Non-Boring Environments that need Fantasy Representation

Tropical Rainforests

Scrubland/Dry Forests. For extra effect make them the sort that burn very often; some native plants never germinate until after a fire, and some animals not only rely on fire to smoke out prey, but may even start them themselves.

Savannas/Tropical Grasslands

Temperate Rainforests. I almost didn’t include this bc New Zealand is covered in them, and that’s where they filmed Lord of the Rings. But tbh, no one really knows about them, so it belongs here

Taiga Forests

Barren Tundra, perfect for some extreme seasonal dichotomy

Polar Ice Sheets

Desert-Grasslands (arguably the same as Scrubland but Australia’s good at adding its own twists)

Barren Desert

And there are a LOT more I could name but this post is already obscenely long as is, if you’d like to toss in your own go right ahead, but my point is if you limit yourself to European Deciduous Forests you’re a wimp.

It’s funny how similar Druck!Jonas and Marlon pretty much have the closest storyline out of all the Jonases (music, drug-dealing, they’re definitely the most passionate about causes) but Jonas is the most loved and Marlon is the most hated.

So if we wanted to watch some French animation, what films would you suggest?

the Triplets of Belleville is about an elderly woman searching for her son who was kidnapped in the middle of a Tour de France race. It’s largely free of dialogue, but the sound effects and such are wonderful. It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature—it lost to Finding Nemo.

A Cat in Paris is about a young girl and her cat who discover mysteries in the course of one night. It was also nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Feature, but it lost to Rango.

Persepolis is based on an autobiographical graphic novel by Marjane Satrapi about her early life in Iran. It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, but it lost to Ratatouille.

the Illusionist is about an aging magician and an imaginative young girl who form a father/daughter relationship. It was also nominated for a Best Animation Oscar, but lost to Toy Story 3.

The Rabbi’s Cat is a story about a cat who swallows a parrot and gains the ability to speak like a human. It is set in 1920’s Algeria.

Ernest & Celestine is the adorable story about a big bear and a little mouse who forge an unlikely friendship. It was also nominated for an Oscar in Best Animated Picture, but lost to Frozen.

Kirikou and the Sorceress is a story inspired by West African folklore that tells the story of Kirikou, a boy who was born with the ability to walk and talk, who saves his people from an evil witch. The film was popular enough to spawn sequels and a stage adaptation.

A Monster in Paris is a 3D animated musical film that is reaaaaalllly loosely based on the Phantom of the Opera. It’s set in 1910 and is about, surprisingly, a monster that lives in Paris, and his love for a young singer.

The King and the Mockingbird is an 80’s film about a cruel king titled Charles V + III = VIII + VIII = XVI, who is obsessed with a young shepherdess, and whose attempts to capture the young girl are thwarted by a mockingbird whose wife the King had previously killed.  

Those are probably the most famous of the feature length animated films.

But the animated short films are just as glorious. Here’s a compilation of a bunch of short films and I can link you to others as well.

Anywaaay, everyone in druck is gay. Did y'all see how Samuel looked at Jonas?! There are now two (2) instances where Toilet Sam seems to be into Jonas…..bicons.

after the quality of jonas/hanna you just know that druck would make sure to adapt evak the finest, most respectful way possible and the actor behind matteo has already given solid hints of the emotional subtlety it takes to portray isak valtersen and there is a big fat chance season 3 won’t see the light of day AT ALL and the frustration is giving me literal chest pains.

speculations on Mia’s season

It could go either two ways:

a) Mia gets a gf and s2 could follow some of the plot line of og

Why?

1) Alexander would have graduated by s2. Unless he goes to school to continually stalk her creepily, I don’t think their relationship in this sense is possible.

2) Mia has repeatedly rejected him and shows 0 interest. It would be so weird to have her turn now.

3) While I’m scared at the risk of being queerbaited, so far, I choose to trust Druck not to, because they’re doing their best to raise social awareness and even tackle issues that og Skam hasn’t. They’ve also made improvements on what the OG had as problematic.

BONUS: (a reach) Kiki and Mia’s relationship is highlighted. A lot of Vilde’s last scenes in the og that were with the squad were replaced with just being with Mia. And Mia suggesting she might want to like girls. Instead of a new orig character as a gf, Mia might end up with Kiki and help her come to terms with her sexuality.

b) Mia ends up with Axel anyway

Why?

1) Marketing-wise, it’s better for Druck to push thru with Winterberg. Their views go up significantly higher in Germany - they trended on German YouTube - after a Mia-Axel clip.

2) They’re making Axel redeem himself by himself. He doesn’t apologize to Kiki because Mia told him to. The show might attempt to please both Noorhelm fans and anti-Noorhelms by making Axel become less of an asshole.

3) Mia is a confirmed bisexual, which still leaves the possibility of a romance with Axel. They could have made her into a lesbian which would make a lot more sense since she’s told him he’s not her type and then proceeeds to kiss Hanna. But they didn’t.

A speculation based on nothing: I think Druck is still unsure of how s2 will turn out, depending on feedback. So I think you guys should def use the WhatsApp thing to voice out ur opinions and thoughts on this to help the show come up with a wise decision.
