I wish some people understood that non canon ships are usually going to have more fics written than canon ships. It's because we didn't get the content in the series and we had to make our own.
Every fic I've written was because my ship never became canon and I wanted to create content for that ship. It's just how it is, especially if it's the most popular ship for that series, like Sterek is for Teen Wolf. It doesn't mean Scallison or Stydia are invalid or less than, it just means we got to see it actually happen, whereas Steter or Sciles never happened in canon and so people write what could have been or make up their own entire plot.
People are actually more likely to write stuff that didn't happen in the series. And that's ok! That doesn't take away from canon ships and canon plots. Plenty of people still love Scira or Stalia, even if some people prefer Stackson or Allydia.
But the point is, non canon ships and plots don't take away from canon ships and plots. There's plenty of love to go around for all the ships and plots.

2 for Stiles and Peter?
2) A canon or headcanon hill I will die on
Peter ADORES Stiles, and that's just not a headcanon of my own, he canonically adores that boy.
S1 when he was feral he attacked his own relatives with no compunction, but Stiles was never harmed...ever. A light shove near a laptop was about the closest he got and that was impeccable control for a crazy man (Derek hit him harder when he smashed his face into a steering wheel). Not to mention, despite biting everyone else with no regard, he actually ASKED Stiles and then respected when he said No, even though he knew he was lying.
S3 it's Peter, not the rest of them that automatically knew chess was Stiles's game and he was the one to figure out how to bring him back from the Nogitsunes possession.
S4 when he was once again unhinged and challenged Scott for the alpha power, he threw everyone around in that church ruin, including his own daughter, but never touched Stiles, not even ONCE.
Then finally we have 6A, where despite making the Crack he'd just leave town once he got out of the hunt, Peter took Stiles's keys and got burnt alive AGAIN to make sure that the others would remember Stiles and save him.
Clearly whether you read a romantic or platonic tone to it, Stiles is the one person Peter Hale cares about above all others and I will die a gruesome bloody death on that hill.

Steter when Stiles and Peter are the outcasts of the pack and they leave everyone else behind to become eachothers pack:

Steter when Stiles is part of the pack while Peter is an outcast but Stiles slowly draws Peter into the fold until he's fully accepted as a valued packmate (and accepts himself as a valuable pack member):

Teen Wolf Ship of the Day, June 12th

Stiles Stilinski x Peter Hale
It made too much sense to Stiles, how he ended up here. It was inevitable and nothing really mattered aside from this. Stiles watched Peter's sharp smile and he knew that this was forever.
Headcanons under the cut
Peter and Stiles constantly text each other, and when they are apart, they are constantly texting each other
Peter plays the guitar, and Stiles loves to just sit and vibe while his partner plays folk songs and sings with his husky voice
Stiles absolutely refuses to clean his room and Peter honestly could not give a crap so there are always clothes on the floor of their room
Any time Stiles investigates something, Peter is always there; he's either right there to be an intimidating face or further back in case Stiles needs backup. He trusts Stiles to know when that is, but still prefers to at least keep an ear on everything that happens
Peter is a fairly good cook; he's prone to following a recipe but can go off the cuff if necessary. Stiles can't use a recipe, or whatever he's making will turn out incorrectly, somehow
Stiles is fairly tactile and prefers to sleep directly on top of Peter or squished against him. Stiles is always the one to instigate any PDA, as Peter never really feels like he's welcome to do so, not by Stiles but by the people around them
They are each other's #1 advocate. Stiles will speak up for Peter with the pack if they aren't treating him right or even if he needs something at a restaurant. Peter will do the same for Stiles in any place where he feels uncomfortable. It's easier for them to advocate for each other than it is for them to advocate for themselves
They have very sarcastic nicknames for each other that very quickly turn from jokes to pet names. Stiles often calls Peter princess, babe, darling, honey, wife, any type of pet name that is exceedingly sweet and comforting. Peter on the other hand calls Stiles, bane of my existence, sweetheart, asshole, instigator, and anything that sounds pretty demeaning or rude but Stiles adores being seen for what he really is

My favorite part about GIF making is taking apart the interactions. Really getting to see moments that are over in the blink of an eye and overthinking them in my head.
I adore the parking garage scene, like probably every Steter shipper. There are so many good moments here, some big ones that have been rotating in my brain on repeat but also smaller ones that I had missed because they were over so quickly.
The following is a mix of both. Just everything about the parking garage that brings me joy, with running commentary that would be too much in the finished GIF set.
Why are you leaning against him, Stiles? Why is your arm on Peter? He just kidnapped you and is currently showing you the dead body of his nurse, why are you leaning against his shoulder?
Did you have to lean real close to whisper into his ear, Peter? Was that necessary? While you already had him bend over a car?
I'll never get over the sassy eyebrow and the exasperated eyeroll. What kind of exchange is this, in a hostage situation.
Yes, Peter, we know this and we love your for this.
The fact that Peter not only offers the bite, instead of forcing it, but that he goes out of his way to explain to Stiles that it could indeed kill him is something that has me in a vice grip.
Just the visual of them holding hands <3 Very important, needs to be included here <3
THREE TIMES. He asks for consent three times. He asks if Stiles wants the bite, when Stiles is too baffled to react, he asks again, and then when he has Stiles' wrist so close to his teeth, he asks a third time.
And when Stiles doesn't verbally reply, he keeps staring at him for multiple moments, making eye-contact with Stiles to check if he is declining, before he even just drops his fangs.
I just can't stress enough that this happens directly after we find his dead nurse in the trunk of his car, right after he had mauled Lydia and left her on the lacrosse field. He kills and maims and hurts uncaring, but he asks for consent, repeatedly, and when he is rejected, he allows it. Because he's a werewolf, he just bent Stiles' metal keys like they were made of paper; if he didn't allow it then Stiles wouldn't have been able to pull free from his grip.
And the face of disappointment and rejection after. Absolutely kills me.
But he accepts it and just... leaves Stiles, completely unharmed.
And this is Stiles' reaction to him leaving and it also kills me. Because Stiles audibly gasps, and he jerks forward, like he wants to stop Peter, opening his mouth to speak but closing it before saying a word.
How was I ever supposed to be normal about this ship...?

Credits to taintedcrypt on tiktok their edit is absolutely lovely.
Now how can people be like "oh you can't ship Stiles and Peter thats problematic it's such a huge age gap and Peter is such a bad person."
BUT THIS WAS LITERALLY THE PARALLELS.
Peter was head over heels in love with Stiles. That's why he wanted to give Stiles the bite bc as long as Stiles was a werewolf he was safer in Peter's world and nothing you say or do can convince me otherwise so what if there's an age gap IDFC THEY AREN'T REAL.

It occurred to me today that in S4 finale of Teen Wolf, despite throwing everyone else around during his fight with Scott, including his own daughter, that Peter NEVER TOUCHED STILES.
TWICE THIS MAN HAS WENT UNHINGED AND HE NEVER HURT STILES EITHER TIME

I think the difference in stiles' characterization between Sterek and Steter fics is so interesting.
If you're looking for fluffier, pack mom Stiles fics where the pack is together and bonding and thriving then there is a high likelihood that the main ship will be Sterek. But if you're looking for morally grey or dark stiles, a version of stiles that realizes some of these big bads have to be dealt with permanently and takes it upon himself to do so, then chances are the main ship will be Steter.
Not saying you won't see these tropes or characterization outside of the ships I've attached them to, and I understand why the differences are there, but I just think its so interesting how that worked out

Unhinged/chaotic idea: the pack drinking and playing games and somehow it ends with everyone giving their body count and stiles gives some high number and the packs confused because isn’t Derek/peter (whichever pairing) the only one you’ve been with? And he’s like ‘oh, I thought you meant kills’ so nonchalant. I kind of picture it as him doing left hand things but no one knows.
Thanks for the prompt babe!! 💗💗💗
••••••
It starts innocently enough, as these things often do. A lazy Friday night, half the pack spread across Derek’s loft, pizza boxes and half empty drinks littering the coffee table. They’re sprawled on couches and floor cushions, shoulder to shoulder, warm with familiarity and a little buzzed - Boyd sipping a beer, Jackson working his way through a whiskey sour like it’s a competition, and Kira nursing her third strawberry cider, giggling against Isaac's shoulder. All their drinks dashed with a little wolfsbane.
Stiles has his legs across Peter’s lap, a smug look on his face, and Derek’s parked in the armchair nearby, eyes lazily tracking everything even when he's pretending not to. Peter looks completely relaxed, one arm along the back of the couch, other hand idly stroking over Stiles' ankle like he's petting a cat that might bite.
The game in question is a pack modified version of “Never Have I Ever” crossed with a dare based drinking game that probably started out safe and devolved when Jackson opened his mouth.
“Never have I ever…” Jackson says, swirling his drink dramatically, “...slept with more than three people in one night.”
Kira gasps, cheeks pink. Boyd immediately takes a long sip and won’t make eye contact with anyone. Isaac chokes on his beer.
“You guys are feral,” Stiles snorts. He doesn't drink.
Peter drinks. Casually. Like it’s nothing.
Stiles grins. “Peter, I’m shocked. I thought you were a one at a time sort of serial killer.”
Peter just shrugs elegantly. “Well, I am now. It was the '90s. You had to be there.”
The game spirals until someone (probably Jackson again) suggests they just go around and say their body count.
Boyd shrugs and says three, Kira mumbles five, Jackson proudly boasts nine, and Isaac looks both smug and guilty as he says eleven.
All heads turn when it's Stiles’ turn.
Stiles shrugs. “Seventeen. Maybe eighteen. I kinda lost track.”
Everyone blinks. Isaac's mouth falls open. Boyd looks genuinely confused. Kira looks scandalized.
Jackson blurts, “Wait what? But… Peter-” he gestures to Peter, who is doing a very poor job of hiding his smirk. “Aren’t you, like, with Peter?”
“I am.” Stiles nods easily.
“Then how?” Kira starts, clearly trying to be delicate. “I mean, not to judge, but you don’t exactly seem like the, uh…cheating type.”
“I’m not,” Stiles says. “I think I misunderstood the question. I thought you meant kills.”
Silence.
Dead silence.
“WHAT?” Isaac nearly screeches, sitting up so fast he knocks over a drink. “You meant kills?!”
“Yeah?” Stiles blinks at them, genuinely confused at their confusion. “We’re talking body count. That’s what it means.”
Derek groans, dragging a hand over his face. Peter is laughing so hard he’s leaning into Stiles’ stomach. Boyd mutters, “What the hell, man,” under his breath while Kira looks like she doesn’t know whether to laugh or be concerned.
“You’ve killed seventeen people?” Jackson asks, somewhere between horrified and impressed.
Stiles shrugs again. “That I know of. Some of the shit gets messy. Possessions, magical blowback, landmines. Anyway, most of them deserved it.”
“They deserved it?” Isaac repeats, voice pitching.
“Don’t look at me like that,” Stiles says, reaching for his drink. “I’m the left hand of the Alpha. It’s kind of in the job description.”
That only makes it worse.
“Left hand? Like…Derek’s personal assassin?” Kira says, voice a little shrill.
Stiles raises an eyebrow. “No. Well. I mean, kind of. It’s more like - Derek makes sure the pack’s protected. I make sure the threats don’t come back. Ever.”
Peter pats his leg. “He’s very good at it.”
Boyd is staring at Derek like he’s grown another head. “You knew about this?”
Derek sighs. “Of course I knew.”
“And you’re okay with it?” Jackson demands.
Derek gives him a flat look. “He keeps the people I care about safe. I’m not just okay with it. I trust him.”
“And Peter's okay with it?” Isaac asks, now looking at Peter like he's the sanest one in the room.
Peter grins. “I’m ecstatic about it. You think I don’t find it hot? He gutted a banshee cultist last month and then made me pancakes. He’s perfect.”
Everyone groans.
Stiles stretches, looking entirely unbothered, and says, “Anyway, the sex body count is one. Just Peter.”
Derek twitches.
Stiles notices. His grin turns wicked. “Unless Derek’s volunteering.”
Peter chokes on his drink.
Jackson throws a pillow at him.
Derek’s ears go red.
Boyd just mutters, “I need a stronger drink.”
And that's how pack game night ends.
No one ever asks Stiles about his body count again.

I think that part of why Stiles aiding in Peter's murder is so important to me is because it stands in such a contrast to Peter's behavior toward Stiles.
Peter never harmed Stiles, at all. He doesn't hurt him, the worst he does is drag him along by his collar and shove his face down onto a car but even that is done much gentler than werewolf strength could make it.
But Stiles? Stiles took the first step in Peter's murder, by throwing the first Molotov cocktail. By wanting to set the victim of a horrific fire on fire again.
It's so ruthless and vicious and it is contrasted so hard by how Peter truly goes out of his way to not harm Stiles.
Not in the hospital when Stiles realizes Peter is the Alpha. Even though Peter could have so easily killed Stiles before Derek got there, but instead Peter just stood there and smiled at Stiles.
Not on the lacrosse field when he could have janked Stiles around, forced him with threats of violence. Even though Peter had just violently and animalistically attacked Lydia, yet even the act of making Stiles get off the ground is straight-up gentle by guiding him by his chin and not hauling him up with force.
Not in the parking garage, where it would have been so easy to force the bite onto Stiles, where it would have been so easy to just kill Stiles once he fulfilled his use. Even though we see the dead nurse in his trunk, because he killed her for being no longer useful. Even though he wants to give Stiles the bite, yet he accepts the rejection. And he just... leaves, not a hair harmed on that boy.
Peter's own behavior toward Stiles already stands in stark contrast to his behavior toward literally everybody else.
And, to me, it is heightened even more by the contrast of Stiles' own ruthlessness.
Because Peter did something worse than harm Stiles. He harmed those Stiles loved. He bit Scott and he tore into Lydia.
And it's probably my favorite character trait of Stiles', his unbreakable loyalty and his ruthless defense of those he loves. And I like to think it's also Peter's favorite character trait of Stiles'.
Which makes the murder so much more fucked up, in such a delicious way. Because it was traumatic and literally deadly to Peter, but I like to think that a part of Peter appreciates the part Stiles played in it.
Peter, who killed everyone who was involved with the Hale Fire, appreciates the ruthless murderous intend Stiles feels when those he loves are harmed and wronged. Even when it's the one boy he never harmed, never wanted to harm.
And that's fucked up and twisted and delicious and perfect.

Peter and Stiles would be like THE power couple of the supernatural world. Like come on, an extremely smart (possibly magic) researcher who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty + ruthless enforcer who will do anything to protect pack.... like yall see the vision right???

The thing about Steter is that it is so, so, so vital to me that Peter is madly, deeply, undeniably smitten and enamored with Stiles.
Stiles is the clever one. The snarky and sarcastic little shit who can keep up with him and keep Peter's interest. The only tolerable one. The one he comes back for. The one he'd kill for. His.
I don't need to read about Peter falling in love with Stiles. I need him to already be there. He's been there since the parking garage.
I need Peter Hale irrevocably, undeniably in love with Stiles.
