RULES AND FAQ’S
First, your book must be used in some way - no sending us back an empty book or a completely different book! Second, your sketchbook must stay within its original dimensions. Last, please don’t use glitter or acrylic/gesso paint as these may cause the pages to stick together over time.
Your book is unique to you. Each book will be given a barcode so we can easily catalog it into Brooklyn Art Library's system. Once we catalog it, you’ll be able to track where your book travels, how often it is viewed and how many times someone pulls it from the shelf - we want to make sure you can stay connected with your sketchbook! The more search terms you add to your book when you register it on our site, the more likely someone will check it out!
THEME IDEAS:
GO-BETWEEN. DISCONNECTION. BIZARRE. THINGS I'VE LEFT BEHIND. STANDSTILLS. RITUALS. THIS ONE THING... BURDENS & BRUSHES. HOMONYMS. STITCH & STORY. INFINITE SKETCH. CITY STREETS. MELANCHOLY. A VISUAL SHORT STORY OF THE DAY WE MET.

Tiffany & Co. — New Ways of Seeing: Episode 4
youtube
WATCH: New Ways of Seeing: Episode 4
New Ways of Seeing is a new five-part video series that explores the unique perspectives that have shaped our beliefs and understanding of contemporary art. With an immersive virtual reality experience featuring art critic Jerry Saltz, episode four of “New Ways of Seeing” examines how events of the past have inspired creative expressions of escapism and resistance.
NOTE: In your sketchbook write down anything/anyone that catches your attention. Investigate “attention getters” further.
WONDER: Can there be good art in bad times? Can you think of any examples not mentioned in this video? What difficult current or past events have or could move you to create?
