to sex them” bit like that’s just unrealistic tbh)
but idk. Two people can love each other and not work as a married couple and that doesn’t mean they don’t love each other anymore. Sometimes you try to move in together and you just don’t vibe living in the same house. Sometimes two people like living together and building a household but they never have sex. Sometimes two people just outgrow each other and they both move on and it’s all happy and good!
Basically what I’m saying here is this fandom needs to stop being basic with how they write ships and that’d solve like at least 65% of our problems.
look im not saying that if you ship arranged marriege/union ships (aushun, lietpol, others idc about, etc.) youre a clown.... but youre on pretty thin ice

Each and every day I’m more and more tempted to go back to my idea for a “Hetalia but not” where I basically redo the entire series while changing just enough that it’s unrecognizable but if I told you it was redlined Hetalia it would be Very Obvious.
Cause the plan was make the thing then ask all the people who are blatantly antagonizing ya to review it and watch them love it and then after everyone knew they liked it, once a fandom had developed and everyone got attached, to reveal the entire thing.
Thus proving that really the only problem was the horrific early writing and that the actual concept, the actual cast, has so much potential and deserves a second chance.
don't get me wrong i love hetalia dearly and i'm excited for new content but also i want to go back to a week ago when nobody gave a fuck about anything

The rest don’t have rights because Kugelmugel took all the rights but that’s the natural order of things.
I’m sorry to anyone who holds the micronations in high regards, but the only valid ones are Seborga, Wy, and Kugelmugel. The rest of them don’t get rights. That’s just how it is.

I’m quite intrigued by the idea that canon is finally embracing the fact that this is really a concept suited to existential horror rather than strictly comedy
Okay so hetalia s7 just got added to my anime list and-

I really don’t think you guys fully understand How Much these characters mean to me.
Like even if my adhd drifts me away from the fandom and along to other things (currently Hades Game but that’s a different can of worms) the characters never stop being relevant to my life.
There was a period where I set alarms for everything I had to do every day, and instead of naming them like “eat food” or “go outside” they would be messages from the characters.
Alfred, especially, is like... I do t know how to explain it. I project on him a lot.
My brain likes to fuck me up. Take things that shouldn’t have any bearing on my mental health and bash me over the head with them cause it knows that trying to deal with or even acknowledging the feeling is only going to make it worse.
A lot of times I wake up wishing I’d never been born, thinking “wow, look at me! The world doesn’t need me i should just die and stop taking up oxygen that could be used for someone who matters!”
And the worst part is it’s not wrong per sey. I came to this point using logic and facts. Every opportunity I seize would be better afforded to someone from worse circumstances. Every accomplishment I make is dulled by the fact that statistically I didn’t achine anything at all. And I can’t talk about it with anyone cause that means I’m self centered and make everything about me. The world would, from a statistical point of view, be better without me. Me being born was kind of a shit idea.
But giving up, rolling over and dying isn’t going to help anyone either.
Cause regardless of how bad of an idea it was, the universe saw fit to bring me screaming into the mortal plane anyway! I’m here! And I’m too damn scared to ever die! I’m in too deep now! I got a book draft and a cat to feed and a dnd group that I’ve hyped my campaign up on SO HARD so I better deliver ya know?
And I see myself when I look at him.
Too deep to back out, got people relying on you, not sure you deserve to be happy but you do t exactly have much else going for you so you smile anyway and try to make other people smile cause it’s really all you’ve got.
