content  warnings  :  some  creepy  ideas  &.  ideals  .  mentioned  violence  /  witch  trials  -  esque  period  .  deep  thought  .  voices  with  no  bodies  .

she  closed  the  standalone  gate  behind  her  ,  hoping  it  would  stay  closed  .  the  garden  had  not  seen  a  visitor  in  quite  some  time  --  unfortunately  ,  she  had  to  disturb  its  peace  now  .  a  refuge  from  the  town  that  thundered  by  ,  calling  her  witch  ,  creature  ,  the  garden  was  a  solace  she  never  felt  alone  in  .

     she  turned  to  see  the  garden  --  its  ever  familiar  rows  of  flowers  ,  reaching  towards  a  staircase  that  was  endless  .  the  voices  surrounded  it  ,  asking  her  to  meet  them  .  every  time  ,  she  resisted  .  the  souls  in  the  town  weren’t  really  that  angry  at  her  for  being  a  ‘  witch  ’  ,  they  simply  didn’t  know  what  to  do  when  faced  with  true  power  .  the  stairs  called  ,  as  they  reached  into  the  sky  .  

     don’t  .  you  know  you  shouldn’t  ...

     but  peace  tempted  her  .  why  must  she  take  on  all  the  burdens  ?  everyone  refused  to  hear  her  .  eventually  ,  it  began  to  rot  away  at  you  .

     the  garden  ,  the  flowers  ,  all  gently  bent  towards  her  .  they  felt  her  conflict  ,  her  confusion  ,  her  desperation  to  be  understood  .  she  brushed  her  fingers  on  a  wilting  daisy  --  it  came  alive  ,  for  a  brief  moment  ,  before  it  drooped  back  ,  forever  entranced  in  its  dance  of  life  ,  revival  ,  and  death  . 

     climb  the  staircase  .  be  free  .

     it  went  on  forever  .

     it  will  end  once  you  are  where  you  should  be  .

     the  temptation  grabbed  her  by  the  chest  .  she  took  a  few  cautious  steps  forward  .  for  a  moment  ,  there  was  nothing  but  her  and  the  voices  as  her  foot  touched  the  first  step  .

     could  she  really  leave  it  all  behind  ?

     her  body  answered  for  her  --  once  she  took  the  first  step  ,  she  did  not  look  back  .
