I'd argue what happened to Stolas in Mastermind is more consequences (which is something that's neither negative nor postive until context is added) than what he "deserved". Acting like anyone NEEDS a traumatic experience to "pay for their past" is an extremely toxic mindset to have. I mean, in fiction I love it, because it delivers delicious angst, but that's not how these haters look at it, so I still judge them for it.

I have god knows how many haters blocked by now, I still block them on sight, including the likes and reblogs. Though, even with that I still stumble across haters in the tags at times, they're everywhere, I swear. Though, my love for HB and my need to see/share fan content is way stronger than anything these haters can cry about.

this is really weird but part of my aroace experience is viewing allo people like a scientist would view a living specimen in an experiment

its like. they do something and i observe and note their behavior. i know this sounds super fucked up but here is something that happened today:

my sister was showing me her texts from her boyfriend and he was saying stuff like "if u want i can spray a shirt with my cologne to give to u" or "i'll give u my hoodie to wear"

and i just looked at her and said "people exchange clothes because they like each others scent? fascinating." and i felt like a freaking scientist observing a new species' behavior. i promise its not as weird as it sounds. im not uncomfortable with romance/sex (for other people), i just have no idea how it works.

im curious do any other aspecs have experiences like this? or is it just me?

Ex Darkshipper, i can confirm it effects you more than it helps you. It made me a lot worse then i had already been at the time. Considering i was only 10, it took quite the toll on me. Please find a different coping skill, in the end all it will do is make you feel worse. Don't believe those who say "fiction doesn't effect reality" because it does. But also don't dox or send death threats to proshippers because a lot of them are just traumatized minors or were groomed into doing it. That's just my own opinion thats coming from experience, you don't need fo listen to me but take some consideration.
