Please stay
As long as you want
Even if for another minute
Another minute, another hour, another day
For ever if you'd like
Safely tucked into the sheets of our single bed
I want to watch your chest move up
And down as you breathe
Count the moles on your face and chest
Forming the constellations of the pale milkyway that is your body
As I trail my finger from mole to mole
From perfection to perfection
Because your imperfections are my perfections
When I wake up to bright yellow light streaming into the room
Feeling how the mattress is weighed down by your presence
As your body curves around mine
And all I can focus on is the hypnotic sound of your breathing
The smell of your skin clouding my groggy brain
And the heat of your body enveloping me
More comfortable than a hot bath after a rainy day

Her name lies on many lips
Rolling over different tongues
All names except one
She whispers bitter truths in some ears
And honey sweet lies in others
But never what’s on her mind
She is what you desire
Yet you are never what she needs

To strangers
I want to see
What they see
I want to feel
What they feel
When their eyes graze past me

I want but I also don’t want;
I accept but I also deny;
I know but I also don’t know;
I love but I also hate;
Myself.
