I have been working on a pattern by Paprika Crochet. For this version I mainly stuck to her pattern but of course I am now doing one with my personal modifications. She does a nice variety of base bodies though her patterns would probably be difficult for a beginner. For this doll I still need to decide on style of eyes and whether she needs whiskers. So now I am creating a bunny doll here's hoping she works out.

I have been experimenting with creating faux fur wigs for some of my dolls. Same basic pattern just changing direction of fur. The result was a wig for the Dirk Strider I have been working on. Now onto creating his glasses

Making Marco from AI: The Somnium Files Nirvana Initiative was a design challenge. But I am pretty happy with the end result. I even managed to get them to stand all by themself. There were many mockups and playing with darts and seaming. The good news is now I have a new plush pattern and I will be making some more

I had a request to create a suffie of Bihyung a Dokkaebi from Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint. He is so squishable and huggable. I used a nice quality faux fur for him and it stressed the benefits of having a small hand vacuum in my sewing room. It seems many items I create use fabric that sheds :)

A doll that keeps being set aside. A variety of outfits have been created and then set aside as they just don't seem to be quite right. Trickster Jane Crocker just has a mind of her own. She says she wants an outfit with a bib today. So that will be the next creation - Bib overall shorts or Bib overall skirt Hmmm which shall it be. Some dolls just have their own opinions. Some come together quickly others need time to emerge.

Finally finished Claude up. Got distracted this week with reorganizing one of my work spaces. But after that I designed his jacket, gave him some ears and found buckles for the jacket. So now Claude is complete unless I suddenly decide to add a belt or keep playing with hair styles (both things may happen)

Steps in the process of creating an OC for a client. Decided on colours then proportion of doll. The first pony leg was too small but after we decided the doll should be 16" tall it all moved smoothly. A few challenges along the way aka bustline and curviness. Also how to do eyes, she definitely needed eyelashes. We were both happy with the finished doll. Meet Pinka the Pony

Making progress on Claude's hair. Needed to cut out some more pieces of faux fur and sew them up but his hair is getting there. Then on to his ears and clothing

Working on a new commissioned doll. Claude from Vincent: The Secret of Meyers. This is the start to creating the proper hair. Which involves sewing up lots of pieces of faux fur and then attaching them to the wig cap I created and stuffed to get the right effect/shape

I have decided to start using my Tumblr account again and post pictures of the process of doll making. I personally like to see the steps involved in the creation of dolls so I thought I would share what is involved when I am creating.
