an au that's landed in my head is one where viserys dies when 1) aemma is still alive and 2) rhaenyra is young like 10 years old and she becomes queen-in-regency

otto remains the hand and sees this as an opportunity to morph rhaenyra into his political pawn, alicent becomes rhaenyra's principal lady-in-waiting, and we get an aemma v. otto struggle for control over rhaenyra but eventually she shirks both of them when she reaches majority and becomes queen in name.

as much as i don't like otto on a personal level i love him as a character and i think it would be an interesting dynamic if he was trying to do to rhaenyra what he did with viserys
