Final Week
This class definitely challenge me to get out of my comfort zone and start using different learning platforms. Every week there was a different challenge to conquer. Black Board was more a support tool rather than the main tool, and I totally loved that. I have absolutely no negative comments regarding this class, other than the fact that I wish I was in a better place in life so I can get the most out of it.
I enjoyed working with Padlets, making videos in FlipGrid (although I had countless “blooper-worthy” moments), and creating new content every week, but the activity I enjoyed the most was having a blog and posting on it. Thanks to this class I finally created a Tumblr Blog and I love it!
Finishing this class is definitely bittersweet. In a way I am glad that this semester is over and I won’t have to stress about deadliness, but I am also going to admit the constant grow and feedback from this class.
Thank you for everything, Kelly. I truly truly appreciate your feedback and your good and positive energy. It was a pleasure having you as an instructor again and hopefully I will see you again in Credit Management (:
Here is a little joke about starting vs finishing a semester...

Infographics / Week 12
We see them everywhere, but what exactly are Infographics? In a nutshell, Infographics are graphic visual representations of information that has the intention to be quick and clear. They are fun and easy to read, and a great way to share knowledge about a topic. I love them because they combine graphics and actual text, while being short and “to the point”.
Canva is my favorite website to create designs of any type. I highly recommend it to literally everyone. It is free, super user friendly, and versatile. I like to described as a improved version on Microsoft Publisher. And guess what? They have many Infographics templates. Don’t miss out and use it for next assignment, here is the link: https://www.canva.com/
I found these 2 great Infographics
1) Healthy Parenting Tips During COVID-19:
I really like this Infographic because it provided information about a topic that can be useful to every parent during this pandemic. It has quick tips and ideas to manage the situation. Including images and text while still being short and sweet.

2) Venezuela 2008 vs Venezuela 2018
This infographic makes a quick comparison of how my country’s Inflation rate, Poverty rate, Oil Price, and GPD per capita changed from 2008 to 2018. It is a very long topic and the data on the poverty rate is not very accurate since it is much higher, but I liked how they took a couple statistics to spread information about Venezuela and its current situation.

And last but not least, here is my own Infographics made with information found on Chapter 14.
(Here is a link to the link if it is too hard to read through this postfile:///C:/Users/gaby9/Downloads/Blue%20Entrepreneur%20Personalities%20Business%20Infographic.pdf )
I hope you like it and don´t forget to check out Canva!

Business Communication / Week 8

Newsletters are a great way to reach people in the business community. It is a fun and “to the point” way to inform what is new about a company or even to share a couple tips and advice about a topic related to your organization of business. Usually the people receiving your newsletter are subscribed to it and, hopefully, will be waiting for it.
I used to help work in a Gymnastics Gym when I first came to the United States, and one of my favorite things was to help with the Newsletter. Their approach was to inform their customers about new events, registration deadlines, prices and class schedules; but they always included something fun. I decided to do my news letter with a little more fun approach and provide tips (using the content of Chapter 13) to Business Students on how to Network and tips on building a LinkedIn profile.
This is my Newsletter: The Business Students. I hope you guys like it!

Week 7 // Professionalism at Work and Prezi Presentation
Personally, I have always thought of Prezi as “amazing, mysterious, and complicated tool” that I was purposely avoiding. Back in my country, people used to pay to get trained on Prezi, so I have to admit I was intermediated. I love the “good old” PowerPoint and I feel very comfortable with it.
Doing this assignment got me out of my comfort zone, and I can proudly say that it was not as bad as I thought. I enjoyed discovering tricks and features. I had to go back multiples times to change things as I was discovering new features, therefore It took me longer than what it usually takes me on PowerPoint, but it was a very nice experience.

Week 5 // Professional emails Part 2

Nothing better than hands-on work to gain experience, so let’s get to work. This is an example of a Professional Email sent from a Manager to Employees:
Subject: Email Etiquette Tips
Hello Team,
I am reaching out to you to send a quick reminder of proper email etiquette. Make sure you review the following tips before writing your next email within the company:
Use a positive tone
Always include a Subject Line
Start with a proper greeting
Remember that CC is for having a visible list of recipients, while BCC keeps the recipients list private.
Pay attention to grammar mistakes
State your purpose clearly
Choose a proper closing and sign off
I am excited to see the improvements and keep growing together as a team. Please feel free to reach me if you have any questions or concerns.
As Tiger Woods said, "No matter how good you get you can always get better, and that's the exciting part."
Sincerely,
Gaby Iribarren

Business Communications / Week 4
Let’s get to business...
1) Creating this blog was such a good experience. This was something I have been wanting to do since I was 15 years old, when I first started to use blog platforms like Tumblr. I never created an actual blog of my own until now, and I loved the experience. Since I already knew how to use this website, it was fairly easy for me. I still have many tools and tricks to discover though... I am excited!
2) I am a person who loves colors and all they mean. I enjoy using colors to emphasize, set up themes and even organize ideas. That being so, the first thing I customized were the general colors on my blog. I also customized the background and avatar accordingly.
3) Having a professional blog can benefit your career in many ways such as expanding your network enhancing your resume. Also, being a blogger in a professional related manner, can help you develop leadership skills and stay current with the trends and skills related to your career.
