Drew this silly mini comic after Caro wakes up in Johns apartment (Avery Jones part 15 in my webcomic Seemingly Dark on Webtoon.) what to do when you’re a famous influencer but you threw up on your crush after getting possessed by ghosts and he STILL took you to his house and now you have only one choice since he’s at work and that is to snoop.

I’ve been drawing a lot of their teen years lately but I’m kinda overwhelmed lately with con prep and assorted angst so decided to go back to basics and draw their classic aesthetic clashing, height difference, lost and found again, smoochy tropey beautiful selves ✨ a celebrity and Some Guy. A deeply lonely man and a deeply haunted one. A doorway to the unknown and a shield, separated by tragedy, bound together by reckless love.

What about John? If he grew up in a loving and caring household, would he have kept his punk aesthetic or would his style be totally different?

He would still be punk, yes! that's fundamentally who he is through and through down to the core. Some things would be different, he'd get nice boots for holidays and get his shoes and clothes replaced when needed. He'd still be into diy and sewing and patch making and thrifting and marching in the protests and yelling at The Man and going to the shows, and he'd still play guitar but he'd have support, his mom would be in the back of the club clapping along. His jacket would be a hand-me-down from some Irish 80's punk uncle (punkle) he actually got to meet. And instead of using his terrible home life as a reason to rebel against the pain and uplift everyone he meets, he's use the love he gets to do it instead <3

But his life would be totally different in other ways. He wouldn't be blind, for one. He'd have craft glitter all over his face and barrettes in his hair and homemade bracelets with those letter beads and spelled wrong words, and elmers glue spots on his shoes. and his pins and jewelry and shirts would constantly be missing. And he'd be a lot more whole on the inside, cuz he'd finally get to be brother of the year after year after year after year <3

every time I mention how many days sober I am I appreciate people congratulating me and telling me to keep up the good work. it is nice. but I also wish that milestones in addiction recovery weren’t still so pinned to length of sobriety/abstinence

yeah yeah I’m 50 days sober who cares. how about the fact that, when I do drink, it tends to be nipped in the bud after two days nowadays instead of weeks or months? how about the fact that drinking has been condensed to a six pack because I’m at the end of my tether, instead of browning out every night? how about my friend who has decided to stop drinking alone, and is actually sticking to that? recovery doesn’t always look like sobriety and I wish it was more normal to talk about that. yknow. when addiction is normal to talk about at all

Pickle wiiiiiitch!!!!! This concludes my MIYC challenge/art series. Thank you everyone who has participated in the very first My Item Your Character challenge! Note, I don’t think I’ll do full series of 12 items like this again. It feels too rigid for me. It also kinda sucks when the theme doesn’t land because then I’m stuck with it for a month XD. It was a fun experiment though and I’m glad I took the chance and tried it ^^

After seeing the prom pic, I kinda wanna know what ML/SD Caro's dream prom fit would be :D Like, that one is clearly the dream prom fit of prom-age Caro, but how about adult Caro?

So adult Caro probably wouldn’t go to a Prom unless it was as a special guest in support of a school or something BUT they would end up on the red carpet so heres fancied up Adult Caro’s Dream Prom/Superstar celeb fit with a blue grey silk custom suit with Moth print to match their mothman tats, wingtips, mesh shirt to show off lack of chest, TAILS (the back probably has larger moth print on them like wings) custom harness made from their childhood heartbelt annnd of course a cap no matter how hard their agent Goldie tried to dissuade them from wearing it lmao. First time stepping out since their hair went white and the press goes CRAZY asking why they ditched their signature blond and Caro just shrugs with a grin and says they got the blond scared out of them. And of course we know that’s the truth but the tabloids are having a field day.

Ps this would make a cute wedding fit too but we all know Caro would really show up in one of those printed tux tees.
