Inspiration- Trees and the changing seasons seem to be a continual theme and inspiration for paintings. Here are examples of a Winter Tree and Fall Tree. I was showing the feeling of the 2 different seasons with the use of different colors to portray the sky colors as well as the color in the trees. I find it interesting that the music aspect as discussed in previous post appears here as well.

I enjoy listening to orchestral/classical music, it evokes a multitude of colors and shapes. Images of different colors for specific instruments come to mind as I listen. My favorite composers are Beethoven and Vivaldi and I enjoy some works of Mozart, Bach and various other composers as well as operas. I find that this music inspires not only specific paintings/designs pertaining to music but also other designs I create for stained glass.

Wind flowing through trees has been an inspiration for both my painting and glass work. I love the sound of the leaves rustling, I imagine the wind not only pushing a tree but flowing around the trunk, spiraling the branches, pulling on them. It is more of a flowing through and pulling as it goes through to the other side.
What inspires you?

Bike riding is one of many things that inspires me in creating paintings and glasswork. I can be riding along and images or thoughts pop in my head which I will jot down once I get back home.

After the last couple of paintings using brushes that were frayed I bought some new ones, looking forward to trying them out.

After and before pics of a transom window that I installed my stained glass window into as well as some detail shots. I love how it turned out as well as the client.

After cleaning the transom window, I draw shape of the center of the clear bevels and cut color pieces of glass, bevel them and bond them on top of the clear bevel using UV adhesive. A UV lamp cures the adhesive.

Drawings studying the line, flow and shadows that were inspired by this leaf. I really like the flow of this leaf! These are just preliminary stages before creating a painting.

Before and after pics of a bathroom window. I love how the textured glass obscures the neighboring house and client’s roofline.
