A Stage 3 breast cancer survivor, born and raised in the then-remote village of Bawngchawm before settling in Serchhip. She wasn’t born with a silver spoon, yet she took care of all her siblings, nieces, and nephews with unwavering strength and love.

At the age of 39, she gave birth to me—her only child—and named me Isak.

Because of her, I learned to be content with whatever was on my plate and to wear what she could afford. Through her, I learned the true meaning of gratitude and appreciation.

She may not have given me everything I wanted, but it is because of that very reason that I now have the ability to pursue and achieve everything I want in life.
