The best advice i can give any creator is do it before you're good at it, do it BEFORE you're happy, do it while you suck, do it while you're doubting yourself and get stuck the fuck in, because waiting around to be "good enough" is a motherfucking trap of the highest degree. You'll get good along the way and better after every project is complete. Remember, this is the greatest thing you've ever created, and then you'll do something else. You're only ever gonna get better, but not if you stand still.

Hi! Was just wondering if it's allowed to write for the prompts / questions before wij officially starts?

You're welcome to do whatever best suits your needs! It would be great if you could schedule your post / refrain from posting until July begins, if that is possible for you! (If not, no worries!) Perhaps you can do some creating now, then keep your works until the event begins to post them?

That way, your posts aren't lost and can be archived and enjoyed during the month! :)

We also provide more detail about each day as they are released, so that may influence what you create for each day.

Welcome to Whumpmas in July 2025! 

Thank you for patiently waiting! As a reminder, we will not be reblogging any creations on this blog and will instead keep this blog as a space to only post the prompts, tags, and relevant information. We will post the tag for each day, and we ask that you use two tags when filling prompts this year so that others may find your creations easily:  Tag 1 —> #wij25day__ (Fill in the blank with the appropriate day number for the prompt you are filling! For example, if you are doing the prompt for day 21, make sure to tag your post with #wij25day21.)

Tag 2 —> #whumpmasinjuly2025 Be sure to also tag @whumpmasinjuly-archive if you would like your posts reblogged to our new official archive account! Of course, feel free to use any other relevant tags too! You can also find a banner that you can use in your posts (if you want, not required) under the #wijbanner tag.

The prompts are divided into three categories: community (red boxes), question (green boxes), and creation (white boxes). Everyone is free to participate as much or as little as they want–there’s no completionist requirement! This list provides a preview of the prompts, but on each day a more detailed post will be released with more context and additional suggestions for each day’s task. Similar to previous years, all prompts and other important information will be found under the #infowhumpmasinjuly tag and #infowij25 for ease of access. This blog will also use the tags #wijquestion , #wijcommunity , and #wijprompt respectively for each post so that you can filter and find the type of prompts you’d like to do.

The damsel in distress slowly starts getting more and more unstable from the unaddressed trauma of being frequently kidnapped. One day they completely snap and the villains start being found mysteriously murdered with increasing brutality.

Little habits whumpee may not realise is a result of trauma

-Always knowing where every exit is. And always being near an exit.

-Always keeping their back to the wall, never wanting to be caught in an open space.

-Obsessively locking every door, every window, even their own bedroom. They won't relax otherwise.

-Brushing off compliments.

-Being overly defensive.

-Extreme independence. Never relying on anyone, they are fully capable of doing things alone and they are determined to

-Walking quickly. Never lingering, not even for a moment.

-Standing hunched, head down, making themselves as small and inconspicuous as possible. They wear loose, basic clothing, trying to both hide themselves and not stand out

-Lapses in memory. Especially not remembering childhood memories

-Never expressing excitement or want for anything. Never hoping for anything.

-In the same vein, never admit to enjoying anything. They fear they will be mocked, or it will be taken away. Anything can be used against them in some way.

-Being excellent in a crisis, even if they panic in minor situations.

-Perfectionism.

-Silent crying.
