MY FIRST JOURNEY WITH INBOUND TOURIST
It’s been long Nine years since I started my career in Tourism Industry. I always feel delightful when I think about the Journey with different clients from multiple countries. I finished my last tour on 4th of February with some clients from England . It’s been 4 months since me and all other travel industry people are awaiting to receive the next assignment , we feel it’ll be alright once the pandemic goes away. It was 2012 when I started my first official journey as recce. The clients were from Belgium who confirmed a 14 days tour to Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, I didn’t have any detail idea how to work and how to act during the tour, luckily I had a good driver who have been in the industry since long.
My client supposed to arrive in the Guwahati Airport at 10’0 clock . I packed all my luggage’s in the previous night and was ready in the morning by 8’O clock. My phone ranged, it was my driver , I picked up the call and he asked me ! Are you ready? I am in front of your gate. I replied yes, took the luggage and went out of my gate. He was there inside the vehicle. He said Good morning and smiled, I replied with the greetings and boarded the car. We reached the airport at around 9’0 clock, I took a counter ticket to go inside with the play5 card in my hand. Watching at the Baggage belt if the flight arrived, saw in the board that indigo flight from Delhi have landed. Few moments later I met them in the arrival gate. We had a short introduction between us. After brief discussion we went to the vehicle loaded our luggage’s and starts moving towards the nameri national park. They asked me if there are any good restaurants on the way for pit stop. I said yes, there are many , as per conversation I instruct our driver to stop the vehicle at a Dhaba (Roadside Restaurant) I asked them, whether they would like to have something like Tea or Light Snacks.  They said yes, why not? I ordered cup of Tea for all, we had a lot of Discussion about Tea and its history. We continued our journey towards Nameri…. It’s a national park and Tiger reserve in Assam. On the way we stop at Raha and showed them some traditional fishing equipment which is displayed on the road side shop. I have described some of them and informed how to use it.  We drank some coconut water from the shop and continued our Journey again.

We have reached Nameri at 3.30 PM. We checked in at the Eco camp they were quite excited to see the environment. We walked around the camp and took them to see the golden mahseer conservation  area followed by a short visit at pigmy hog breeding centre. I ordered dinner for them and went to my room for refreshment. (Golden Mahseer an endangered species of fish referred as a tiger among fish , it is toughest among the fresh water sport fish, the colour of the fish is reddish yellow) They had dinner at around 7.30 in the evening and went back to room and I followed at around between 9 to 10 PM

Morning I wake morning and went for breakfast. We all had breakfast in the restaurant .during the breakfast they asked me  Is it possible to visit the national park ?  ( Visit to the National Park was not part of our Itinerary  , Its only for night halt or layover to break the journey towards Dirang) I answered , we don’t enough time to visit the park as we have to go to Dirang which takes 7 to 8 hours, but I assured to take them up to the river Jia Bhoreli . This river originates from Tawang district where its called Kameng river before it enters Assam. As said we loaded the luggage we went to the river bank. The River Jia Bhoreli  As the weather was clear we could see the Himalaya Mountain up to distance. We started our journey to Dirang , we had stopped at Arunachal check post to show the PROTECTED AREA PERMIT to Police staff . We continued our journey through the mountainous zigzag road .we are climbing up and the river Kameng  was flowing side by it. We stopped at many locations which offer magnificent views of the mountains and the river. We reached a place called Tenga vally which have lots of defends settlement, we had a quick-lunch and climbing up through Bomdila  ,Bomdila is the headquarter of the west kameng district , arunachal Pradesh with an altitude of more than 8000 feet Above Sea Level. From Bomdila the road is moving towards down hill up to Dirang which has altitude of apx 5000 feet above Sea Level. We stopped at old Dirang which is aprox 15 KM away from main Dirang town We had a short visit at Dirang Zong which is an ancient Monpa Village .We were quite excited to see  the housing structure mostly it was traditional wood and stone architecture. We reached Dirang in the evening and checked in at the hotel. The hotel offers magnificent view of the Kameng river flowing through the mountain.
