Equality vs. Equity...which is which?
Why is there a need to have equity? Of course all of the people who are in the venue or let’s say concert paid the same amount of ticket. They went there to have fun and to enjoy. However, there is someone there in the wheelchair. He also paid the same amount as the others; however, he can’t feel what the others experience because there is a tendency for him to be stepped upon if ever there is a stampede for example. There already comes in the concept of equity. Its actually more than being unselfish. Ots more of thinking about the welfare of the majority. And its like deviating from the harsh reality of the actions of human kind.
Equity vs. Equality is actually the phrase I often hear every time I see this kind of photo. I was able to see that in this modern world where everybody seems to mind only themselves. I was able to realize that there still really are people who are willing to set aside their own ego and help someone who needs not just help but a hand who will be there to hold him sincerely. If you were to be asked, which would you consider; equality or equity? Try to ask yourself. Are you one of those of the majority? Or are you one of those who care about humility?

A Reflection Paper on Various Learning Difficulties
You are special, you are unique, There is acceptance you can seek. You’re not different you belong. Come join with us and sing this song… These line some of the lyrics of the song that we have made; which until today, I could still recall over and over again. I found the tone very easy to sing along and the melody really gave me a soothing feeling. But behind all these, our main focus is the message of the song. Which only emphasizes the concept of UNITY IN DIVERSITY. This only tells us that each of us have our own roles to portray in the society and with that, we also need to socialize to be able to grow and develop holistically. However, this is not an easy or let’s say a simple thing to do for some of us. They may have a hard time to fit in or in most cases, the people that surround them are the ones that make it hard for them to fit into the environment. Which alters the very same concept have stated just above. But in the first place, that’s really the major focus that we have taken into account—to spread an awareness or even just a reminder that the people should focus on the person and not on the disability. Most especially to the teachers and families who are considered as the two main agencies that could either make or break the ability of a child who have a difficulty in learning. But as a future teacher, I am well aware that in the actual school setting, there is always a possibility for a teacher to encounter a student who is considered to be a bit different from his peers. And be integrated into the normal classroom. Of course there must be a different approach to teach them as compared to the majority of children. Once they already sit and face the board, teachers already portray an essential role in making the lives of these children better. There are a lot of factors to consider that may greatly affect the being of the child. That encompasses her social, physical, emotional That is why, teachers must have enough knowledge how to deal with these kind of learners. All in all, knowing these learning difficulties is only one of the various ways that could be done towards understanding a child who experiences a condition which can make him or her different from the rest. This is only an introduction to the vast and deep sea of dealing with these learners. Although it is basic, it is fundamental as a whole as it can be a foundation to understand a more complex concept in relation to this. Of course we must apply the learnings we have acquired in our daily lives. To be honest, these children must not only be given attention through the establishment of these laws. Actually, the people in the society must also be considerate and understanding towards them. Laws won’t function if the people themselves don’t have the initiative and the knowledge. As a wrap up, I would like to leave you this words, APPRECIATE not TOLERATE our DIFFERENCES. We are all unique and diverse in our own ways that makes the world balance and peaceful. In connection with our group’s original song composition, we are still hoping that the time will come that people will now slowly be open towards knowing more on how to understand these children with disabilities. And we aspire that all will be united towards achieving a humane and just society. And all will sing… You are special, you are unique, There is acceptance you can seek. You’re not different you belong. Come join with us and sing this song…

My Proofreading Experience: A METACOGNITIVE WRITE-UP
You’ll never learn if you never even tried at all. Though the word erratum is not new to me anymore, I could say that there are still a lot of things to learn. Well, I encountered it when I was in Grade 12—just heard it from one of my classmates. My biggest challenge in accomplishing the task was to actually learn the fourteen different grammar usage by heart. For the reason that I was afraid to be judged by the owners of the papers I proofread, I was really pressured. I downloaded each lesson, printed it and read it. “Why would I proofread, if my works are still to be proofread as well?” But I just told myself that I will never really learn if I don’t try doing it in the first place. That’s how I managed to finish the task. I realized that there’s really still a lot of mistakes when it come to their writing. I was actually having a hard time proofreading the works of the students; there were even some time that I just tried to revise the entire paragraph. The task does not only enrich our minds and our knowledge. It also taught us so much in the affective aspect. We managed to compromise and help our some of our groupmates for them to finish their task as well. I was actually hesitating to proofread the revised work of my groupmate. Above all, the task taught me to know how to deal with the different personalities of my classmates. And we were able to strengthen our bond not just as groupmates but also as friends. I was able to find out that the structures of English are not just as simple as I thought it was. Being able to write essays, poems or stories is not enough. Because aside from the content, I need to be watchful of my grammar usage. By doing the task, I learned that being an English major also requires the responsibility to help my fellow students when it comes to their writing. Actually, I was able to experience how it feels to be an English teacher. And it’s totally not easy. My brain would literally explode any moment—just facing those papers. Of course mastery in communication not only requires me to know the proper pronunciation of a word. And it’s definitely not an excuse not to have a perfect grammar in speaking. It also needs the use of grammar as it adds up to my credibility as a speaker as well. How would they believe what I am saying if I am adapting “carabao English”. And as humans, since we are social beings, we need to socialize so that we can grow and develop. Along with this process is of course communication. And let’s just keep in mind that a good communicator achieves what it takes to grow holistically.

ITINERARY OF A POOR DREAMER: Highlighting the Use of Prepositions
I’m a traveler who is OFF to New Jersey. I will travel ACROSS the vast fields and seas. I’ll roam all AROUND America, To study the world’s lingua franca. I’ll enroll AT the Harvard University, And have a selfie WITH the statue of liberty. I’ll go TO see Beverly…, Beverly Hills, And climb UPTO the top with a heels. After it, I’ll swim AGAINST the river’s current, Rest INSIDE somebody’s basement, I’m sure it’s a quiet place, So I’ll steal the bird THAN the box. Don’t worry I won’t get caught! Because I’ll hide BENEATH a cloth. I’ll run straight INTO the woods, TOWARDS the direction of Hollywood. If I ran OUT of dollars, Then I don’t have a choice but to become a beggar, You will find me ON the streets, BUT I won’t die FROM hunger, I’ll eat a snow... at least. SINCE I’m already a beggar, I’ll earn money THROUGH begging, UNTIL the amount becomes bigger, So I could finally go back to the Philippines!

REVIEW OF THE SYLLABUS
From the title itself, I can already anticipate that the entire course plan will be more on the outputs to be made by the student for each topic. Crafted by two of the most effective and meticulous teachers in the Language and Literature Unit of LNU, this syllabus is surely of high quality and a carefully planned one. But for a student’s perspective, there may still be some things to be revised. Going into its content, the main focus is on the student’s correct use of grammar. Since grammar is a very general topic, subdividing it into sections is a good idea for us to be able to understand it completely. It is better to start first on the easiest aspect of grammar just like mastering the parts of speech first. Teaching us on how it is used, what are its subcategories, etc. A point in which the syllabus was able to follow. The flow of lessons started from the basic level to its most complicated which for me is the best technique for us students to understand the entire idea in a faster way. As an output based syllabus, we are to do various activities in every topic. And almost half of it are done by groups. Well, doing an output, may it be through oral or video presentation, is helpful for us students to be more persistent into knowing the topic so well. It is also a great factor in enhancing our communication and socialization skills. However, if an activity is done by groups, some students may have the tendency to rely on their leaders, same as what happened last semester. I think it’s better if there are consensus agreed before the activity starts if there are members of the group that won’t participate. Also, last semester, we were tasked to write a reflection as well as reaction paper. But there is no fixed format given to us. Although the video tutorials posted online contribute greatly into our formulation of ideas, sources still come as two or more. And there are also instances that one source contradicts to the other. That’s why I think it’s better to have a fixed format given by the teacher. If there is really a need for a format. As I scanned the syllabus, I got concerned on the expected time duration provided per topic. Though these are scheduled in a week or two, there are still circumstances that the classes are suspended. What if the time won’t suffice? Of course the topics must all be covered and the set activities are also expected to all be taken by the students. All in all, I was being caught up by this statement I read on the syllabus and it goes this way, “the interconnectedness of small parts can form a solid whole.” I was able to think that even if we are still students, we can already be able to contribute into the revision for a more effective course plan in the subject Structure of English.

Enchanting Palo: A Four-Day Travelogue
Doing a travelogue for the first time was quite challenging. We needed to think of how are we going to keep the events in sequence in a way that it won’t confuse the people who will watch our travelogue. We also lack resources and most especially the expertise into making this kind of output. Yet, I could say that we were able to give it our best; our efforts, our time and our sweat. All in all, it was a success. Honestly speaking, the entire activity was really a challenge for me. But on top of all those was the editing part. I was tasked to do the video editing alone and I really had a hard time wrapping it all up. Considering that the editor application that I used was not the updated version. I was also concerned on the duration of our video. I also spent almost 18 hours just sitting on my desk while facing the laptop. Rest? Only when its meal time. I dealt with it by just being optimistic on the thought that I can do it. And by just keeping in mind that there’s no one who can help me but my self. I actually did multiple roles. On a particular part, I was the host. In some parts, I was the camera man and all through out the travelogue, I was the editor. Well, after looking at the finished video, I was able to sigh and said to my self that I was able to exceed to my limitations. I also realized that I can do a task which I don’t usually do only if I push my self into it. It was quite fulfilling on my part. To be honest, I was not sure of what my groupmates felt about the quality and the editing of the video. Considering that we have no choice but to assign the tasks only to the three of us even if were actually five members in our group. But to my other two groupmates, they were so happy that we made it. The task also strengthened our relationship not just mere classmates but as friends. As we really enjoyed the entire duration of the task. As a member, I was able to assess myself that I can do a particular task well even though I was really not into this. I discovered that I can do a group task better if my groupmates are my friends as I can express my thoughts freely towards them. Actually, we didn’t appoint a leader in our group. Everyone just considers what the other think as a good plan and will say our suggestions to make better; if there is. Although I was the one who was really urging my other groupmates to attend to our video shooting, I don’t consider myself as a leader.

Passion is Equal to Action
Nothing is impossible when all are united towards achieving one goal. That's what I realized as we were making the props for our tuba festival. Actually, I was being confused if I will be a dancer or a props maker. I actually do not qualify for both. I am literally stiff when moving and I don't know why I don't have any gracefulness. When it comes to props making, the thing that concerned me is the fact that I am not creative nor artistic. So, I don't have any choice but to act as an artist. I listed myself as a prop maker and just thought that everything will be alright. The moment that I attended the first day of the props making, I got surprised! There's no need to be one of the artists. Not being able to be good in arts is actually not a problem. The ready made patterns designed by the prop leaders are really a big help and made the work a lot easier and faster. Although we were so busy that week, we still managed to always go at the back of the gym where the props team are working. I am so thankful to the leaders most especially to Sir Jeffrey Equipahe because the props making won’t be a success without their efforts. The costume for the 250 dancers wont be met if we, the members ourselves just relied on each other. Upon seeing the layout of our backdrop, I got amazed on its color combination its actually a mixture of red, yellow and orange that made the words ‘tribu daga-ang’ burning on fires. But the story doesn’t end there yet. Out of excitement, I tried painting but all I need to do is to fill out the letters. I had so much fun actually. But later did I know that there is already a yellow paint on my I.D., when I stood up, my white t-shirt was already painted! The moment I saw it, I was worried because Sir Equipahe said that this is an enamel paint and this is hard to wash out with water when painted to wood and cloth. I was a bit disappointed to myself. Actually the yellow stain is still on my t-shirt until now. I wasn't able to wash it out with a thinner. But it was all okay now. It doesn't matter because by the performance of the dancers, I could say that they really did their best. They actually forced themselves to dance barefoot under the scorching heat of the sun even though there are a lot of stones on the field. Although I was not able to be a props carrier, well, I practiced on the first two days of the rehearsals. But I am sorry for not attending the final practice for there is a conflict of the practice periods between the festival dance and the other event which we are required to do as well. All in all, I could say that it was all a success and all of the efforts was made worthy. Its indeed a fact that when you are enjoying and there is fun in what you do, then its not a work anymore, its already called as passion.

A glimpse behind her mask. (part 2- knowing the deeper me)
What is my dream? What do I want to become?
I am Ma. Lourie May M. Mina, a simple 18-year-old teenager, having an average life living in the peaceful barrio of Brgy. Capirawan, Palo, Leyte.
When I was still a kid, I’m being usually left in the care of my grandparents because my mother has to go to the school she teaches. While after sending my mother off to school early in the morning, my father has to go to our rice field before the “mayas” finish devouring the rice grains.
I have three younger siblings, and as the eldest, it is expected that I am always the mastermind of every trouble that will occur.
I could still remember the day when my sister and I discovered a pair of scissors being hidden in the attic. My grandmother was busy planting in her garden while my grandfather was also focused on making bamboo chairs. I didn’t know what came into my mind when I started cutting my sister’s hair off. But it seemed that she’s actually amazed looking at her hair falling on the ground.
Spending my early elementary days at Campetik Elementary School, where the PNP Regional Office was almost just ten yards away, it was common for me to see trainees jogging on the street with muds all over their bodies and with very exhausted faces full of sweat.
That’s the time when I finally thought that someday, I will also be wearing that blue striped uniform. Being a policeman as my dream was the reason for me to act superior towards the other kids. Some of my mother’s co-teachers would say that I am boyish since I always bully my boy classmates by pulling their shorts down. Sometimes, being involved into boxing and wrestling even if we’re in the middle of the class.
But my mother thought of a bright idea that turned my whole world upside down. When I turned grade 3, I was transferred to Palo Central School. There, I finally felt that I don’t have friends anymore. For the first time in the history of my life, I was bullied. The clever and tough me changed into a cry baby in my new environment. Every day, I’m always afraid of what will happen the next day.
But as I turned grade 4, I learned how to defend myself and finally learned my lesson. From that moment on, I am not a bully anymore and neither to be bullied.
Since there are a lot of fruit bearing trees all over the yard in my grandparent’s house, it was always my task to climb up to the roof top to get some guava,” santol” and” dalandan” while my siblings were waiting for me to hand over the fruits with their heads facing upwards.
From then on, the rooftop where the guava,” santol” and” dalandan” trees seemed to converge, was the place where I considered as a safe zone. A place where I could be alone since I’m the only one who can climb the trees up to the rooftop. It was the only spot where I could spend my time whenever I get to repay all the troubles I did and that was after my mother scolded me.
And most of all, the experience that I considered as the highlight of my childhood was when I climbed a twenty-year old “santol” tree and didn’t notice that a big colony of bees was hiding behind its two big branches. When I went to school the other day, my classmates thought that I have a chicken pox because of the bite marks on every inch of my exposed skin.
I spent my high school years in Palo National High School. I met my first crush there. I seriously tried to keep it as a secret except to my two friends. But unfortunately, one of them did not intend to keep it to herself. Until the whole SPJ class knew who he was for me and later on, my crush knew it as well. But thanks God, my mother was his godmother that was why he considered me more of a friend than just a mere admirer.
I somehow miss my old school since it was the place where my talents were first acknowledged. I won first place in siday making. I became a part of the desktop publishing group in our Filipino publication. I was also a singer of my school’s Circle of Performing Artists. And my feature and editorial writings were also published on our English school paper even though I often get allergic into writing in English. I even wrote some poems in our literary page.
PNHS was where I really envisioned the future me. Which was to become a cadet either in the Philippine National Police Academy or in the Philippine Military Academy. I also had a lot of true friends there. They’re also the reason why I never gave upon my dreams. Even when most people say that I can’t make it because I don’t know how to swim, I’m not tall, the training is rigorous and many other reasons.
When I was in grade 9, I also felt how to admire a girl. Yes, a girl. She was the reason for me to finally forget all the bitter sweet memories of my campus heartthrob crush. In the middle of my high school years, I somehow wondered if I’m a lesbian.
But the answer to my somehow, “identity crisis” was finally concluded. It was summer before I moved to Senior High when I met this tall, dark and handsome guy in a “sayawan”, a plaza where the annual disco is being held in connection to our barrio fiesta celebration. When I saw him approaching with his hand reaching for a dance, that was the first time I literally felt the whole world stop. Seriously, I am not joking.
Months passed and we are still in touch through texts and chats. I learned so much about him and so is he. I am really comfortable conversing with him. Not to mention his matured “paasa” style. We also shared our thoughts, ideas, including our dreams in life. I remember he even got shocked when I told him that I want to become a cadet in PNPA.
But I was glad he is not the same as those who are discouraging. He said that he knows I can make it. Several weeks have passed and we totally don’t have any communication at all. And it was all because of me. I told him not to contact me anymore for some reasons.
Last October 2017, is when I took the entrance exam for PMA which was held in Eastern Visayas State University, the same school where he studied engineering. My parents were so supportive of me taking that exam, and we actually went there early. As I was falling in line, I saw a familiar figure. It was him and I wasn’t just day dreaming or hallucinating. The minute I saw him standing in the middle of the throng people that will take the exam, many questions kept running on my mind, “What is he doing here?” “Is he here to wish me luck? But that’s impossible!” “Maybe he has a class later and he’s just looking on what’s the matter.” I don’t even know if he ever saw me because I just hid my face with a piece of paper.
The next month, the results were finally posted online. As I saw the entire list, I was surprised for two reasons. First was unfortunately, my name wasn’t on the list. And second was his name was printed bold and clear as a passer! It took me some time to process the whole thing out. At first I was really disappointed. I really want to pass the exam since it was the only possible way to make my lifetime dream come true. Later on, I found out that he also found out that he also passed the entrance exam in PNPA! But as I asked my friend Anagay, “Why is it that my dreams happened to him instead?” The only thing that she said was, “Your dreams happened to him because he himself is your dream.” 

In the town of Lexicalia...
Its obvious that lexical categories have its functions in the sentence or in the entire write-up. People as well have their own role to portray within the society they belong. Why not incorporate the characteristics of both?
Here is a short story reflecting how lexical categories portray what usually are the things that people do.
In a small yet progressive town of Lexicalia, there is a mayor who is praised for its good and effective leadership. His name is Mayor Noun. But because of so much work Mayor Noun has to do, he decided to hire a secretary who is an expert on doing actions. He realized that for his work to be completed, he needs a verb. Just like in a simple sentence, a noun and a verb can already give a complete thought. Despite being knowledgeable enough about leadership, he still needs a verb to complete and finish the whole thing up. If noun is plural, the verb adjusts. That was why Miss Verb applied as a secretary of Mayor Noun. Miss Verb does all the things that needs to be done, from paper works up to being with Mayor Noun during his meetings and seminars.
In times of Mayor Noun's absence, Vice-Mayor Pronoun is the one responsible to act its role in the office. As the mayor, Mayor Noun have to go to a national conference and as a result, Vice-Mayor Pronoun will temporarily replace Mayor Noun and will be working with Miss Verb.
In the national conference that Mayor Noun has attended, he personally had a talk with President Preposition. That talk is called a prepositional phrase talk. Mayor Noun told President Preposition all the accomplishments the town of Lexicalia had achieved. But one thing that concerned him was to have more investors that will invest a business in his town. That was why he asked President Preposition to help him get more investors. President Preposition, being urged and persuaded by Mayor Noun, immediately related him his closest business acquaintance. He also directed what Mayor Noun has to do in order to maintain and improve the economic stability in Lexicalia. But of course as the President, he will always give guidance and direction to all of his constituents as a whole. Same as the function of a preposition. It relates all other categories in each sentence and also gives direction to the whole sentence.
Let's go back to the business partner President Pronoun is referring to. He is named as Mr. Conjunction. He is known for being a well-known business man for the fact that he has a lot of connections and he can easily connect with other investors. That was why President Pronoun trusted him to give Lexicalia to grow economically.
So, as decided, Mayor Noun and Mr. Conjunction went together to Lexicalia. Knowing each other for the first time makes them feel awkward thus having a fragment between the two of them. Mr. Conjunction even wondered why he can't connect to Mr. Noun. On the other hand, Mr. Noun is in great despair to the idea that if he the fragment still continues, there is a great possibility for Mr. Conjunction to withdraw. As an alternative, Mayor Noun immediately called Vice-President Pronoun for he knows that Vice-President Pronoun can easily adjust and blend in every situation. Being alarmed on the not so good news, Vice-President Pronoun, together with Miss Verb immediately went to the airport to fetch the two. The moment the four of them met, they immediately agreed that Mr. Conjunction will invest so much for based on his assessment, Lexicalia is a perfect place as a tourist spot. Just like the combination of a noun, conjunction, pronoun and a verb in a sentence. Once they are combined, it will now result for a sentence to be completed thus the fragment will now be set aside.
A day after, Miss Verb called for a press conference about the good news. Journalists, critiques and analysts called as The Adjectives attended the press conference. As the press conference went on, they were able to see the progress of Lexicalia. And in their articles, they described how well Mayor Noun and Vice-Mayor Pronoun do their duties in the town of Lexicalia.
Being pleased with their good reviews, Mayor Noun thought of an idea to sponsor a writing workshop for The Adjectives. Adverb of Professors composed of the most competent English teachers in LNU or Lexicalia Normal University facilitated the said event. The Adverb of Professors are expected to modify the Adjectives in terms of technical and formal writing. That include their grammar and structures as well.
Lastly, the municipality won't be created complete without the people themselves. And they are called the Interjections for each of them may have different assessment as to how well Mayor Noun serves them.
And they continuously lived happily ever after.

Knowing the Unknowable
Note: I am not being secular in this write up. My perspective towards this is purely about language and I do not in any way do question the faith or religion of anyone.
Although God is greatly associated with religion and belief, let us now evaluate what God is as pertains to its use in language may it be spoken or written.
On the question, "Is God concrete or abstract?" , literally speaking, God cannot be perceived through any of our five senses. Though we can feel his presence deep inside our souls, there is still a strong argument that God is only an idea or concept. Even in the Bible for example, God was never mentioned to be making an appearance to humans. God is never touchable as He doesn't have a visible human body. He can appear as the wind, fire or cloud but never in a tangible way.
Talking linguistically, the word God is always written in capital letter as well as the pronouns used to refer to Him which can be concluded that God is a proper noun. In the religious sense, God is a proper noun as He refers to a specific reference.
God can either be countable or non-countable in the perspective of language and religion. Because as what is in the Bible, there is the "Holy Trinity" that pertains to God the Father, God the Son and Holy Spirit. Notice that it refers to two different entities. While as for language, there is no such word as 'Gods' with a capital letter although there is the word 'gods' but its obvious that it is written using a small letter only.
God is singular in the English langauge and is also denotatively singular. On the other hand, God is not a collective nor compound as it is clearly referring to a fixed and single entity.
Even though we are not sure and are still on an argument of what type of noun God is, we must always remember that that God is always there for us no matter how confused or lost we are in our lives.

WE will never be... with just a ME
You're a fire that gave me warmth though I knew I'll just end up being hurt staying near you.
And a water that made me feel relaxed though it's impossible for me to touch you.
For me you're a story that never had an author,
And I'm just an anonymous writer,
Scribing utopic plots about you and me.
But unlike any other fantasies, ours doesn't have a happy ending.
For three years, I lived in a sheer bliss.
Thought that those are all an endless nirvana,
But later did I know that I was just a traveller that didn't have a destination,
Being lost in the long and deep river of oblivion.
Yes, you're a dream.
A dream that achieved my own ambitions instead.
But just like any other dreams,
You and me is a dream that would never happen.
So impossible that even deja vu wasn't able to interfere in our parallel but not crossed paths.
You chose to take the road less travelled,
While I'm just stucked here as your silhoutte faded.
Now, I could vaguely see the track you made,
But our memories are always clear to me.
It's a one sided love, an unreciprocated feeling.
I am not certain of what you really felt for me,
If what am I to you, or if I did matter in your world.
Maybe I was just an extra terrestrial body that didn't even exist
...for me, only one thing is certain, we will never be, with just a me.

PARTS OF SPEECH to LEXICAL CATEGORIES: A Thorough Examination
Since I was in elementary, I was well oriented that nouns, pronouns, verbs, adverbs, adjectives adpositions, conjunctions and interjections are called as parts of speech. So, the moment I heard the term lexical categories from our professor, my mind suddenly went blank. I asked myself what is that term all about but unfortunately, there was no response.
To be honest, even though this topic is only basic, I am not that expert when it comes to these yet. But going into our infographics, from the making of our concept paper up to the video tutorial, I gained enough knowledge. Its true that people learn better by doing.
Our infographic covered all the lexical categories of words from noun up to interjection. It coherently classified each type as it included all of the subtypes of each lexical category.
Through this, I as a student can connect my competency in ICT and my creativity in designing altogether with language. These are the skills that will help me become globally competent as having expertise on these would greatly help me respond to the demands of today’s world.

A glimpse behind her mask.
“I AM AN ENGLISH MAJOR, I’M RESTLESS AS VERBS.” That’s how it is as Leyte Normal University's BSED Major in English student where Ma. Lourie May M. Mina currently studies at. She is a freshman in the said university situated in Tacloban City. For almost eight months now, her writing and speaking skills in English had improved. With her prior background as a desktop publisher in their Filipino publication at Palo National High School and as a Humanities and Social Sciences student in her Senior High years at Saint Paul School of Professional Studies, she already has a good foundation when it comes to this field.
At the age of nineteen, she has been exposed to all types of writing may it be in an academic or literary aspect. Spoken poetry has been her interest since high school and still constantly writes poems in English, Filipino and most especially in Waray-waray. She already won first place in Siday Making Competition both in the best writer and best interpreter categories during the Palo Municipal Celebration on the seventy-fifth Leyte Landing Anniversary. All of these only prove that she’s indeed as restless as verbs.
