Hey, if yall wanna use the ask box to suggest like little one shot ideas I’d be willing to write some. It can be cocoapowder, just a specific character, any pairing (unless it’s weird don’t be weird), but mostly anything yall wanna see (again nothing weird let it be cute stuff guys idek how im gonna write the cocoapowder first kiss yet bc like uhhhhh how)
I will try and avoid anything that i wanna do like in Abovetale (so stuff like first kisses and like trauma dumping and stuff 😭) but if its basically anything that wouldn’t be lore related and you wanna see it written use my little ask box and I’ll write it eventually!
(and yes i’m working on chapter 16 i started writing it today)

A part two of the @madb0nes art based writing thing. Again this does not happen in canon of Abovetale, it’s just me being inspired to write (well it’s somewhat older writing i’m just posting it here) bc of Mads’ art bc it’s amazing.
~~~
Chara gazed out Clover’s bedroom window, where the moon hung low and pale, casting a soft glow across the room. The curtains were thin and unevenly drawn, letting in just enough light to touch the worn edges of the walls, the faint outlines of shadows stretching long and gentle across the floor.
The room was quiet—still in the way that only midnight could be.
It struck Chara again how bare the space was. Not in an empty way exactly, but in a quiet one. The walls were blank. No posters, no photos, not even tacked-up scribbles. In one corner sat Clover’s guitar, leaning against a chipped wall like it had been placed down in a hurry and forgotten. A few sheets of homework were crumpled nearby, curled slightly at the edges. A single cactus perched near the windowsill, its tiny pot shaped like a boot—one of the only deliberate details in the room.
It surprised Chara more than they wanted to admit.
They had always assumed Clover was the kind of person to over-decorate. Someone who cluttered their world with cowboy knickknacks and loud, mismatched charm. Their clothes were expressive, their voice always big, their smile a little too wide for someone who claimed to hate mornings. But this room... this room was simple. Sparse. Careful.
Maybe it wasn’t a front, exactly. Maybe it was just that most of Clover’s color lived outside of themselves. Or maybe. Chara thought as they turned to look at them again, they didn’t know how to keep it for themselves.
Clover’s curls tickled against their cheek, wild and soft and slightly frizzy from the warmth of sleep. They had all but shoved their face into Chara’s shoulder sometime after they’d both settled into bed, arms curled tightly around Chara’s waist, legs tangled naturally like they’d always fit there. They were still, but not in a relaxed way—more like they were afraid to move. Like holding onto Chara kept something from falling apart.
Chara tilted their head down, resting their forehead gently against Clover’s hair. A quiet sigh escaped their lips. They reached up, slow and cautious, to run their fingers through Clover’s curls—half expecting them to stir, to pull away—but Clover only nestled closer.
Their hair was as soft as Chara had imagined.
They smelled faintly of pine and citrus, like the woods in early spring, and something else that Chara couldn’t quite name. It reminded them of warmth, of worn cotton and childhood nostalgia. Something real.
The moment felt impossibly tender. Too still. Too unguarded.
Chara could feel the quiet thrum of Clover’s breath against their chest, steady and even. Their own heartbeat was louder somehow, ringing in their ears, echoing in their chest like it might give them away.
They weren’t sure what to do with it.
They’d been so angry with Clover for so long. And then not angry. And then confused. But now... here, in this quiet room, with Clover curled up against them like they were something precious—
It scared them how easily it made sense.
Chara’s hand paused mid-motion in Clover’s hair. Their eyes searched the shadows across the ceiling like it might offer some kind of answer. But there was only the sound of breathing. Only the warmth of another person in their arms.
And then, of course, Clover had to ruin it.
They let out a loud snore, the sound echoing through the bare room like thunder.
Chara slowly peered down at the sleeping human, an astounded smile tugging at their lips. Their eyebrows were raised practically to their hairline.
Yeah. That officially ruined the moment.
“Get off of me,” Chara muttered, twisting out of Clover’s grasp. They heard Clover groan, confused, but Chara frankly did not care. They sat up, using their leg to shove them completely off the bed. “Get off of me, dork.”
“AGHHHHH,” Clover yelled as they hit the floor.
Thankfully, their bed wasn’t high off the ground at all, but that didn’t stop Clover from groaning as if they’d been shot.
“What was that fur,” Clover slurred, blinking slowly up at Chara with a dopey smile on their face.
“You snore,” Chara said, grimacing.
Clover shook their head adamantly. “Nuh uh. You snore,” they argued, pointing at Chara before collapsing backward onto the floor with a giggle.
Chara sighed and tossed a pillow and blanket down at them.
“Thank—” Clover began, but another snore broke out mid-sentence.
“I hate you,” Chara muttered with a smile, rolling over to face the wall and slowly drifting off to sleep.
If the dark world doesn't exist and all that, does that mean Ralsie isn't going to appear in this story?
I really want him and Lancer and other darkners to appear in the story I just need a way of doing it in a way that isn’t like “wait a minute why is there this dude that looks oddly like me”— Asriel yk. I want them to bc i love all the darkners dearly, i’ll figure out a way of writing them in, but I also don’t wanna make any promises bc as of rn I don’t actually know…
How does abovetale work? Im a bit confuse
It’s basically an alternate universe where humans never banished monsters underground (so Deltarune in that aspect) but minus the Dark World and roaring and all that, and all I kinda did was make it so all of Toriel’s kids are related, then added UTY characters.
They all live in a slightly modified Hometown (the modifications is just me making the town bigger to compensate for the larger cast) and it’s sorta just a slice if life type thing where the poor kids can just be happy living a somewhat normal life.
Any specifics of like how the kids were adopted will be touched on, Chara already having theirs explained and stuff. Uhhhh, age wise,
Asriel is a senior and he’s 18, Chara and Clover are both juniors and are 17 and 16 respectively. Frisk and Kris are twins both 15 and sophomores.
I actually do have a reason for making them twins which is essentially, they’re each others like counterpart within the UTDR universe ik they’re not the same person in the slightest but the comparison between Chara/Frisk and Kris is very much there for a reason. So i kept Kris approximately the same age and aged up Frisk. It also allowed for me to have cooler dynamics I feel. Bc Chara has Clover as a counterpart. Azzy and Dess (which you shall see more of what I mean in chapter 16 ironically enough) and then I have the twins! When I say counterparts, I mean like their chapters are shared (we don’t include the festival chapter where everyone has a POV). It just allows me to pair off the characters, obv they have relationships with other characters and plot lines with other characters, but having pairs for chapters just makes it easier to follow I think.
That’s kinda it on the lore. Like there stuff with the UTY characters (Chujin and Kanako) which will be explained at some point so I won’t talk abt it rn.
Clover jumped onto their couch, leaping into the left corner without a second thought, paying no mind to how much it slid across the hardwood floor.
Chara had only been inside Clover’s house a few times before, and only ever to grab something they’d left behind. So the fact that they were staying the night now—it was kind of a big deal for both of them. Chara was a little surprised Ceroba had allowed it, though to be fair, they swore Ceroba liked them more than she did Clover.
They took a seat beside Clover on the couch—calmly, they might add—unlike a certain cowboy beside them.
“So, what are we doing again?” Clover held up two controllers, grinning widely like they always did. Chara raised an eyebrow. “I’m not telepathic, Clover—”
“Mario Kart!” they yelled.
Right on cue, the TV chimed out: Mario Kart 8! followed by the theme music Chara had heard more times than they could count.
“Sorry,” Clover said, “I wanted to time it right.”
“You just looked like an idiot,” Chara deadpanned.
Clover only smiled in return and handed them the Player Two controller. Chara tossed it back at them and yanked the Player One controller from Clover’s hands instead.
“Was that really necessary?” Clover sighed, resigned, picking up the Player Two controller.
“Absolutely,” Chara said, smug.
They booted up the game.
The game loaded, the music blaring triumphantly as Clover scrolled through the character selection screen.
“I call Yoshi,” Clover announced, already hovering over the little green dinosaur.
Chara didn’t respond right away, instead slowly navigating to the pink-suited Princess Peach.
“You would,” Clover muttered, snickering.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Chara asked coolly, blinking slowly at Clover, almost daring them to speak. Clover leaned forward slightly, the two touching noses as they grinned at them. Chara pushed their face away from their own, scoffing as they did so.
“Nothing, nothing,” Clover said innocently, though their grin betrayed them. “Just, y’know, Peach. Royalty. Just seemed... fitting.”
“Mm.” Chara leaned back against the couch. “And you’re Yoshi, because you’re slightly annoying, and mostly communicate through sound effects?”
Clover gasped, clutching their chest. “That was uncalled for. Yoshi’s iconic.”
“Exactly.”
The countdown began—3… 2… 1…
The screen split in two, both karts shooting forward on the track.
“You know,” Clover said as they bumped into Chara’s kart, “I go easy on people who are new to the game.”
“I’m not new,” Chara replied, eyes locked on the screen. “You just assumed that because I don’t broadcast everything I’m good at.”
Clover let out a dramatic scoff. “Okay, calm down, Peach. We’re on Rainbow Road, not the battlefield.”
But the conversation dropped off fast. Chara was quiet, hyper-focused, drifting through tight turns with unnatural precision. Clover, meanwhile, kept veering slightly off the edges, overcorrecting, slamming into banana peels that—suspiciously—seemed to appear only in their path.
“Okay. Okay. That one was personal,” Clover grumbled, after slipping on yet another banana.
“How do you have so many!?”
Chara didn’t answer. They were already two laps ahead.
“Are you even blinking?” Clover asked, wide-eyed. “I feel like you haven’t blinked in the past five minutes.”
“Maybe if you weren’t staring at me so much, you’d be winning,” Chara said simply. They heard Clover grumble beside them.
By the final lap, Chara had not only lapped Clover, but done so twice, all while collecting every possible power-up, drifting perfectly through every curve, and somehow avoiding every obstacle as if the game itself favored them. Every time Clover was even close to actually succeeding at anything, Chara would ensure that they’d somehow stop them. They were impressed by the cowboys restraint at not throwing the remote at the T.V.
When the victory fanfare played, Chara didn’t even flinch. They just set the controller down on their lap, staring at the screen like they’d just folded a napkin.
Clover blinked in disbelief. “You’re a menace.”
Chara looked over at them calmly. “You challenged me.”
“I didn’t know I was challenging a Mario Kart warlock!” Clover groaned, letting their head fall back dramatically onto the cushions. “That wasn’t a friendly game. That was an execution.”
Chara smirked. “You talked too much during the countdown. That was your downfall.”
Clover slowly sat up and pointed an accusing finger. “How are ya so good at this?!” Clover yelled out, their expression pained.
Chara shrugged. “You just suck, lucky.”
Clover flushed at the nickname, glaring back at Chara. Chara grinned widely, straightening their posture.
“So round two?”
Clover stared at them for a moment, before glaring back at the T.V.
“Bring it, buttercup.”
Guys. CLOVER and CHARA are some of the most emotionally stunted people to probably exist EVER. They sat on a hill and told each other things they’ve never told other people ever and both of them still managed to argue “what we aren’t friends hello?”
then talking abt their feelings might take an arm and a leg and more braincells than either of the two possess
(but i love them and ive written little sections of them already being together just doing slice of life stuff bc it’s HARD FOR ME TOO GUYS I WANT THEM TOGETHER SO BAD I HAVE TO RESTRAIN MYSELF)
(i’m literally the one writing the slow burn it’s my fault but STILL)
Uh this is my first ask ever but uh do you have a map of any kind of how HomeTown in the AboveTale is layed out? Because I sorta want to make it in minecraft but I'm sorta lost on how its layed out. Sorry if I spelled things wrong or something.
OKAY SO I TRIED MAKING A MAP AND IT FAILED MISERABLY SO HERE IS ME DESCRIBING IT.
So the Dreemurr household is in its same spot, there’s that one little street that goes down, but instead of the Holidays house it’s another little street of houses. On that street to the right is the park which basically where like the wooded part like above the little lake area would be in Hometown. Clover also lives on this street near the park. Then below that street is the same as Hometown (AKA Holiday home). Then there’s the like store street which is also basically the same, on the other side of the street is like they alley and a bit further down the street i imagine it also being the little plaza shop area with all the shops described in Chap 14.
Then the street below is where the school and stuff is as normal. The school is bigger, multiple floors and all that but everything past that is the same. Then the rest of the town is essentially the same if not just slightly larger.
Sorry for the really like not amazing description i really did try and make a map but i have no artistic ability
If you do end up making it in minecraft send me photos!! i’d love to see it!!
