i think what a lot of people don’t understand about why mcsr is annoyed about dr**m’s recent speedrunning is that it doesn’t matter that he isn’t trying to cheat (another) world record, it’s about how he’s portraying something that we love to a massive audience. the whole principle of manhunt is that this one guy is so good at the game and at speedrunning that a group of 6 people isn’t enough to stop him from beating minecraft. so much work has been put into discovering and practicing tech like how to e-ray and do bt’s mapless and boat eye, and it’s all so cool!! replacing those Skills with no fog mods and auto stronghold calculation is like. well are we even speedrunning anymore? rather than learning the new tech, dr**m is allowing himself to use mods to replace those skills: he’s not good enough at speedrunning to make an interesting manhunt video without cheating. he’d rather cheat than actually practice the skills. it’s doesn’t matter how open he is about cheating, regular youtube viewers don’t know about the skills he’s even replacing, so they’ll still think he’s just that good at the game. he’s still trying to frame himself as being a great speedrunner without doing the work to learn and practice any of the strategies to become one, so of course the mcsr community is taking issue with the twitch streams all of us keep getting recommended by the algorithm, especially after we just watched a bunch of non-speedrunners easily learn to pie-ray and use nin bot for the mid-offs. so yknow shoutout tubbo again for actually showing mcsr to a bigger audience <3

not sub15 so im not going crazy over it but like- nice to get a new pb lol

it was pretty good pace, 9 flatish blind, rough sh, accidentally got an extra rod (cost 30 seconds). high 13 ee, was going to go for ground zero but forgot no iron...

anyway ik i can get sub15, its definitely fun to get a new pb but like its only 1 step towards my goal

extra notes after going through world:

terrain nav was bad - especially to sh. remember to wide on way to bastion, i pie-rayed to the fort but it is visible along the path i took

i do like the decision to only play one spawner - much better than going deep into that buried fort - also open terrain from spawner.

wild ow too lol - ive been playing bt and ship seeds but decided to lock an rp seed and played village + rp for low 3 enter which is funny

figure out a way to reduce lag too, it was almost unbearable in fort

definitely couldve sub15'd if i had been more aware and just hadnt been as stupid lol

video editing practice #1 is complete !! i followed the tutorial for a few hours last night and then this morning i woke up and i added new stuff !! i think the next vid i make will be mcsr fan content. i have one (1) thought in my head but if you have others plz feel free to share!!

most% remains the tournament of all time. like it's literally just "who can get advancements fastest" but it's so creatively tweaked that it's hard not to be enraptured every time. the hour formatting shows the bounds of speedrunning within a new time constraint (as opposed to ranked/paceman/etc which are usually ~10-15 min) and the elimination style means that you're never watching someone flounder miserably for more than 30 min. it's genuinely one of the best tourneys out there and while i do wish it was a littleeeee more competitive (mostly so people will stop yapping about giving feinberg handicaps, like no), it's definitely sparked some creativity and some return to aa-style running that i personally am excited to see.

yall the couri community nro is so cute. like it's just couri nerding out and goofing off and giggling and its prettyyyyy scuffed but it's so sweet to see so many people who care about no resets and mcsr. right now we're laughing at how so many people just got treasured. giggling
