I know this seems out of the blue, however I recall that your dear husband doesn't like having his knees covered with pants. If pants are out of the question, then could he be convinced to wear a dress? It would keep his knees free while still covering them.

Imayo ignored his warning, glancing briefly back before she pointed again. "But do you see? Look at how the snow highlights the texture of the mountains, and how the moonlight plays with the shadows. And with the stars above? It's poetry."

He didn't look up.

He couldn't bring himself to.

As she pointed out different slopes on the mountain range, he watched moonlight gleam along the slight curve of one inky horn. As she indicated shapes in the shadows, he watched glossy strands of black hair curl about the white woolen hat she wore. As Imayo leaned forward, not pulling against his cautioning grip but simply to show him what she saw in the landscape...

...he watched himself slip right off the edge of admiration and fall headfirst into love.

Decided to bring Obsidian back for this one. In the swampy OC habitats of my mind, I got the idea to kill off the present-day Obsidian. Once the mechanical protector ceased to function, their actual self unexpectedly reawakened from a very deep stasis in the palace tucked in the Underkeep. Perhaps one of many guards who were preserved with the expectation that they may one day reawaken to protect the queen.

I think they had a different name when they were active in Alexandria's glory days, but they would choose to keep the name Obsidian. They still wear too much metal all the time, largely because they're not used to how light their flesh body is and also can't quite get over physical contact, skin to skin.

At least they can try to get to know Dancing Green properly, now.
