alterhuman reminder:
if you’re worried you’re faking being an alterhuman, you’re not faking.
faking is INTENTIONAL. if you’re not actively thinking “i’m not an alterhuman but i’m going to pretend i am and tell people i am even though i know for a fact i’m not” then you are not faking.
being wrong about your identity is not faking. thats learning. it’s okay to experiment with your identity and labels. it’s okay to say “i don’t know if i’m an alterhuman but i want to try the label so i’ll tell people i am one” because that’s just experimenting. it’s normal.
i see so many younger therians (and honestly people in general) worried they’re faking something but if you’re worried about it and it chews you up inside and makes you uncomfortable to think that you might be “faking”, you’re definitely not.
fakers dont get worried they’re faking

be kind to kids (yes, this includes teenagers) who identify as nonhuman, otherkin, fictionkin, therian, alterhuman, or a furry. they are living their life the way that makes sense to them. they don't deserve an "i told you so" if they grow out of identifying that way later on. they don't deserve to be asked "aren't you too old for that now?" they don't deserve to be laughed at and mocked online. children forming a wolf pack aren't hurting anyone. kids who want to meet other kids who identify as nonhuman aren't embarrassing.
kids need a sense of community no matter who they are. kids deserve the right to identify their own feelings. kids are allowed to express parts of themselves adults find "embarrassing". adults are allowed to do all of these things, too, but it's become routine for folks online to mock literal children for embarrassing behavior.
identifying as an animal isn't embarrassing; what is embarrassing is being an adult and picking on literal children. who cares, it's not hurting a singular soul. let them explore identity in ways that make sense to them. identifying as nonhuman isn't a danger to anyone else. they aren't hurting themselves. let them identify as a nonhuman and explore what that means to them. let them live their lives.

having chronic pain in your legs is the worst when you're a highly energic dog and need to run around outside for your mental health
#LITERALLY#also it's been so hot recently and i am very sensitive to heat so going outside is not fun!!!#rb#text#canine

Im running out of weird stuff I do to confess but here.
I make bird nests and sleep in them. (Not out of sticks but out of anything soft and floofy I can find, plushies, pillows, blankets). I have been doing this since I was a kid.

i would like to make it crystal clear: this blog is and always will be a safe, supportive space for physical and biological alterhumans of any sort.
you do not have to justify yourself to anyone either <3
(certain current events have prompted this post)

“Don’t hate therians!!! They’re just kids being kids!! They’re having fun!!” I am not a child and I can assure you that I’m not having fun

I like to think about non/alterhumans in their everyday lives.
There is a rabbit who made your sandwich.
An elderich being teaches a math course.
The local werewolf takes care of the elderly.
Rams make up the staff at a pub nearby.
Dragons make excellent library workers.
Your favorite cashier happens to be a lion.
Your overly punctual classmate is a moth, and your less than punctual classmate is a hummingbird.
A goldfinch shops at a gift shop.
A catfish tours you through a historical site.
Across the street is a banshee who is walking their dog.
Cats work on their computers in small cafes.
And you move through your life as you are.
We are unique but certainly not alone. Your community is around you, even if you do not see it outright.
Happy Howling!

Mushroom Person - "An Identity label for people who feel like sentient fungi or mushrooms."
Flower Person - "An Identity label for people who feel like sentient flora."
There's no wrong way to use these labels, and anyone is welcome to them. However, these were created to specifically describe my experience.

my species dysphoria has been so bad lately and i don't really know how to cope with it, i wish i could talk to someone about it but only one of my friends knows i'm nonhuman and we don't really talk about it much and i don't even know what his opinions on it are and i'm too scared to ask. i've vaguely referred to my nonhumanity when talking to my counsellor once and i'm also too scared to flat out tell her about it. ughhh i feel like i'm in hell (and not in the awesome demonkin way :/ )
#if any beings have advice on how to cope with it i would greatly appreciate hearing it#ib.original#text#vent post#nonhuman#otherkin#therian#species dysphoria

omg that's me!!! i used to think i was deitykin but that didn't really fit right, and what you're describing perfectly puts into words exactly what i was feeling!!
Calling into the nonhuman void, any other pseudo-deities out there? You’re not a deity, but some think you are or whatever? For me it’s like I’m not a deity, but from a human point of view I am nearly indistinguishable from one, so they would often think I am a deity.
I have searched near and mid range and have yet to find any sort hint that there are any other beings I could interact with that are like this.
