One of my favorite tropes in SVSSS fics is Shen Yuan's inability to understand that not everyone finds Luo Binghe hot. Like Luo Binghe will commit atrocities and after Shen Yuan is like 'i don't understand why everyone isn't falling at his feet. He committed war crimes? Yeah, and he looked good doing it so where's the problem?'

I like to think that he thinks everyone who dislikes Luo Binghe are actually evil. They could be doing good things, but the moment they side-eye Luo Binghe, Shen Yuan is on to them. Clearly they are bad and they are faking being good!

On the other hand, he is convinced that everyone he likes secretly also like Luo Binghe, even if they tell Shen Yuan otherwise. Liu Qingge for example would tell him how much he hates Luo Binghe, but Shen Yuan is like 'Aw, Liu Qingge is so shy. If I didn't know better, I would think he's telling the truth, but from experience, his actions speak louder than words, and what does he do every time he sees Binghe? He fights him! Because he knows about demon culture and is trying to make Binghe feel at home!'

Basically I love Shen Yuan being as obsessed about Luo Binghe as Luo Binghe is about him

Most underrated Bingqiu scene? Chapter 19 when SQQ wakes up from the Dream Realm and LBH comes up behind him, covers his eyes, and plays “guess who.”

The whole scene from start to finish is gold. SQQ acting like the brat he is, alternating between nodding and shaking his head when LBH asks if he missed him. LBH showering SQQ with kisses once he admits he really did miss him. “I am only Shizun’s little beast and no one else’s.” LBH massaging SQQ’s back, sneakily finding ways to touch SQQ further. SQQ swatting at the hand playing with his hair and LBH continuing to brush out his hair with his fingers anyway. The innuendo behind “Shizun still doesn’t know how considerate I can be.”

I don’t think there’s another scene MXTX has written that captures this kind of subtle, domestic intimacy. It’s so cozy and warms my heart. LBH takes very good care of his Shizun.

Expanding on my other post about Shen [Yuan] Qingqiu wearing his hair in the Dead Anime Mom side ponytail: SQQ just keeps on planting death flags without even realizing it, especially of the Fridged Woman variety, and Shang Qinghua is pulling out his hair over it.

SQQ is in his depression post-conference and stops taking care of himself? "Okay, yeah, I get that you're in your feelings and all, but bro, can your bare-bones depression beauty routine not include the Dead Mom hairstyle?!"

"I don't know what you're talking about. It's obviously not the same, I'm a man."

I think the Svsss gang would have a blast going to the aquatic parc!! (With the heat wave I wish they'd bring me too 🥵) I think they'd get in all sorts of shenanigans, Shen Yuan and Shang Qinghua would both fumble a baddie, Yue Qingyuan would be stuck transporting all the bags (as he deserve) and Shen Jiu and Liu Qingge would fight it off with pool noodles 🌞 🏄

Reverse doki doki literature club au where shen yuan is the unromanceable npc aware hes in a game and he's totally cool with that! He'll be the supporting character and help his dear Binghe get all the routes with all these gorgeous girls!

Binghe on the other hand is so tired of having all the sweet moments talking to shen yuan cut short for some dumb cutscene with the romance options. He wants to be with the sweet teacher who asks about his day and gives him advice! Does he have to kill the other characters and mess around with the coding to get them out of the way??

Fully grown Qiong Ding Head Disciple Luo Binghe (from the timeline where Shen Jiu didn't attend those disciple selections + has a better overall set of relationships with the other peak lords) unearths some old documents that establish that in the past, actually, the Qiong Ding and Qing Jing peak lords would be expected to marry. Either legitimately or just ceremonially, as a sort of representation of commitment to the sect as a family above all other things.

The practice fell out of favor a few generations ago, but Luo Binghe is hellbent on getting it back into play. Not because he gives a shit about qijiu (he's on decently-good terms with YQY but SQQ still kind of wants to kick him off the top of the highest peak) but because if he can get the practice restored now, he's all set for eventually getting Qing Jing Peak's current head disciple, Shen Yuan, to marry him when the old generation ascends and finally hands over the sect.

He's playing the long game.

Not to defend someone who has all the stability of a house missing three walls and a foundation, but Luo Binghe did very much try to have some sort of conversation with Shen Qingqiu after their reunion. It's just SQQ responded to that by yelling another man's name and backflipping out the window. I'm not saying LBH is flawless, I'm saying he and SQQ are a good match for each other
