Hello.
It's been four years since I last logged in this account. (2020 or so—) Honestly, I didn't expect to get it back. Here are some things that I wanted to say back in the day.
Circa 2020; I was 'working' for a known SU Comic — I won't name it. If you already knew this blog under the name 'OpalJelly' you know what I mean. I was recruited as a staff member, after a series of 'trials' that 'tested' our artistical skills. And by 'ours' I refer to the other people that were also participating.
I have to admit that it was a good time. Sharing with the SU fandom always was. The deadlines weren't a big deal. The workflow was okay, too. The staff members were always nice with me. I'll always have to thank that.
Perhaps my exit from the group was too soon — too sudden, too abruptive. I know that by this, they had to readjust all the timeline of the comic itself, and also redistribute the workflow with the remaining members. I thought that, they could keep on doing it as before — I mean, they were a group of 4 people working on it. I didn't expect that the other member that joined the Comic would eventually leave — by other circunstances, but I can understand that.
By the time, I wasn´t doing well with my life. I was suffering depression, among other things.I won't comment much about it. It was a need for me to leave and do my things right. Also, I felt that I was in a box — working always in the style, never trying on another things. It felt monotonous.
I'm kinda disappointed by the way they chose to share this — and the things that happened after. Erasing the credit for my work, erasing my work too, reworking or redoing characters I left for them to use (and I text myself, I told them to work with them as they wanted, but I never expected them for changing the characters and leave them unrecognizable) And that it was somehow trivial asking about me — like a 'we don't talk about them' situationship.
I have the opportunity of sharing this today, 'cause I lost the email that was also linked to this account. I had to contact support and it was a really intrincate process getting it back.
I know I can be blamed for leaving without saying a word, they reached to me and I gave them an answer by the time said. That's all. I'm sorry for that.
After these four years — I've been doing better and I'm glad. I keep doing art, too. I'm happy that I had the chance to participate in something that was somehow 'important' between the community. That's all I had to share.
Thank you for reading. ~AZ.
