headcanons for Wildberry after Beast Yeast. aka after he almost crumbled from a very severe injury

his injuries in Beast Yeast were obviously really bad. he gets hit by a heavy attack and is knocked out cold immediately. when they get to the garden, the others say he has too many crumbs falling off. we can literally see his arm and face missing crumbs. he is only healed because Eternal Sugar herself steps in. suffice it to say, his injuries are horrible! and he almost died!

I don't think it's possible for him to have injuries like this without some lingering effects (even after he recovers). such as:

visible scars. we've seen other characters with scars (Royal Margarine on his forehead, for example), so we know Cookies can scar. I think him having visible scars both on his face and his right arm would be very realistic for this type of injury

recurrent soreness and pain. I don't know if his right hand is his dominant hand (I'm assuming yes? since he uses it to wield his gauntlet), so him using his dominant hand, like writing, training, or even holding his gauntlet/fighting, could possibly cause discomfort from his injury. I wouldn't even be surprised if Eternal Sugar purposefully didn't heal him all the way since she was focused on Hollyberry's happiness, not his, especially since he was distracting Hollyberry. granted, Eternal Sugar's job is to grant happiness to those in her garden, so that would include Wildberry's injuries, but I wouldn't be surprised if she twisted her own words like she did with not forcing anyone back to her garden but also encouraging monsters to attack those who leave. either way, Raspberry outright says he needs to be still at the beginning of episode 12 because he's "not fully healed yet," so I think it's possible he overextended himself before his body was ready. therefore, I think recurring bouts of pain and soreness would make sense for him, ranging from mild to almost unbearable. same with headaches. his facial injuries are not as severe, but I think it's still possible

general discomfort around discussion of the injury itself. I think he's used to fighting, and he's very courageous and brave, so jumping into battle to save Hollyberry, who is very close to him, makes sense to him. but I cannot imagine injuries like this being common for him, especially since he was only healed (and he only survived) because of an all-powerful Beast's intervention. I think it would stick with him, and discussing the actual injury and the circumstances behind it (being in the woods, the swarm of monsters, saving her from immediate danger, pushing himself beyond his limits while still in pain, the adrenaline and the fear for her safety and those other intense feelings, etc.) would make him wary. on edge. maybe even anxious? he doesn't like how he feels when it gets brought up, when someone worries about his safety or mentions his scars or asks how he's doing. I think he would almost dismiss it, state that he's doing well and recovered smoothly/quickly and the Queen Mother is safe (which is what ultimately matters, he says), and to be fair, these are all true things! but he hates drawing attention to his own injuries

new worries he didn't have before. maybe big crowds of strangers are more daunting to him, if they weren't already. he studies exits in unfamiliar places and likes having his back to the wall so he can look at everything. he knows Hollyberry is a very capable fighter, and he thinks she is stronger than him, but he worries a lot more about her being in danger and him not being there. he might be even more nagging about her safety, but she knows why and tries to reassure him as much as she can

nightmares :( of varying levels of intensity. nightmares about the injuries themselves or if Hollyberry was hurt. if he crumbled. some of them aren't very clear when he wakes, and others are too vivid for his liking. they always leave him a bit shaken. he likes a good distraction

It wasn't because he enjoyed such events, but instead that his boyfriend would be in attendance. That was until Crunchy Chip arrived, and it is clear by the way he was fidgeting that something is wrong.

Just came to realise something guys-

So you know how I wondered why Wildberry seemed so surprised that Hollyberry turned to ask for his aid?

At first, I thought maybe it’s because she doesn’t usually ask for help because she’s used to handling burdens on her own. But that’s not entirely true either since she has asked him favours before with no problem.

(Ex: Keeping the souljam safe in Odyssey, Staying to protect the burnt Dragon city, She practically allows him to follow and fight with her wherever she goes. *coughs* Mama’s boy-).

To which I remembered his one quote here:

To which, she does. She does treat him like her kid in canon, and it’s not like Wild is entirely bothered by it. He was literally beaming here in this one scene where Holly praised his success. Maybe he found it almost endearing.

Anyways, back to the point.

He’s not bothered by simply that. And it’s neither because Holly doesn’t ever ask him for help.

It’s BECAUSE she never takes him seriously whenever he expresses genuine concern over her. She treats his every attempt to provide help as “annoying” or “unnecessary.”

Everytime he does, she waves and dismisses it away. Even lightheartedly teasing how he’s always babying her whenever he insists on accompanying her. She sees it as a kind of help that she can do without, but supposes not minding too much on taking it anyway.

Let’s not forget the gag that she keeps ignoring his protests and sneaking juice under his radar whenever she gets the chance.

(There’s more scenes of this obviously but I can’t fit them all here.)

Holly most likely didn’t mean to, but letting Wild’s concerns repeatedly fall onto deaf ears? Sure, Holly DOES let him help. But almost in the same way a mom would let her kid help in the kitchen as her little assistant even though she can do it all herself already.

It’s almost saying like she doesn’t actually need him as much and only lets him do it just so he can feel useful. He’s only the “optional help.”

That she still views him as the “little kid” she remembered ages ago and doesn’t require to be taken too seriously just yet (especially with the juice gag.)

But-

Having Hollyberry actually turn to directly ask for his aid during the Beast Yeast battle? Admitting that she can’t do this on her own? That only together, they can prevail?

Well, no wonder Devsis emphasised his surprise. Bro just got shocked with sudden validation.

And I think it’s a sweet part of Hollyberry’s development to learn to stop pushing people away while also satisfying what Wild subconsciously wanted to hear from her this whole time too.

TLDR: My boy just wanted to feel needed- :(((

Started feeling the sad stuff on Smilks part, chocked on our diva queen Golden Cheese's decision on BSpice and started tearing at Mystics.

Sugar's part just made it sadder and Silent was blissfully protected from the horrors by not being released yet and therefore not having enough lore to sob about. They may not be spared next time.

By my powerful delusional rays and for the betterment of my sanity, I'm here to tell you guys that none of that actually happened and Smilky just had a not so silly nightmare, forgot about it afterwards and got up with his usual crazy happies and joys and went to the ivory pagoda with Nilla (whom he has a healthy relationship with) where all the ancients and beasts (whom are also friendsies with each other) were having a family picnic, including the minions and where BSpice got some therapy for his destructive depressies and Mystic flour could control the sun so she could enjoy 2717369948720 billion sunsets with Haetae and Sugar is concious and actually happy and also Silent is present and happy and also everyone's happy 🥰🤗🥰.
