Listen it’s not for me to preach about what makes successful writing in fic spaces as a niche creator who is never going to get mainstream success but I really think the only metric that matters is did I have fun making this and did one other freak enjoy reading it tbh. Anything else and you’re going to lose your whole mind.

people have already talked about this but there is something so depressing about like....having a female character who's suffered unimaginable trauma and now her only character trait is Strong. she's so Strong and Powerful and that means she has Agency, right? right?

and like, well, no, not in and of itself??? like, you gave her trauma, DO something with it. don't just pay it lip service but then go "and now she's okay because she's so Strong and Can Fight or whatever". what even IS strength. are people who don't survive traumatic situations automatically weak by this logic? what are we doing here

I truly truly believe that the most important thing you can do in fandom is be a cheerleader. comment on fics. reblog art and rave in the tags. support the people making the things you want to see. this is how you keep a fandom alive. this is how you get more of what you want. you never know: that person could have decided to make more just because you liked it.
