headcanon :: lord of purgatorio.  Dante’s title as Lord of Purgatory is not simply a title added upon his name. It isn’t a button on his vest that he wears to look decorated, but a status, a power in the name itself is enough to evoke fear & respect. All pass through his domain, mortal, god, monster s it is the realm in-between, a place where the dead must cross, where dead gods crawl through the ashes, the mountain        purgatorio. It is the trial itself for all those who are not free of sin; while your Gods might forgive you, Dante will not. Each & every soul must reap the seeds of their sins; seven sins, seven trials, seven hells. It is he who stands at the top & judges the souls who toil & crawl their way up mountain’s path & at the end, he stands as a radiant figure. He judges the sin & the sinner; his word is law, ironclad. It is through his judgement that the Gates to paradise open, & that the maw of The Inferno opens wide to receive another damned soul.

            “ Yes, it is. ” He responded simply; quite the acute observation! Although he would have added a bit of flare to the compliment      divine, fantastic! Ah, well.. Youth. He’ll learn to properly admire magecraft as grand as this one day, even if it was just a fragment of the massive compendium of power that an Endless Sorcerer has at his disposal. “ Can you mimic it? It needn’t be perfect, but something to give me an idea at how far you’ve managed progress under Stepen’s wing. “ Wanda should have given him more insight into his powers, but perhaps Dr. Fate was the one he needed? An order to balance the chaos..? Perhaps Dante should take him to a fragment & let the boy loose, give him a taste of his own power & see what remains? Of course, any damage done to the boy could be reversed. He alone had the right & Authority to reverse the cause & effect of death itself & pay no such price.

             “ You make it sound as if you expected anything less. ” Dante chuckles out a small tsk tsk from his lips. A sorcerer of his caliber, playing mortal? Not quite; this was but a fragment of his soul given form & offered to his contractor. This man rivaled the greats, studied with Merlin himself, allied himself with divines, earned their respect     a force to be reckoned with. He was currently creating concoctions of dragon’s fire, witch’s venom, phantom’s tears; imbuing each potion with his own mana. Normally, this would be little more than multitasking, but the sheer amount of things going on in this one laboratory was.. astonishing. It was more like a one-man army than a single man at work.
