"I’ll give you honesty." He assured her. Drew looked into April’s eyes and listened as she spoke "And you won’t get hurt, ever again. I’ll make sure of that weather it’s with me or with another man." Drew said, taking a small step closer before April stepped back and began to walk along the sidewalk. Drew turned around a few seconds later, "You’re not seriously walking all that way back to the hospital, are you? Come here, i’ll drive you." The intern offered, thinking about what they’d talked about while they were together this morning.
Second Chances || April & Drew
Looking into his eyes for the first time since their first kiss April knew he was not giving up on her or explaining himself to her. She looked down towards the sidewalk before back up at him, “We can still do dinner at my place, Drew, yet I am serious about wanting you to be honest with me……..

…..I just know that I cannot get hurt again. One more chance, that is all I can do.” She stepped away from him moving to start her walk back to the hospital.

It had been a long time since the shooting and it probably would've been better if he didn't bring it up but it was worth a try. Drew was still curious about that day, but certainly wasn't going to bring it up to anyone anymore. They stared at one another for a moment before she went back to the scans. He nodded once been given orders, "Alright Dr. Grey" and left the room as soon as possible to go prep the patient.

He listened to her words. "Bad things happened, but it’s in the past now," played in his mind like a record player. Drew could tell Dr. Grey obviously didn’t want to talk about it because when he brought it up she immediately froze. He thought it was a touchy subject but it had been all Drew could think about. What else happened that day? Did someone close to her get shot? That day Drew talked to April and left so quickly within the next few days and all he knew was Brighton got shot. Drew gave her a nod. He wanted to keep that conversation going, but he didn’t want to get off on the wrong foot with Meredith. When Dr Grey began to talk again, she moved on from what he had said and talked about the case. His brain plowed past her words, only thinking about that day. When she had been yelling at him to help, but he just sat there in Brighton’s blood, frozen in shock. He opened his mouth to talk about the case and answer her question but nothing came out. A few seconds later, he wanted to answer about the patient but the wrong words came out. “Can we talk about it, the shooting?” Drew question. A few moments later he noticed that what he said was the wrong thing, “I’m sorry, I really didn’t mean to say that. If it’s something you’d rather not talk about we can move on,” But inside most of him was hoping that she’d be okay to talk about it. Another part was hoping that she’d get upset with him and kick him off the case so that he didn’t have to talk, but he was actually hoping that wouldn’t happen. Drew had no one to talk to about this, he really didn’t know anyone in the hospital. All he remembered was Meredith, Brighton, and himself sitting on the floor in the storage room on a pool of blood. “I’m sorry.” He repeated before he heard Dr Grey, quickly grabbing his pager he paged Dr Shepherd 911 and booked the last OR available.

Drew looked out the window as she collected her things, hesitating to let her leave. Drew listened to the bells on the door ring as April left and quickly dropped money on the table to pay and chased her out. He softly grabbed her wrist before she actually left. "Please, April. Give me a chance." Drew stood closely in front of April. "Just one" Drew said, almost whispering. "Let me bring by dinner to your apartment tonight, we can talk there." The intern tried to make plans. He wasn't sure what he was going to say but there was no way he was letting her get away without properly explaining himself.
Second Chances || April & Drew
April just shook her head looking out the window, “You should have called, Drew, it is not like I am this high school girl who moves on from one guy to the next.” She stood up collecting her things not really sure if she could handle listening to the rest of this. ”I really should go. Maybe this was a bad idea, maybe I am better off just concentrating on school and career right now.” Deep, down, inside she was hurting and really needed answers. But right now she was not patient enough to stay to get them. ”Have a good day, Drew.”

"Let me say Aaron told me himself that he believed you were his sister, so don't blame that all on me. We did have a connection. We do. I wanted to call you so much times after I left but I didn't. I probably should have but April I didn't want to hurt you more than I did. It just all happened so fast." Drew replied. "But i'm here now trying to make this up to you. I want a second chance. I miss you April. I want you back. So now i'm here, apologizing for the thousandth time and begging for a second chance. I can explain everything." Drew kept saying. He wasn't the type to give up and weather it would take days, weeks, or months he wasn't giving up. Weather it meant they would be just friends or something more, Drew just wanted April to know that she could trust him.
Second Chances || April & Drew
"How can you make this up to me? Let me see the first real time we actually sat and talked you tried to make up a story that Aaron was my brother which we both found out to be incorrect. The second real time we talked was after the craziness at the hospital and I thought we had a connection. But how can that connection mean anything when you up and leave than come back without any word? Yeah, so I am waiting for this miracle cure to my broken heart." She finally spat out at him after she took a long drink of her coffee which he got right. It was nice to know guys remembered how she liked things especially coffee. It was definitely the little things that meant the most to her. "I really have no idea, Drew, I really don’t. I am sorry."

During their drive they mostly sat in silence. Drew turned on the music at one point and tapped to the beat of the song for some noise. "I'm really, really sorry for leaving like that. I didn't mean for it to hurt you," The intern tried apologizing again as he made a right into the parking lot of starbucks. He quickly ran out of the car and to the side April had been seated on to open the door for her. They walked inside, speaking a bit about what happened before Drew ordered for the both of them. He still remembered April's order like it had been written on the back of his hand. Drew waited for the coffee and took a seat across from April. "I shouldn't have done what I did," He started by saying. Drew had no idea what to say. He didn't know how to fix this. "How can I make this up to you?" He questioned. Drew could tell that April wasn't going to let him in easy, it would take a lot more than the explanation he had and he wasn't even sure if he was ready say anything about why he had really left.
Second Chances || April & Drew
The last time April left the hospital with Drew he was trying to convince her that he was not making up stories, this time as the two of them were leaving the hospital it was him defending himself and trying to get in her good graces. Why did she always fall for the guy who ends up disappointing her? As the two of them were walking towards Starbucks she looked over at him, “Hi…thank you.” She was not wanting to be hurt anymore. If Drew hurt her again she really was going to swear off the male species until she was done with school and concentrate on being a doctor.

Back To The Start || Meredith & Drew
"Parker, you're with Grey," Drew heard a doctor call out. "Oooh, Medusa," Another intern said. He shot the doctor a nod and quickly changed into his light intern scrubs and left the room. This was his first day with Meredith Grey since the shooting and since he's got back all he could think about was the shooting. He was already a bit late to work as it is and being late while on Dr. Grey's service was never a good thing. The intern went down a couple halls and turned left into a patient room, "Sorry i'm late," He whispered before starting to present. "Kason Scott, 21, gun shot to the abdomen...." Drew went on. All he could think about right now was the hospital shooting and began to have a flashback. How one of his close friends was just sitting there on the floor, bleeding out. drew quickly snapped out of it and left the room after he'd been given orders to take a few scans. The intern ran some scans and brought them immediately to Dr Grey. As she closely looked at them she saw about 3 bullets in his abdomen, Drew couldn't stop himself from bringing up the topic. "I'm sorry to bring this up, but can we talk about the shooting? The hospital shooting that is..."

Second Chances || April & Drew
The brown haired boy slipped on his coat and quickly made his way out of the intern locker room, into the elevator and to the lobby. Drew sat down in a chair in the lobby while he waited for April to come out. He was hoping that he would be able to earn back her trust after hurting her, but he knew it would take a while if it was even possible. Was it a possibility? As he sat down his leg began to shake because he was nervous about what was gonna happen. How would he explain himself? He left without telling her and came back without a word in between. At about the third elevator ring he heard, the redhead walked out. “Hey,” Drew stood up from his chair and smiled. “You look wonderful,” The intern complimented. “Shall we?” He said with his slight british accent, leading April out the lobby doors.
