If you end up with a boring, miserable life because you listened to your mom, your dad, your teacher, your priest, or some guy on television telling you how to do your shit, then you deserve it.

In my country, there’s very little awareness towards sexual harassment and they don’t take rape seriously.
In the first panel, is the tendency for the authorities (and even guardians) to blame the victim for being raped. Victims are discouraged to go to report the sexual abuse in fear of ‘shaming the family’ and to cover up the rapist bad behaviour. Muslims believe in covering up one’s bad behaviour to not spread ill about others, however, this ‘belief’ tend to get misinterpreted. In Islam, rape is a sin and it’s ironic that we don’t take it as a serious crime.
In the second panel, if a man gets sexually assaulted by a woman, people say he should feel lucky for getting such ‘opportunity’. In addition, if a man gets sexually assaulted by another man, they’d blame him for having a pretty face.
Thirdly, if a child gets raped by an older person, usually someone they know, marriage is their only solution. Again, it to 'cover up the shame’. Why do they approve the idea of victims living the rest of her life with the person who hurt her?
Fourth, our people like to wish death threats as punishment towards outspoken women. It doesn’t matter if she’s a famous figure or an activist, it doesn’t matter if her statement is dumb or not. Rape threats shouldn’t be used as a form of disagreement. It’s worse when a woman is wants it to happen to another woman.
All of these needs to stop.

Why would you give someone the power to tell you that you can’t go further when they don’t even know how far you’ve come? - #stevemaraboli

Today the Department of Awesomely Good Deeds salutes Mustafa Efe, Imam at the Mahmud Hüdayi Mosque in the historical Üsküdar district of Istanbul, Turkey. In addition to his religious and community leadership work, Efe is a devoted animal lover with a great big heart. Last year he began welcoming the city’s numerous stray cats and their kittens into his mosque. Efe refers to his feline visitors as “guests” and wants them to find safety and warmth within the walls of his historic mosque, particularly during the cold winter months.

One mama cat was observed bringing her newborn kittens into the mosque one by one. She carried them in her mouth up the stairs and over to the safety of the mosque’s pulpit, where she proceeded to groom and feed them:

On Facebook Imam Efe wrote, “The kitty has found the heart of compassion and mercy.” Meanwhile other feline guests are known to sit in on Imam Efe’s sermons alongside human congregation members.
