basically: mysterious person points a gun at karl, rachel is seen standing near the mysterious person too -> karl with the violin, looks like he's reaching out to someone (likely rachel), with a shocked/fraught expression -> mysterious person fires the gun -> rachel's horrified expression -> karl's arm (the one thats holding the violin) blown off (rip </3) -> broken violin.

also, someone was speaking faintly during this part, which sounded like karl's voice imo. "I trusted you, and you ruined it / and you ruined that / and you betrayed me."
